You got that right Elizabeth. She tossed her integrity in this discussion away imo.

Now check this out: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/24/w...n-order-of-village-council-in-india.html?_r=0

This is how their minds work. The village elders in the case of that link above in India felt so strongly about preventing the minds of the youth from being polluted that they ordered the gang rape of a young woman for dating a boy outside of their tribe.

Seriously, that's how twisted their thinking can get.
In a world where one of three men is a rapist maybe we should look at ourselves?

1 out of 3 makes it an incredibly likely statistic.

I have seen many people like you on this forum, and every one of you have a talent where you do nothing more than twist words for your own hateful agenda. You justify your own hatred while condemning others.
Well. There are many racist people who dislike Qataris and Indians. Some float around condemning them and their nation on forums.

No one said that "only women should own guns". That is yet again another example of you twisting words.

Well the OP posted about how women are at a disadvantage in case of an assault by a male.

Hence to keep the power balance equal, a woman needs to own a gun.
However what if a man owns a gun? The power balance gets shifted.

Clearly the statistic says ONE IN THREE men are rapists.

So Only women should own guns. Simple.

Perfect example of you not clearly reading.

I asked you how it sounded. Did you hear Liberty bells? :)

Did I talk about handling gays? And did you read your posts by your fellow countrymen who tried to educate other people about the history of your country?

I suppose you'd like to feel better about your amazing reading skills by putting yourself above the Qatari people?

You are clearly very educated that you can look down upon a country and their laws. After all you are above everyone else (You have such a liberty) and have a right to jeer at your fellow human beings.

Forgive me Madam, for having infringed upon that right. My agenda was never that.

I don't "look down" on other countries. All I did was give back to you what you are displaying in this thread. If you do not like others talking negative about where you live then don't do the same. It's pretty simple.
To continually attempt to insult others intelligence on the internet over a matter of opinions like you're doing is quite entertaining, but I will walk away from it now. So I guess this means you will have the last word. Have fun.

Well. You can call a spade a spade. I shall continue to remain clueless about where I spoke negatively about your country.

I think you don't need any help from others to have your intelligence insulted.

However you don't have to '' walk or run away'' as self defence.

You can go all guns blazing Madam. Anyway blessing and peace

I just saw this after my last post, but I do want to address this.

Are you indicating that myself and people in this thread are disagreeing with you due to racism? If that is what you think I cannot speak for others but that is not at all what motivated my comments. Had nothing to do with racism and I sincerely apologize if you felt that was the motive.

As for the rest I see where you are coming from and it makes sense in a way, but when it comes to a firearm the "power balance" isn't really relevant here. Men and women can shoot guns equally. Gives the same effect. Hope that makes sense.

Of course this does remind me of a story. I shot a shotgun ONCE in my life. When i shot it the force was so powerful I fell backwards and squealed like a banshee. I don't shoot shotguns now out of fear of embarassment.

What intelligence is that sister?

American adults score below average on worldwide test measuring math, reading and problem-solving. United States scored lower than Japan, Canada, Australia and Finland in all three areas.

American adults score below average on worldwide test | Mail Online

Newsweek magazine gave the very simple U.S. citizenship Test to 100 Americans and 38 percent failed. 29 percent of respondent would not even name the sitting US Vice President. 73 percent were unsure why America fought the cold war. 44 percent were at a loss to delineate the U.S. Bill of Rights and 6 percent had no idea what date the US celebrated its Independence Day.

US ignorance: Americans fail knowledge tests — RT USA

The American Revolution Center sponsored a multiple choice survey that revealed enormous gaps in the knowledge Americans have in civics and history for most Americans. Prior to the exam, 89 percent of the respondents expressed confidence that they would pass. However, only 6 percent went on to pass the test.

More Americans could identify Michael Jackson as the composer of "Beat It" and "Billie Jean" than could identify the Bill of Rights as a body of amendments in the Constitution.

More than a third did not know which century the American Revolution took place. In fact, half of the participants in the study believed that either the Civil War, the Emancipation Proclamation or the War of 1812 occurred before the American Revolution. In reality, the American Revolution took place in the last half of the 18th century. A third of the respondents believed that the Bill of Rights does not guarantee a right to a trial by jury.

