Modesty is on a spectrum...this one is toof ar to one side. Can we not get a good middle ground?

In my opinion modesty is a key thing, but what is and isn't modest is based on culture and what's in your heart. The culture of America and of Brazil are totally different. (From what I've heard from a friend who's been to Brazil) You can walk around and see girls wearing bikini bottems all over the place with a shirt. In america that'd be terribly not modest but in Brazil that's "average". So modest there could be short shorts while here (USA) short shorts on a girl are slightly less modest then the "average" in the summer/spring. The culture is a big part of it. Also what's in your heart. If you honestly believe you are being modest by wearing short shorts instead of shorter short shorts then your good, but be honest with yourself.

The reason modesty is key though isn't for you to Glorify God rather to not hinder your brothers in Christ from Glorifying God. (And vise versa for men, but in the context of the thread I am just commenting on women modesty). If I'm preaching to my friend in starbucks and a girl walks in in booty shorts and a tank top I'm probably not thinking about the bible as much as I was before that. Having no form of modesty causes your brothers to be inclined to sin even more than originally.

She was wearing a very conservative dark grey suit - a skirted suit, thankfully (pants suits are awful!), with the skirt down to her knee, along with what appeared to be a well-pressed white blouse, her collar snugly buttoned, and a pair of pumps. Some might criticize her for dressing like a librarian or something like that. I, however, found it refreshing to see a young lady that prim'n'proper. If I was a bit younger, I'd have tried striking up a conversation with her after church. Believe me, as pretty as she was, I'd guarantee you she's probably got no problem attracting young men, at least the kind she should want to attract.

Thanks for offending professional women all around the world. Not that pantsuits are the only thing we wear, but they are certainly in the rotation and are completely appropriate for many occasions.

regarding dressing modestly..well, what does that mean?

I think the girl in the video made one great point. 'If Jesus where standing in front of you.. would you feel comfortable in what you are wearing? Would you say 'don't worry bro..its cultural'?
