there are a few places i like to camp at that are near small lakes, and i have seen watersnakes??? gliding atop the surface. the first time it happened i was leisurely swimming and this big snake goes gliding right past me. i ended up swallowing a bunch of water and having a mild freak-out trying to get away.
so whenever i go swimming in a lake, i look long and hard for gliding snakes near the shore. : )

Ticks are the absolute worst.
My college mentor had land around his house, complete with woods, creek, and fields. He let students come and have quiet time on his land, away from school and the town. I did this one time, and to get to the spot by the creek, I had to walk through waist high grass. I came out to a clearing and I kid you not, I had about 20 ticks on my jeans. It was terrible. It was hard to concentrate and be peaceful with God when I just KNEW I missed getting one off somewhere...

I don't want to de-rail decypheringcat's thread, but, yeah, that's cool. Snakes gliding past, snakes in pools, almost sounds like one of my favorite movies,, Snakes on a Plane 
Seriously, i mean, there's questionable content for youngers and olders, for that matter, but, yeeee-ahhhhhh, fine theatre fun watching all those snake varieties kill people on the plane. I think, they even were right species of snakes, even though they were all byte images, except the scene in the actual snake sanctuary. But, yeah, besides the corny ending--I think, the producers must have run out of money or something---that movie could have been classic except for the cheesy ending

Hey, kenthom, WATCH OUT! That 2nd watersnake is a cottonmouth, deadly bite, duck broth, I mean, duck bro. And, I know you know of it, because, duck, that picture is from a Tennessee river So, keep your tail-feathers (and other feathers) all steered clear of that sight, duckbuddy
Poor ole kenthom, the duck, haven't heard from him lately. I think, he took it too seriously when I said he looked so in resemblance to that emu in the latest avatar picture of himself he posted. I mean, though, take a look at them, side by side. Sooo similar !

Hmm, I just can't think of what I've said that's 'thwo insultingth,' I just was telling what the internet said where I think the emu was considered one of the ugliest birds in the world.
Maybe, i can cheer the ole duck feller up with a nice cup of soup and give him a free book, to boot (Duck Soup For The Soul)
