No worries! I derail all the time. But I think there is a difference between the conversation taking a turn (good) and someone bringing up an unrelated topic to argue (grrrr).
Immature? Really? Let's see what God's view is on the situation, shall we?
Genesis 3:6 says, "So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate." emphasis mine
What does this mean? Well, Matthew Henry states it plainly enough:
1 Timothy 2:14 tells us, "And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression." Here, we plainly see that to keep saying, "Eve is the reason we're all sinners" is false. Adam sinned willingly, Eve, though she did truly sin, she was deceived. How pompous is man to blame Eve for their actions! It seems to me that men who want to domineer women and crush them, they turn to Eve and pour all the blame on her, yet we see who willingly forsook God and did what he wanted to do, regardless of knowing what was right and wrong.
I could go on for awhile, but I'll close with this. Romans 5:12-15 states, "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. "
Notice that Eve is not mentioned even a single time. Not once. But who is mentioned many times? Why, Adam, of course? And what does it say? It says that through ONE MAN sin entered. Not through ONE WOMAN.
And, again, he didn't eat it because he loved her. He ate it because he wanted to and he could care less what would happen between him and God and him and Eve. How do I know? Because that's the reason ALL OF US sin. Because in the moment, we could care less what it means to God and others.
Her response was accurate, and in accordance with scripture (aka. God's view). Eve was deceived, and Adam transgressed willfully. Please treat our dear sister Mystdancer with respect and don't derail the thread.
If a man works a desk job, and provides for his family - pretty sure that's honoring to God
Jesus insulted people? Hmmm. I don't think so.
That is not Jesus. Jesus has never insulted anyone.
Not meaning to derail the thread but surely the following are insults?
And yet, you did.

Using the definition above, Jesus was never insulting, though people may have certainly felt that way.

For those just tuning in: Though the OP contains a lot of Biblical concepts, the article is satire and should be interpreted as such.
(hmm. something's a little inconsistent here. ahh well...it's probably JUST ME lol)

The link in the original post indicated that it's satire but the original poster removed that information from her post for some reason ...The article or blog she quoted had NOT a sight of being satire... Inconsistency?![]()
-> White privilege - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
White privilege (or white skin privilege) refers to the set of societal privileges that white people are argued to benefit from beyond those commonly experienced by people of color in the same social, political, or economic spaces (nation, community, workplace, income, etc.). The term denotes both obvious and less obvious unspoken advantages that white individuals may not recognize they have, which distinguishes it from overt bias or prejudice. These include cultural affirmations of one's own worth; greater presumed social status; andfreedom to move, buy, work, play, and speak freely. The concept of white privilege also implies the right to assume the universality of one's own experiences, marking others as different or exceptional while perceiving oneself as normal. It can be compared and/or combined with the concept of male privilege.
The link from the original post says Titus 2:5 and I've always enjoyed your teaching sister Angela! If you want me to go into the Greek again on the disputed passages, I would be happy to do it.