Study: Americans shockingly ignorant when it comes to U.S. History - National Politics in Education | Examiner.com

The Pew Research Center plumbed random samples of American's public affairs knowledge twice a year since 2007. The questions have varied in substance and format, but the results have been uniformly dismal. The average correct score is usually just above 50% which, if judged by the usual academic standard --90+% = A, 80-89% = B, 70-79% = C, 60-69% = D, <60% = F -- would be F!

Etc... etc... etc...

Overall, us Americans are an ignorant population of voters making bad choices at the voting booth and deceived about it believing the opposite. Not a good combination.

Well, some of us have made a serious effort to be informed voters making good choices but we're only about one out of ten Americans unfortunately and this is a democratic republic so...

As for me, I trust in the Lord and his protection.

A terrible storm came into a town and local officials sent out an emergency warning that the riverbanks would soon overflow and flood the nearby homes. They ordered everyone in the town to evacuate immediately.

A faithful Rachel 20 heard the warning and decided to stay, saying to herself, “I will trust God and if I am in danger, then God will send a divine miracle to save me.”

The neighbors came by Rachel20’s house and said to her, “We’re leaving and there is room for you in our car, please come with us!” But Rachel20 declined. “I have faith that God will save me.”

As Rachel20 stood on her porch watching the water rise up the steps, a man in a canoe paddled by and called to her, “Hurry and come into my canoe, the waters are rising quickly!” But Rachel20 again said, “No thanks, God will save me.”

The floodwaters rose higher pouring water into her living room and Rachel20 had to retreat to the second floor. A police motorboat came by and saw Rachel20 at the window. “We will come up and rescue you!” they shouted. But Rachel20 refused, waving them off saying, “Use your time to save someone else! I have faith that God will save me!”

The flood waters rose higher and higher and the Rachel20 had to climb up to her rooftop.

A helicopter spotted her and dropped a rope ladder. A rescue officer came down the ladder and pleaded with Rachel20, "Grab my hand and I will pull you up!" But the man STILL refused, folding her arms tightly to her body. “No thank you! God will save me!”

Shortly after, the house broke up and the floodwaters swept Rachel20 away and she drowned.

When in Heaven, Rachel20 stood before God and asked, “I put all of my faith in You. Why didn’t You come and save me?”

And God said, “Rachel20, I sent you a warning. I sent you a car. I sent you a canoe. I sent you a motorboat. I sent you a helicopter. What more were you looking for?”

I too place my trust in Christ. Which is why I am willing to use the tools (tools in the story above = warnings, boats and helicopter) God gives us to protect others and myself from violent crimes. If you prefer not to use the tools (that is what a firearm is) Christ gave us to defend others and yourself that is certainly your right. As a born again believer I do believe in using the tools God gave me, which is why I carry a high capacity 1911 semi-automatic 45 almost everywhere I go! I pray I never have to use it, but if I need to defend someone or myself it is there (cocked, locked, and ready to rock)! If you choose to toss the tools God gave us aside, that is your right and your choice. As for me I choose to use the tools God gave me and if you want to condemn me for doing so go ahead, your condemnation means nothing. After all it is not you I will answer to on judgment day but instead God!

Like you said However my perspective is influenced by the fact I am a Christian.”

As Rachel20's big brother, should I read that as a death threat?

No but if you were her big brother I would hope it would inspire you to sit your little sister down and try to get her to face reality!

Which is yet another reason we should to be prepared to defend ourselves against perpetuators of violence. Thank you for sharing it.

There are statistics that one in three South African men are rapists, but I haven't seen stats where it states the whole world.

Seriously? His "proof" that one in three men in the world is a criminal rapist is a youtube video someone cobbled together with no empirical support for the assertion?

You can't be serious. I would like to believe that nobody's THAT ignorant, irresponsible, and socially reckless to falsely call one third of the male population of the world criminal rapists without the scholarly data to back up such claim.

Just showing a video where some unknown person makes a statement is not providing proof. So where's the "empirical proof" in that video. I could make a video that says Praus is a martian but that would not be proof you are martian would it?

I just went to the webpage you provided a link to and there's 12 pages of comments to search through. Why don't you just make my life easy and provide the source to this empirical data which proves that one in three males in the world is a rapist that you claim you have?

Where is this proof?
I'm just accepting the statistics from the video in the OP, if I was wrong then I'm sorry.

Unfortunately that is all I saw on that site that said it (maybe I missed something). Some people believe every video they see! Maybe we should make a video that says Praus is a marrtian. Wonder if he'd believe he was a martian! Sad, very sad!
