The bad part about online schooling is you can ignore a subject for a while. Say, Math...I have. Well, I'm about to do some math for the first time in....a while. Yikes. Here goes nothing. My goal is to get 2-3 lessons of math done each week.

Did anyone hear that a USA team member had to break his way out of his bathroom in Sochi? So many things have gone wrong... Doesn't the Olympic committee have supervisors who check up on the site? Who make sure buildings have all the walls they should, who make sure doors unlock, cars are able to park, and the mafia doesn't try to collect "protection" money?

I saw that on the news. It sounds like nothing was prepared over there. There was also a news story in the Los Angeles Times about families who were "Relocated" to make room for the Olympic's. I think 3 families were given a total of 152 thousand to split three ways to find new places to live. They're all living in small apartments now.

I didn't like it when they had the Summer Olympics in China either. I think if the country has a disregard for human rights, then no Olympics for them. I bet next summer Olympics will be in North Korea!

By no Olympics for them, I don't mean the athletes, I mean the corrupt countries hosting the games.

I'm at a new branch for work now, so I'm getting used to all the customers. It's a little intimidating for me when the other tellers know all these people by name and can be chatty with them and I'm just standing there, all awkward and trying to join in when I can. I know that all comes with time. I just hate it in the meantime.

One young lady came in today. Cute and sweet as could be. She had a bunch of cash to deposit, a lot of $1 bills. After she left, I asked the other tellers if she was a waitress or something. One of them looked up and sort of hesitated. I said, "Oh...she's the other thing." What brings in $1 bills are waitresses...and strippers. She's a pole dancer.

And I actually got kind of mad. Not at her, not even at the men who come to watch her (I mean, sort of at that, but not to the point where I don't see them as humans with hurting souls). Not at the fact that she can make more in a weekend than I do in a week (I used to be bothered by that, but honestly her respect, dignity, and body are worth more than that, a worth not put into cash), I was just...upset that it's a thing. I know it's not really anything new, someone choosing to sell their body in exchange for money. But it bothered me. I think I will be praying for her.

We try as a church service to preach to them here in downtown. When we talk to them, they're SO broken and lost, but are SO good in hiding it cuz that's their life n' their work. I'm not giving her any excuse, neither will I judge her, lest I will be judged. But I guess you are right, they need LOTS of prayers.... :)

when i lived in vegas, my home church had an amazing ministry/program for all performers of that ilk. those women changed my life forever--as one often said, little girls don't say "i want to be a stripper when i grow up".

i really wish there were more churches offering ministries to help these women.

So tonight I needed to do some shopping, but I got myself kinda dirty at work so I needed to take a shower first. After I got out of the shower, I was sitting on the couch putting my shoes on and next thing I know I wake up and it's already past 9 O'clock. *sigh* So much for shopping, or doing anything productive tonight...
