Original feminists were prolife, Christian tea-totallers who fought for women to have equal treatment under the law. The church didn't care enough about women to spearhead the movement, so a more radical element took over. The latter is called new wave feminism., which is the man hating extremists. Even so, gird up now thy loins like a man and stop blaming others for your ineptitude.

I just stay away from feminist women. If they want to be a man, that's their prerogative. It'll cost a lot of money to finish the job though.

I'm speaking against feminism, not women.

To think back to your original post though, it actually feels like you're speaking out against women's equal rights itself. That's a lot more than just feminism.

I get your point. You feel like men have no place in the world. I've felt that way too. I told my father that once, and he said to me (and I'm paraphrasing);

'You feel like a wuss because women are becoming more influential on society. You feel like less of a man because men 50 years ago had it easier than you do. Men from fifty years ago wouldn't be able to deal with today's world, though. You're more of a man because of that. But you're still worse than a woman son (general term in my culture for 'stop your complaining'). Women are out there making a place for themselves in the world. If you want to feel valued as a man, you've gotta make one too'.

Too many blokes are caving in and saying 'it's all women's fault', wanting women to marry and live with but not taking any responsibility for going out there and grabbing it.

To be honest, I think some feminists are aliens. They don't live on the same planet as we do. But I also think some women are just genuinely human, in the greatest sense. Of course we get the girls that'll be like 'wow, rights, lets take this to the extreme just cause we can', and that's not 'women's rights', that's an avocation of female supremacy.

The world's changing. It's gonna take a while to settle down but to be honest I'm not a misogynist, I'm not a feminist, and I'm certainly not one for accepting the status-quo or having usual perspectives on the world. If I want something to change or I disagree, I'll say it.

But i can't blame women for the world's problems if I don't even try to take a stand and make a place in the world for myself.

Some women are idiots, and I tell them that. But most just genuinely want the same freedoms a man has, and mostly, in fact, they want men to be accepting and to welcome them into the new world with open arms.

When all's said and done, it boils down to a simple premise.

Men are bigger, fitter, faster, stronger and more dominant than women are. I suppose they're just kind of sick of us abusing that power so much.

I know I'll always be part of the bigger, fitter, faster and stronger gender. I don't need to show it off and use it so relentlessly to still be that. You know?

Where did I blame anyone for my ineptitude?

If I'm inept I blame it on who everyone blames it on..Obamacare.

That's a pretty pathetic view of men you have. What kind of infidel (Paul's words, not mine) can't man up and take care of his family? Why do you automatically assume that if a woman is capable that it means that a man is incapable?

Both genders are to work together for the good of the kingdom. I support your calling to be a strong man of God. Stop condemning my gender.

Are you a feminist or a supporter? Why? Because feminists and gay rights activists supporting same sex marriage, have done a masterful hatchet job on God's institution of marriage and the right for the husband to rule the household. That's not my belief ... it God's commandment. As much power given to women by the secular government to women (marriage & relationships), yet American women are the least satisfied, miserable, frustrated, depressed and etc. because they can't get men to bow and worship them in order to accomplish the American Dream: marriage, children, house and see the family grow. Is this God's wrath against them for disrupting His foundation & survival of mankind. I was there on the sideline when the feminists began flexing their muscles telling supporters that they can make it without a man and etc. 1st_still water is correct in what he said. You are only 33 years old and don't have a clue what the women movement stood for because you weren't there. In the very beginning, most of the top leaders of movement were Jewish and married, and their message was mild in wanting equal pay and entry into the job market. At a later stage during the movement hardcore lesbians took over and showed how much they hated men with their policies. It got so bad that many of the first stage activists got out of the movement altogether, because they weren't interested in destroying the family unit like the hardcore lesbians .

I generally don't go for this blanket statement stuff. But I sort of have to agree with you in the sense that modern feminism is radical. It's dangerous.

My grandmother was really proud of what the suffragettes did, and after that, feminism became a lot to do with trying to cut out violence in the home against women and marital rape and all that kinda stuff. Which I thought was a fantastic cause and I admire these women.

But nowadays, hardcore feminism is really just a bunch of women who advocate female supremacy. That's not the same as me saying I don't advocate equal rights, because I do. But definitely, modern feminism isn't the way to fair and equal rights. It's the way to enmity between sexes.

If we want fair and equal rights in the true sense, then something like human rights activism, which is inclusive of fighting for the rights of ALL people, would be a great step up from some Animal Farm-esque proposition of fighting for the equality of one party above another.

Excellent Post!! One of the reasons why the Women's Rights Movement was very successful because many men agree with the agenda of the early stage (issues you mentioned), then it took a U turn for the worst when the hardcore lesbians took over.

Exactly! Though I have one comment for you, just something be aware of. Lesbianism isn't inherently synonymous with hardcore feminism, because not all hardcore feminists are lesbians, and not all lesbians are hardcore feminists. And the first lesbians weren't all hardcore feminists, and the first hardcore feminists weren't all lesbians.

Yes I understand where you are coming from, you are correct. I remember years ago on a secular chat board that a particular feminist had a vicious hatred for men ... because she was raped and her anger toward men spilled over too often.

Thanks for listening.

I'm glad somebody understands the difference between radical feminism and women's rights. The two seem to get really confused nowadays.

