So is misogyny. In general, people of both genders being selfish, controlling, and power-hungry is really bad for marriages.

Looking for foreign brides has been a lucrative market for many American men. Many of these military servicemen are coming home with foreign brides. Catalog brides are also very popular. In the end, these uncooperative American women are getting the worst of the deal. I have seen some of these foreign brides and my jaw dropped. Body weight proportioned to height; educated with B.A. or M.A.; speak very good to excellent English; and very eager to work with their men. American women have a bad reputation overseas as being uncooperative, repulsive, combative, greedy and vengeful. In reality, men have some great choices and need to pursue them. You will be surprised as to how many foreign college women are looking to grab an American husband in college.

You cannot be a feminist and of Christ but be in accordance to God's love yes women have rights and play an equal role but the headship is given to the man but it is not to be used in being abusive for we are of Christ and I agree on love not harshness although the house must be in order by the wife in submission to the man and the husband loving the wife but not to the point of compromising the faith for we must love Christ above all ..

Feminism was started by tea-totalling Christian women who were prolife and sought equal protection under the law. The church did not care enough about women to support the movement, so a more radical element took over. Can you imagine how painful it was to these women that their husbands gave the right to vote to men that they hated before sharing it with the women who gave them life and shared their beds?

The marriage intitution is as old as mankind and established by God. The institution of feminism is about 50 years old and it was designed by Satan to destroyed the institution of marriage established by God. No middle ground here.

i am a feminist and a follower of Jesus Christ and I will stand against misogyny and misinterpretation of Scripture for the rest of my life. God has called me to work with the hurting and broken, and that includes any who have been hurt by the injustices perpetuated in the Christian church by people who twist scripture to make it appear that there are "roles" and that women must be continue to be hurt by men who abuse power in marriage.

My husband supports my ministries, and is a man of God I respect and love. Although he does not understand my passion against injustice, he knows that I have been called to take a stand, and to help the hurting.

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Gal 3:28

Have you ever actually read a history book? Feminism goes back well over a hundred years ago with Margaret Fuller, Francis Williard, and Susan B. Anthony, among others.

That is sounding dangerously close to human trafficking.

When it comes to the history of feminism I will embarrass you because I am Sociology major with an extensive background in the various movements in the 60's & 70's. And I was there when the "power movement" among women initiated in the 60's but gain strength in the 70's. The power movement for the Women Rights Movement was in the 60's & 70's. The same can be said of the Civil Rights Movement with Blacks.

no kidding. because there are SO many fairy tale endings that arise from "buy-a-bride" outfits.

yikes.
That just shows how much some American men are fed up with feminism. The best weapon against American feminism is just to avoid them at all cost ... and this bother many American women a great deal. Without a man to abuse, manipulate and control, they have NO POWER. There is a rather large % of women who are living alone without a man. I would pick a foreign woman as a mate or wife over an American woman anyday and many American men are beginning to feel this way also. This is a free country and American women can order foreign men also. No one is stopping them.

I think this thread is the perfect example of gaslighting. Many here (not all) are using hateful, abusive, controlling words to try to convince you that THEY are the ones being abused. It's crazy-making, and it's wrong.

Yes, there are abusive women. There are also abusive men. Let's just agree that people in general can be abusive. It is a complete injustice that abused men are unlikely to be believed by law enforcement or their communities. With fewer than 7% of all abusers ever seeing the inside of a jail cell, abused women aren't believed very much either.

It does no good to point fingers at entire people groups, other than to bring awareness on LIKELIHOODS. There is no cause for everyone to bear the blame for the evils of a few. If we just respect and love each other as Christ commands us to, we can work together to care for the wounded and try to prevent abuse from even happening.

Be careful with your "dream" woman mail order bride. We had a friend who got one from the Philippines. She was a Jehovah's Witness, but didn't let him know until she had him finance bringing all her family to Canada. Then she divorced him and took him for everything, leaving him with subsistence living in his retirement.

You get what you want. I warned him, and he did not listen, and he tells me over and over he knew what I was saying was from God. So warning any of you against this travesty. God is not mocked! Do not buy a mail order bride from any country!

Both sides of the spectrum are risky and they will have to their homework to make it work. There are some mail order brides that do work and others that do not. Nevertheless, I would take my chances with a foreign mate living in this country as to mail order bride. The American laws on the books are very hostile and just anti-male in nature. Why put up with it when you can go around it.

if your desire is to purchase a foreign wife, i would encourage you to do so. godspeed.

i would prefer that men who hold such opinions not waste the time of my christian sisters. if your idea of a partnership, marriage, or even team involves buying a woman's (apparent) affections then it sounds like a perfect match for you.

as for myself, i prefer not to stereotype the entire opposite gender based upon my own limited experiences. : )
