Thought this should be brought to the attention of those who follow the Messiah:

Mattithyah 24:9, "Then they will hand you over to be afflicted, and will kill you; and you will be hated above all peoples for My Name's sake."

Very sad, the Catholic Church comes out with stats every year saying that over 100,000 christians are killed for their profession of faith in Yeshua every year. One of my prayers each day is for our Lord to protect those being persecuted for their faith in him.

Ha'Mashiach be with you always.

And the ONLY ones not hated for WRONGDOING is the Christians..... They are hated for DOING God's GOOD WORKS... WOW!

Not the perception though...

Joh 16:1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
Joh 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

Firstly, the study says' harrassed', not killed.

And it's numeric value is little opposed to the hundreds of years where 'christians' burned and pillaged willingly.

It would surprise you to know that christianity was a pacifist religion in its beginnings, and then came the Roman Empire's grasp. And since then we've had the crusades, the inquisition, reformation, witch-burnings and of course, the holocaust.

You might want to take a look at the history of how European christian church authorities both depicted jews, accused jews, and how they promoted hateful treatment of jews. It is no wonder so many people were willing to exterminate them.

Nazi propaganda had jews draining blood from christians. The Nazi's used the blood libel and host nailing accusations to incite hatred towards them.

Just one instance of a government or authority inciting christians into persecuting another religion.

A third of the world's population identify as christian at present. What with the wars in the middle east, and with the US being a sensationalist media geographic, cases of reported violence on christians will be far more widely reported than other religions. Since a third of the world's population is christian, christians are also likely to be persecuted, even if it is not due to religious reasons, because there are simply so many christians.

My last point is this;

What about the hundreds of thousands of innocent muslims and other religious people murdered with carpet bombs, bullets, bombs and missiles in Iraq and Afghanistan?

I watched a recent documentary that found statistics painting the ratio of civilian to target casualties as an astonishing 7:1, and I'm fairly certain that the bombing of shepherds and farmers doesn't get included in your calculations. 'Righteous killings of war', right?

9/11 saw 1,995 deaths (of which some were muslim workers in the towers), and the 'war on terror' has killed at least one million, at the very, very conservative estimate. Most of these are Iraqi and Afghan civilians.

You tell me how that's not genocide?

I don't condone violence, but I can certainly see why a christian (an American or British christian, specifically) might be persecuted in other countries.

My great grandfather served to defend the jews in Germany and in France, and to defend innocents. The World Wars were horrible, but we fought for something worth fighting for, then.

My grandfather fought that the powers that be could end the war and assign the Geneva convention. And do you know what America have done? Committed the most heinous international crime under the laws of that very convention.

Christians have no excuse for the atrocities that were done in the past or continue to this day in the name of Jesus Christ.
The Lord will judge those in the past and those today for their refusal to repent and love one another. Those who remain in hatred and evilness are anathema to God regardless of what they profess themselves to be.
"Not all who say to me "Lord, Lord" will enter my kingdom" Jesus Christ circa 30ad (paraphrased).

Exactly. Labels of religious title mean nothing. Who am I? Am I a titled man? No. I'm a human being, just like everyone else. Humanity are my family, and each share the burden of suffering just the same as I do. Not one person can use their title or creed of law to cover a lacking morality and empathy for their worldly family.

It shames me to hear some of my family use a teacher of peace to condone slaughter, and hurts me to see some of the peace-lovers slaughtered for their title or nationality, and it seems like there is this widespread view that a muslim, or an Afghan, or an Iraqi, or an atheist, or a hindu, life is worth less than a christian one.

Titles and boxes that people use to justify evil deeds.

The biggest problem we have had has been the hatred of pastors toward us. Thrown out of the church by that spirit.

I've heard a local church refused a guy for wearing jeans and said "We Dress Respectfully Here". When I heard that I was thinking "Sheesh, have they never read James 2:1-4?"

CHRISTIANITY: THE MOST PERSECUTED WORLD FAITH
Then they will hand you over to persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of
my name (Mt 24:9): international reports show that the persecution of Christians did not end at the foot of the
cross
Art Babych
AT THE START OF the 21
st
century, the words of Christ prophesising the
persecution of his followers ring as clearly as ever -- they’re accuracy echoed
in a variety of international reports showing Christians to be the most
persecuted faith group in the modern world.
Beheadings, torture, rape, kidnappings, mass killings, forced starvation,
imprisonment and even crucifixions attest that the persecution of Christians
did not end at the foot of the cross or the closed gates of the Roman
Coliseum. Last year alone, sources indicate that an estimated 165, 000
Christians died because of religious or ethnic clashes.
When taken together, the reports -- from organisations such as Aid to the
Church in Need (ACN), the World Evangelical Fellowship (WEF), Human
Rights Without Frontiers (HRWF), Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) and Amnesty
International (AI) -- open a window on Christian persecution in all parts of
the world.
Religious persecution
Approximately 10 per cent of the 2 billion Christians in the world suffer
persecution, said Gyula Orban, an official of ACN, the Catholic relief agency
founded by Norbertine priest Fr. Werenfried Von Straaten. Orban told the
ZENIT news agency, this means that some 200 million Christians suffer
harsh repercussions because of their religion
CHRISTIANITY: THE MOST PERSECUTED WORLD FAITH

Mark 15:21
[ The Crucifixion of Jesus ] A certain man from Cyrene, Simon, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and they forced him to carry the cross.

