Alas, I thought I had to go somewhere and buy a lamb, but when I did,where would I take it. I bought the the plane ticket to Jerusalem, But when I got there, there was no temple, Alas Lord what shall I do, What must I do, can I fast, Can I give to the poor. Lord what must I do? Shall I keep the law, My ancestors tried. But you will not accept it, alas Lord what can I do, Can I give money to the church. oh Lord what can I do, is there anything I can do, Oh please tell me creator of the universe, What can I do. Keep your law as best I can, Lord the Pharisees created fence laws to keep us from breaking your law. What can I do.

Hiz, does speaking in hebrew make you feel closer to God? well it don't.

I can't read anybodys mind. You refuse to see the cross and place your faith in your actions and think that your works bring you closer to God. Well in fact it drives you further from Him.

You slander Abraham, slander Yahweh;s Sabbath, tell me what I believe, you have lost any respect from me, I hope, Yahweh willing, He opens your eyes to following Messiah in truth.

I hope that the Holy Spirit opens your Eyes. What did the law point to. what does the OT point to something you do or what God did. The choice is yours Gods ultimate or your works.
 
Revelation 12:17, "And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went to make war with those who forsook her seed; her seed being those who keep the Laws of Yahweh, and have the testimony of Yahshua Messiah."

Revelation 14:12, "In this manner are the saints purified--by keeping the Laws of Yahweh, in conformity with the faith in Yahshua Messiah."

I already said it, I follow Yahweh's Law in the faith of Messiah

Why, don't you know that where the Saints gather the devil will too. The devil sat right there with Jesus. Don't let those who do not understand the Sabbath keep you from Glorifying the Lord. So, Rest, bless the Lord His eyes are on those that seek to please him.

Hey there 38!

First off, let me say welcome to the Forums! It's a pleasure to have you here, and I look forward to getting to know you.

I'm not sure how much searching of past threads you've been able to do since you been here, but this is a thread that I've been doing for several months now, every Friday or Saturday. Many of us in here celebrate a physical, 7th-day Sabbath. We don't do it for righteousness's sake. We don't do it because it makes us better than anyone else. (There may be a few Sabbath-keepers who think differently about that, but that's a different issue). We celebrate the Sabbath because God laid it on our hearts. We believe God gave the Sabbath to His people as a blessing, a day to rest physically and spiritually. With Jesus as our Savior, we are able to rest in the work He did to cleanse us from our sin and make us right with Him. Our keeping of a physical Sabbath is a sign and a reminder of that work.

There are several people in these forums, both pro-sabbath and anti-sabbath, who really like to argue about it. There are a "plethora" of threads that debate and argue about the Sabbath. The threads that I post every Friday/Saturday aren't meant to do that, but instead to be a blessing to those that do. It's always been my hope that it would stay that way, but there's usually a couple of people that come in to derail these threads with arguing, instead of keeping the them to the myriad of other threads dedicated to debating the Sabbath. Oh well, such is life.:rolleyes:

I'm not saying all this to correct you or argue with you, I just wanted to explain what I try and do here. I try as much as possible to stay away from the Sabbath-debates. They rarely bare fruit, and usually cause even more division among the Body. (Although sometimes I get sucked in for awhile, and then have to quietly bow-out because it's a fruitless endeavor.)

So whether you keep the Sabbath or not, it doesn't really matter to me. The only thing that matters to me is that we worship our Creator and Savior in a way that is pleasing to Him. If He's laid on your heart to keep the Sabbath, awesome, go for it. If He hasn't laid on your heart to keep the Sabbath, then don't worry about it. The more that we all can focus on our God, the better off we, and the Kingdom of God will be.

To those in here who do keep the Sabbath.......

Remember, there are always people who want to argue about keeping the Sabbath. Always have been, always will be. But as you all know, I like to keep these threads as just a time of encouragement and blessing. Let's try to keep it that way. If folks want to come in and argue, so be it. But let's not engage them here. Debate and argue in the other threads, but let's try to keep these threads debate-free. If I could make a friendly request in regards to these particular threads, just ignore 'em.

One verse I try to remember on the Sabbath is this:
Exodus 35:3 "You shall not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath day.”

Pray about what that might mean physically, but more importantly spiritually. I've learned several different applications of that verse, so let me know what you come up with.

Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

(Jas 2:14) What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

(Jas 2:17) Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

(Jas 2:18) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

(Jas 2:20) But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

(Jas 2:21) Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

(Jas 2:22) Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

(Jas 2:24) Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

(Jas 2:25) Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

(Jas 2:26) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Matt, remember you will not be saving us. So, whether or not you agree if we should keep the Sabbath or not is of no difference to anyone who will be looking to The Lord Sabbath for their salvation.

Not trying to cause division just making sure you understand that what you think means little its what He says that matters.