I will be that oddball woman and agree with you. I admire the women (and men) who led the suffrage movement and I will always be grateful for all they suffered so I could have more rights--names like Alice Paul and Lucy Burns always strike a strong feeling of gratitude in my heart. They are truly inspirational women to me. They worked to help women get the right to vote and to be protected from the types of violence in marriage that you listed.

I also disagree with the hardcore feminists. I don't want to want to be the head of my household. I don't want supremacy over my husband. I want to be treated like a person who has real feelings and valid ideas. I want to be respected by my husband. I want to be cherished by my husband. If need be, I want to be protected by my husband. I love that my husband is a Godly man who loves me as Christ loves the Church. He knows he is second only to the Lord in my heart, as it should be. He does not tell me what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. He does not demand that I do everything as he says. He treats me with respect and I treat him with respect in return.

Just my two cents. It will probably get me in trouble with a lot of the other ladies on the site but, this is how I feel.

God Bless.

I'm glad to hear it. I always believed that underneath the amount of fodder, popular opinion and social pressure we have to think and do certain things, that everybody desires pretty much the same. Loads of people are just afraid to admit it, y'know. It's a funny thing. We make up all these social things and all these constructs and when we come in at night they have us exhausted, and very few people in life ever get to really understand the inner person; what we truly think and feel, and what we really want to question and how we actually view the world.

People get all caught up in what's hip or cool or 'normal' or maybe not normal, just for the sake of being different. But so much of it I think is to do with trend and how trend leads to social acceptance and being part of the group and blah-dee-blah.

I got to the point where I was like 'can't be bothered anymore'. I am what I am.

Anyway, all I'm saying is I suspect a lot more people secretly feel like you do.

Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.

Oh, yes. I understand exactly what you are talking about. A lot of people tend to stick with what society believes because they don't want to be questioned about why they are different, like being different is a bad thing;). I learned a long time ago that I do not have to follow what society considers to be the right thing.

I am happy with who I am. I am happy with my life. Why would I want to change things if I am happy?

I agree--there are probably more people who agree with us than we even know.

Wow what a great post.

I totally agree with the men here.
Since women are getting more educated and capable, it's better they marry men who are of equal calibre or higher so that they can at least respect the man and be able to submit to him.

As a Christian woman, then, marry a guy who's only very highly educated and makes enough money to take care of everything.

Clearly, men who are of lower stature than the woman, would not be able to handle a woman with a graduate degree. She'd be too powerful in the sense, she might think and disagree with the man.

So women should not marry such men, so they won't feel inept
:)

Most of the girls I've gone out with are waaaay higher than me on the professional/financial totem pole. This is just dating of course, but in my experience....it's absolutely no different than dating someone that has as crappy of a job as I do. lol

It's all perspective. Feminism has made it harder for a woman to marry an educated stable man who can take care of her.

That's true, but women don't need men to take care of them anymore if they don't want to live like that. That was almost impossible for a woman to do before the whole equality movement kicked off. Even if they were better qualified for a good paying job, they wouldn't get it back in the day just because they were female. Sure we have to deal with the militant man hating wing of them now, but there was a lot of admirable things accomplished despite the bad apples.

Well clearly, your views meant that you didn't grudge them their being educated as well. You saw them as human beings too, instead of feeling insecure.

Then stuff like a job, a high education, money etc would become secondary in the light of good character.

I think any woman would be lucky to be with a Christian guy who not only honours God but supports and pushes her to do her best, rather than blaming her success as the cause of the rich-poor gap.

Lesley Gore - You Don't Own Me, recorded in 1964 found on the album "Lesley Gore Sings Of Mixed-Up Hearts".

-Along with Betty Friedan's book The Feminine Mystique (which was published shortly before this song's release), this song can be considered one of the many things that helped begin the Women's Liberation Movement, despite the fact that the movement did not really take off until a decade later. This song is one of the very first songs in which a woman demands her independence from her man.
-This was Gore's last US Top 10 hit. Her biggest hit was "It's My Party."
-Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton, and Bette Midler sang this together in the 1996 film The First Wives Club.
-This was written by John Madara and Dave White Tricker. Madara wrote some movie scores, and Tricker was a former member of Danny And The Juniors.
-Quincy Jones produced this.

LYRICS:
You don't own me, I'm not just one of your many toys
You don't own me, don't say I can't go with other boys

Don't tell me what to do
Don't tell me what to say
Please, when I go out with you
Don't put me on display,
'Cause You don't own me, don't try to change me in any way
You don't own me, don't tie me down 'cause I'd never stay

I don't tell you what to say
I don't tell you what to do
So just let me be myself
That's all I ask of you
I'm young and I love to be young
I'm free and I love to be free
To live my life the way I want
To say and do whatever I please

A-a-a-nd don't tell me what to do
Oh-h-h-h don't tell me what to say
And please, when I go out with you
Don't you dare put me on display

Hey, I don't tell you what to say
I don't tell you what to do
So just let me be myself
That is all that I ask of you

I am young and I love to be young
I'm free and I love to be free
To live my life the way I want
To say and do whatever...

This is definitely not what I meant or said lol.

There's no reason an educated woman can't respect a less educated man. And women shouldn't 'do' anything. Respect shouldn't have to depend on educational prowess. There's no reason that an educated person and an uneducated person can't get married.

I did say that educated people tend to group together and that was a point I was making, but I never told anybody that women should 'do' anything or 'be' any certain way. BE what you are. That's all.

I mean, my brother's fiancé has an honours degree in the sciences and he works maintaining industrial waste disposal machines. They'll be getting married soon.
