Reading this book called The Ten Commandments of Dating

Its by Ben Young & Dr. Samuel Adams.

At first I thought I was going to pick it apart like a cheesy Christian bumper sticker loaded with bad theology BUT, nope. Its so far been better than I could have ever anticipated.

I'm going to start a thread. Either this afternoon or Wednesday that addresses where this book and I agree and most Christian singles don't.

I remembered a story my dad told me a year or so ago. He had been to the store that day and he saw a young lady standing there with her grandmother. The little girl was 5 years old or so. She had been burned horribly; her face was terribly disfigured from the scars. The thing is, she looked very peaceful and happy and didn't seem to be caring about what others thought. "My goodness" said my dad. "That is one cute little girl!". I believe he also mentioned what a great smile she had. She kept amusing herself with what she was doing and ignored him. "Now, that man said something nice to you" said the little girl's grandmother. "Say thank you". The young lady looked up at my dad. "Thanks, pardner!" she said cheerfully. She then went back to what she had been doing before. :')

My friend and I banter back and forth on Facebook, nothing rude or inappropriate, but we both have dry senses of humor. Sometimes other's don't understand us and think we are really dumb or rude.

There was this thing going around when you commeted on someone's odd status, you had to put one up yourself. You had a choice of a few, mine was, "I wish Obama could run for a third term." Most people that know me, know that's not true. Including my friend, she and I have a lot of the same political opinons. She responded, "Oh I wish he could run forever!" Then of course someone who doesn't understand our humor or relationship says, "Why, he's awful?" Then I have to explain, she's joking calm down, and she also has a right to her opinon.

One day she put a status up about watching football. If you've ever seen the movie The Water boy the water boy's Mom says everything is of the devil. The Waterboy wants to play football and she would say, "You not playing Foosball it's the DEVIL!" She called football Foosball.

So she put's this status up about the game and I respond, "You shouldn't be watching that Foosball it's of the DEVIL!" Someone doesn't get it of course and again an explanation is needed, she's joking.

I know not everyone get's sarcasm, but it's not like she's putting up a picture of her kid and I'm saying, oh that kid's ugly. I would never do that, that wouldn't be funny. But do some people just not have a sense of humor or am I just odd?

When I woke up this morning, I'd realized my bottom lip split (because I always chew on it...not out of nervousness. Just boredom, I guess.), and really needed to put chap stick on. My house also smelled like something had caught on fire. My sister put a gluten free pop tart in the microwave. Accidentally hit one button too many, and smoke was pouring out of the microwave. Thankfully Mom took care of it. Because Moms rock like that.

Being all responsible and paying all my bills, and making extra payments to my credit card and student loan. I have the new App called Bill Tracker and I think it will help me remember and encourage me to pay on a timely manor. Nothing like an App criticizing you for not paying things on time. Just needs a window to pop up calling me an irresponsible deadbeat if I go past due.

My Son had a neighbor friend for a while that picked up his parent's and grandparents mispronunciation of words. These folks moved a while ago, but my son really liked this kid and refuses to believe me when I try to correct him in a nice way.

For example, when they moved they moved to a house that is by a creek. They pronounce it crick. My Son went to visit once and he came home talking about the crick, I said, "Honey it's pronounced creek." I showed him how it was spelled, "Oh no, it's crick." My Husband tried to explain this to him as well. He doesn't believe us. Also they pronounced milk, malk. I don't know why, but it's obviously pronounced MILK. "Mom it's pronounced MALK." They used the word ain't a lot as well. For a while he was doing that too. He finally stopped. I would correct him.

I'm not a grammar Nazi but I want him to say the words correctly. I actually spoke to his teacher about this at our last parent teacher conference. She said if she hears him say things incorrectly she will correct him. In a nice way of course. Ugh!

Money makes me nervous. Paying bills use to always make me. I guess I figure once it's gone, it gone, and if something happens, the money is gone and I'll be screwed. Cus I'm on my own. No one to help me out. So I clutch money to myself just in case, because it will help me protect myself. It's not that I'm irresponsible, it's that I feel alone and unprotected.

I remember back in the day... Must have been in grade 6 or so and my girlfriends would swoon over Jonathan Taylor Thomas. I wonder what he's been up to since Tool Time. I never really thought he was that cute, but you know, I wanted to belong so I went along with it.

I have had horrible insomnia for the last couple of nights. I'm so tired, hence the millions of posts that might be rambling. Anyhow I've been thinking lately, mostly at 2 AM, how I could make my kitchen and dining room into one room. It involves a sledge hammer, moving some plumbing and knocking down a wall.

I mentioned this to someone else who own's this house, I was told under no uncertain terms am I to knock down anything.

I got the call today offering me full time!! :D I accepted, of course. I'm very excited, my first ever job with benefits!!

I will be at a different branch, in the neighboring town. My drive to work now is about 5 minutes, when I switch over to the other branch it will be about 10 minutes or so. Still not bad at all. New coworkers (though I have met them a few times before), new atmosphere, new customers. But, I am excited. After 14 months of being part-time, I'm finally full time!

Cooking for myself is such a drag.

Oddly enough,one of the things I miss most about being married or back when I was single & had roommates is cooking for other's.

Feels like such a waste of time & effort to just make dinner for myself.

When I worked as a cook,I would either eat at the restaurant or have one of the other cooks make me something & I'd bring it home after my shift.


Maybe I'll just have some crackers. Meh. lol

If I didn't have to cook for anyone, I'd probably eat microwave popcorn for dinner every night. I love popcorn.
