Was it God's will for my friends to suffer like this?

People are themselves and as people we are a mess. We get caught up in our mess, get overwhelmed, and instead of running to Christ we look for something to fill it. We hurt others in the process. Yet God never gives up. I'm sorry for your friend.

This decision to drink that much was his own. Maybe is a good thing that other friends are suffering as this is a real example of the consequences of our actions. Sometimes people need something bad to see the truth. Prayer for those who are suffering due to the actions of this one, is a good way to ask God to intervene so that this doesn't happen to anyone else.

No. It is not a good thing my friends have been suffering. Sure this incident is a wake up call, but why do people have to go through this kind of pain just because one person messed up, especially when it's his fault. My friend knew what he was getting himself into, and he knew what he would leave behind if he overdosed: a town full of people suffering over the loss of a near and dear friend. It was never God's will.

In spite of that, I do agree with you. This, is a very real and sad example of the consequences of our actions. May God heal the hearts of those that not even time may be able to fix.

You're right, It was never God's will, and only God can ease the suffering of those affected. If people didn't care about him, there would be no suffering. Just shows how much he was cared for, and what he threw away. We need to all remember that our actions don't involve just us, but everyone around us. God bless

Exactly. It really shows how the actions we do can either leave a positive or negative impact. Every now and then, I still get saddened thinking about what this guy's friends and family had to go through (and what many are still going through after nearly a month). Just imagine how God feels for those people. I am just glad that He will continue to walk with them through this.
