I did not know what broad assumption cult is so I went
to google to find out. To my surprise the Thread I had
just posted on with my photo, and other Threads are
open to public.

Maybe some don't mind this, but I do. I took my photo
of myself off. I thought we were safe, but we aren't.

In my opinion .... Caution is the word for the day.

The internet has never been safe since the invention of it. and Google? I dont think they know the meaning what safe means, we are all suspicious, we are all targets, and we don't have privacy. The nsa and all the governments are watching every single post, every uploads, every texts. and yes even CC is not safe regarding privacy.

Shame. But that's our government we vote is. and this is there wrong thing they know they doing, whether we like it or not.
maybe the governments need to be quoted this verse. Luke 11: 46. but ignorance there thing and money, oil and power and control is there game.

Internet is money to the government. were there is personal information, that's a money grabber for the government.

but why is the government broke?? there is so much internet out there! :D

the government already has a lot more personal information on me than i have ever posted online anywhere, considering that i file taxes every year detailing all of my finances, that i pay property tax, have a driver's license, have health insurance through a state-funded organization, and have been through security clearance processing.

instead of growing paranoid, i think it's better to live so that you have nothing to be ashamed of if it were to be discovered.
that's not to say it's wise to freely post your personal info all over the web, and yeah, this isn't a "secure" site, so i wouldn't be putting my bank routing number in a post!

Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
(Matthew 10:26)

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil.
Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
for he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid;
for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

(Romans 13:3-4)

I do not do banking or purchasing online. The Info or our thoughts
just are an invasion of privacy. I keep up with all the news and the
NSA etc... I am getting to the point I am not so worried about gov't.
as much as never having been on a site ever that did not at least"
give us groups that were private and IMO this is most certainly making
me think I don't want to be so open... Like who cares anyway ?

We know where we are headed. Trusting Christ comes before I am
threatened to be beheaded. Good night.

So what you're saying is you are shocked something you posted on the internet, showed up when you searched for something very similar on the same internet? Sigh

Yep. People keep explaining this happens. Its not a secret. Robo freely admits to it and even explains how it helps the site generate more traffic. I've heard people say they joined the site because the saw a post on Google. There is actually no reason to assume the posts would be private.
When it comes to the internet, if you don't want it seen or heard, don't put it on the internet, because there are always people out there who can find it.

J-Kay-2, I get what you are saying and understand the concern, but the day and time in which we live...it's technology. I belong to a sewing forum and post there. I have a sewing blog and share my sewing and my love for the Lord. What I project online or how I share about me and who I am is how I am offline. Failures, mistakes, temperament, emotional up and downs, good days and bad days. Want to be with people. Don't want to be with people. I like to read. I like to write. I like to interact with others. I like to learn from others and also like to share what I know or have learned in hopes it might encourage or help someone else. Might as well be how I am so I don't have to be in a constant state of "now what did I say? to who? how come?" Just be real. Let the chips fall where they may. If people understand and accept or like what I've said or even how I said it, great. :) If not, okay. Movin' on. Just like I can do with others...and have. :)

Now having said all that, I will say, discretion is always wise and prudent. :)

Well I'm sure you had some cold callers in your time right? Well who do you think sells your information to these cold callers? the more people are silly enough to put information on the internet, the more money government makes. No they are not broke, they were never broke before they came into governments, But what driving them to do it it? is more money? GREED. Power. Money is there driving force. the more they have it, the more they have power. and they will not stop corrupting the world with there lies, deciept, and hidden agenda's. you really think the government care? Do they actually know the meaning of care? well not for us anyways. Only for themselves.

However we like or dislike what the governments are doing to us. Whether its hidden or in open, There is that saying: there is always someone bigger. As the Nsa, and all the other secret agencies are taking our rights to privacy. It wouldn't surprise me that there is someone bigger who are monitoring them., The world has been right from the start has spies, Even in Jesus times spies was all the rage. they had spies who pied on spies while working with them.

Whether we agree with what they are doing or not. All we can do is pray. if it wasn't for that Snowden guy, who blown the whistle, we be none the wiser. and there could be more people like him, who will risk there lives to tell the world the governments and secrets hidden agenda's, Who knows. until them, all we can do is pray.

Luke 11: 46.
Jesus replied, And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them.

Watch what we say? because they are watching what we say? That fair? And then say they are only doing it because of the terrorists? So we all terrorists now? I know I'm not, I'm sure you and many people on the internet are not either. yet we are suspected to be terrorists? That fair?

I understand what they do, done, and have done over many years and will probably still do it, and I understand there reasons. But they are going over the top, and they are going above there own laws.

I can see the internet providers will be complaining because they will start to lose there customers. Because people pay lots of money for security, to give them a peace of mind that they are safe and have some privacy. And then the governments will not be happy, because they then will lose money, on information. I can see this happening. I may be wrong, but It wouldn't surprise me if it did happen.

I wasn't talking about our governments spying on us, I was thinking more on the lines of people seeing how us Christians conduct ourselves.

We are lucky we are so free in the US. During a visit in Singapore I was told to watch my dinner conversation in a private home of someone who had a very responsible job. They felt there was a possibility their apartment was bugged.

I made a critical remark about Singapore in a private conversation in a taxi. Everyone stared at me, and the subject was changed. Afterwards, I was told that people had been told to move from the country for less.

One day the television went black for awhile. When I questioned it I was told that it was only censors deciding something was not good for the people of Singapore to see.

This was a little over 10 years ago, I wonder if it is still true and how many other countries watch their people as closely.

I mean I know that privacy isn't really a valid word nowadays, but is this really ture? Wouldn't that kind of action require untold amounts of man-power? And would they watch the world or just the American websites and people?

Why would you think that?

Internet 101: Nothing on the Internet is private. Nothing. Not your private email to Aunt Millie; not your Facebook page; not you banking information. NOTHING. Some things are more secure than others. But somebody with enough time, skill and motivation can hack into ANYTHING.

I am astounded that in 2014 this is news to anyone.

I'm confused. The whole point of Google is that it's a search engine. It searches for the word or term that's inputted. That's how we find any information on topics we're interested in.
