I've been sick for about... I dunno since last thursday evening.

I've tried eating a couple of things but honestly, over the course of the last 5 days I've had a tiny bit of oatmeal, some mac and cheese and a few bites of potato salad.

Still not hungry BUT... boy do I love water. :D

- Honey and cayenne? Honey is antibacterial, I have no faith in chili adding any effect, but it sounds tasty if added in small enough amounts
If you have a cold, honey helps to soothe the throat and cayenne pepper (not too much) helps to clear the sinuses.

I honestly wish I had a father to teach me how to be a decent man.
Many men grew up without a father, or had a a poor example from from their father. You should talk with your pastor or one of the elders in your church about it. There are a lot of older christian men who are willing to take the time to mentor a younger man.

A lot yes, but not here. I've been in this community long enough to know that even Christians have their own share of problems to deal with. Besides, I seriously doubt my pastor would understand me.

Have you considered visiting with (or calling) those in Stephen Ministry?

They are very caring, and due to their golden years of Christian experience, they have graceful understanding of the trials of other.

According to Google, there are Stephen Ministries in 10 Canadian provinces. I'm praying for you, brother that you my continue to anchor yourself to the Rock from which flows streams of living water. The Lord is good. :)

I understand, I know different churches have different dynamics within them. I consider myself to be blessed to belong to a fellowship that is active in mentoring young men and women.

I've been in a slump for a good month now. The frigid weather has been getting to me I guess. Always exhausted, little energy. Today was the first day in which I felt a small surge of energy, like the the heaviness of winter lifted for a moment, and I felt as I did months ago.

I never realize the slump until I come out of it, it gives me perspective. It was as if I forgot how I felt in the summer. Forgot my energy, the way I looked at the world. It's like I was tricked, reacting to the inconsistent environment, just going with the flow. Today, it was as if I took a deep breath in of that other person. We still have a while until decent temperatures, but I hope to feel as I did more often as the days grow longer.

I am going to ask for a prayer for my Cousin Patty, her brother passed away Saturday. She is the last member of her immediate family that is still living, her brother has been ill for many years and she helped take care of him. Patty has been disabled her entire life. She's 60 now. She has the most positive attitude of anyone I know. But his death has been very hard on her. His funeral is Wednesday. Please pray for her a prayer of comfort. She really needs prayers right now. Thank you!

Your father's father, if you had a father, would be from heaven, too.

He is able to teach you all things, in fact, Scripture says that the Holy Spirit teaches us what we know, even of our parents, it is Christ working His Spirit through theirs to ours, Truthseeker, bro, buddy :)