Matthew 10:38
Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

I'd say that about, I don't know, the entire 6 billion people in the world suffer persecution of some form or another. You like dividing that into groups, so here's some simple division for you.

If a third of the world's population are christians, and there are 6 billion people, and ever minute two people get murdered, then by the law of averages, every six minutes, 2 christians get murdered.

It's simple math. You can spin that to say 'OH MY, EVERY THREE MINUTES A CHRISTIAN IS MURDERED!' 'CHRISTIANS ARE BEING PERSECUTED', but in reality, that's a fact of human murder rate, regardless of religion, not a fact of christian persecution.

6 billion HUMANS. 2 HUMANS murdered every minute. Law of averages means that 2 christians will be murdered every six minutes. So every 3 minutes, a christian dies.

It is impossible that every one of those killings is religiously motivated. Absolutely impossible.

You should also know that 8 out of 10 of the world's population identify with a religion. So in retrospect, most crime is actually carried out by religious people of some denomination or other.

Also christianity is the largest religion on Earth. America is largely christian. America is also a sensationalist media nation. Therefore, the christian population will report the christian deaths. Again, you don't hear the news about the hundreds of thousands of muslim civilians killed in the middle east by a 'christian nation', do you?

That's why taking a cross has absolutely nothing to do with a religious label. I'll have a peace-loving muslim or buddhist over a war-inciting christian any-day. Likewise, I'll have a peace loving christian over a war-loving muslim any day.

The only distinction between the reported volume and importance of one religious groups deaths over another is in the popular consensus of the dominant religion in that country. But truth be told, far more muslims than christians are being killed in the world at present. They're just considered casualties of war, and they don't seem to be important enough to include in statistics.

Maybe we should start viewing religiously or politically motivated killings of christians in a similar light. No, we shouldn't. But it makes the point about the western world's views on the importance of life being based on religious label.

Yeah this is true, but is only going to get worse...right now there are places where they won't cut your head off for being Christian, but that will change someday soon!

If they will kill the master.....

This is exactly my point dcontroversial. People shout from the rooftops about being 'christian'. 'Oh, look at my label, he he, it's different from yours'. But there are few 'christians' who shout from the rooftops about having dinner with the 'tax-collectors' of society and wanting to do good rather than win groupies.

If I go to a muslim country and start shouting 'hey, ho' I'm christian and guess what, Mohammed's a fraud!', how do they respond? That's like going into a lion's den and telling them not to be lions. Granted, it's a ridiculous example, but all the same, that's how it's gonna be viewed if you go somewhere with conversion as your motives, above compassion.

You'd be surprised to know that the Koran places reverence on Jesus Christ, and his teachings. He's a respected, wise person who should be listened to. They just don't place respect on being told they're whole lives have been idiotic and all their compassionate deeds are worthless if they don't have metaphysical beliefs in christ.

WALKING Jesus' path of compassion and self sacrifice is taking up a cross and SACRIFICING yourself for others' sake, and I know lots of 'muslims' who do it.

How would you react though, if a muslim majority, just as convicted of themselves as you are of your beliefs, began living in each house in your street and telling you, albeit backhandedly, that your whole life and creed is a lie and you're an idiot, for all intents and purposes?

What you say is true and I agree.

My reason for posting this was to show that while mass killing is not common not this may be a sign of a shift into persecution of followers of Messiah unto death. Possibly a turn of the tides.

Thought this should be brought to the attention of those who follow the Messiah:

Mattithyah 24:9,

What the beep is Mattithyah?

Oh and btw, according to your list no one hates the catholics? I find that hard to believe.

Mattithyah is "Matthew's" real name, I didnt think that one was that hard! :)

I could be wrong but I am pretty sure Catholic and Christian fall under the same class in these numbers.

I divided these numbers by the number of adherents in millions, per adherents.com. Not to say that any persecution is acceptable, but be glad that you're not Jewish. They're hated above all peoples (on a per capita basis).

Then just say Matthew? Way to overcomplicate things.
And no, catholics aren't christians, your list is wrong.

Well it is not my list, it is the largest group inb the world for religious research. and when world staistics for number of people that belong to certian religions are done Catholic and Christian are usually lumped together.

So the reason I use Mattithyah is because it is his real name, I go with truth over tradition. Mattithyah means gift of Yahweh, IDK what Matthew means, I know it dosent mean anything about Yahweh.

Micahyah (Micah) 4:5, "For all people walk each in the name of his god (430 - elohim), but we will walk in the Name of Yahweh (3068 - Yhvh) our Father forever and ever."
