O yea and I need someone who is above average on the video game Call of Duty Black Ops....If she gets a more deaths and than kills while playing Hardcore Team Death Match online...immediate turn off...NEXT...O yea if she chooses the wrong kind of perks...Immediate Turn Off....NEXT..NAAA im jk tho my Gf is awesomeeee.

actually, i must confess i felt just as badly for the "Lacey" referenced. in my experience, guys with such unorthadox names tend to be "amanda, jr." or amanda jones, III.

isn't it funny that a girl can have a name like "mason" or "kyle" and it's adorable. but you name a guy lacey or amanda and i am sure they have already endured more than their share of teasing.

p.s. i came "this close" to being named "kyle". i am pretty sure it is after some football player too, which i'm grateful to have escaped.

Really, people think those names are adorable for girls? I mean they're not quite as bad as Amanda for a guy, but still... Maybe we just have better naming conventions in Australia.

I dunno, you should hear some of the names in my class this year :p

...it's like every year is a competition for the most ridiculously named child just to give the teachers a challenge!

I should clarify 'my' class could be any of the classes I float between as a TA... they all have their share of weird names.

I have a girls name.

Still doesn't bother me its just what Ive always been called.
I believe it's more peoples perception
It's not the name that makes a person what they are.

perhaps, yes. further proof that it's different strokes... i guarantee you that if you yell the name "taylor" or "peyton" on the playground, a whole bevvy of little girls will come running.

actually another trend that is (still) huge -- medieval vocations: tanner, taylor, archer, fuller...

Actually, now that I think about it, I think what I find more annoying is parents who give their kids normal names but insist on using ridiculous spellings for said names, such as the following examples:

Amanndah (Amanda)
Danniyellah (Daniella)
Mykal (Michael)
Raychll (Rachel)
Allyxzandraah (Alexandra) etc and so on and so forth...the poor kids are forever having to spell out their names. It's ridiculous it's not quirky, cool, unique or edgy.

i totally agree. i have a unusual (last) name with a german root. it's a name that is constantly mispronounced and misspelled. also, all the letters in it sound like another letter. whenever i have to spell my name, i automatically slip into the NATO phonetic alphabet, because it seems to take people two, three, four tries...

i can only imagine how that might be for a little ammanndahh. if my parents did that to me, i'd vex them by calling myself "a".

if you want to hear a funny naming convention, try the horse registry. i have a horse called "charlotte's webster surprise", and no, i didn't name her that. she was registered that. i just call her charlotte or char...

Could be difficult for me, being a primary school teacher and all. :)

I know that I could not date anyone who is always thinking of themselves first and not others. Girls who are so consumed into their looks and don't value purity are a big turnoff. Girls who dress immodestly are a big turnoff. One of my biggest pet peeves is girls who like to get into so-called cliques in public or private or push everyone aside because they think they are so much better. That shows they care more about their reputation over being a light in Christ.

I do think I will amend my prior post :) Four legs and a buggy just might be interesting.

Gotta say one of my dreams has always been to have an one horse open sleigh ride, bells jingling, tucked close together, riding and watching it snow, softly and gently. :)

Tell me about it! At least (I assume) you're with one class and they see you on a regular basis. You have time to get used to weird names and spellings. I'm on call so I float between various classes. Then if you throw in prac at different schools...it becomes quite the challenge to remember names. I find it most difficult when there are several students in the class with similar sounding names who might look similar. Last year I had a Jayden, and a Tahj and another Jye and they all looked so similar.. I got so mixed up with the J's. If I couldn't see their face I had no idea who I was calling out to lol! You.. with the brown hair and the green shirt (which is all of them)...don't climb that! LOL!
