5[SUP]th[/SUP] day=19[SUP]th[/SUP] of the month: Numbers 29:26 (KJV)
[SUP]26 [/SUP]And on the fifth day nine bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:
To me, it is amazing that Paul lists nine characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. Paul also claims Jesus as the firstfruits, foretelling the reign of Christ in 1 Corinthians 15:20-26. This would relate directly to the food of firstfuits during the implementation of the “Feast of weeks,” beginning (with my best estimation) the eighth day after the Passover Sabbath, in the first month of the Hebrew year, being the 23[SUP]rd[/SUP] of Nisan. (see Exodus 19:1and 16, Exodus 24:4,13, and 16, and count 49 days for yourself.
8+29+12=49 Also see the reminder to Israel in Exodus 34:22)
The number 5 represents grace, God’s goodness, and Torah instructions.
The 5[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means reaching out to obtain revelations from God.
The number 9 represents the “fruit of the Spirit,” and the divine completeness from the Father.
The 9[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means to hold and carry what has been given.
The number 19 represents faith.
The 19[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means the time sequence given for us to believe the truth.
5. We reach out to obtain the understanding of God’s instructions.
9. The “fruit of the Spirit” is singular, and we hold it, carry it, and walk with it every day.
(Galatians 5:22-23
19. Faith is a gift of the Spirit. It is increased as we travel in the experiences given to test us.
(2 Corinthians 10:15)

6[SUP]th[/SUP] day=20[SUP]th[/SUP] of the month: Numbers 29:29 (KJV)
[SUP]29 [/SUP]And on the sixth day eight bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish:
It is interesting to know that Peter talks about building your faith by adding to it, and giving a promise when we build upon this gift God has given in 2 Peter 1:5-10. We could entertain the thought that this might have been the very day that Jesus had a conversation with Nicodemus about being born again in John 3:1-21. In verse 10 of this same chapter Jesus questions Nicodemus rhetorically by asking why he didn’t know about being born again, him being a “master of Israel.”
The number 6 represents the weakness of man, the manifestation of sin, and the evils of Satan.
The 6[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means to hook, and add securely.
The number 8 represents a new birth, and new beginnings.
The 8[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means a separation between right and wrong influences.
The number 20 represents redemption.
The 20[SUP]th[/SUP] letter represents a conscious commitment of the mind because of the new birth.
6. Through the Word of God we recognize our true state, the revelation of sin, and receive better understanding of how our adversary’s subtle deceptions can be detected. Through this enlightenment we run to the security that is promised through Christ Jesus.
8. God promises us a new life of everlasting security when we are in His presence.
20. We are committed to Christ because we are bought with the price of His life.

7[SUP]th[/SUP] day=21[SUP]st[/SUP] day of the month: Numbers 29:32 (KJV)
[SUP]32 [/SUP]And on the seventh day seven bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish:
We arrive at the seventh day of the “feast of Tabernacles” during the seventh month, with seven bullocks. This day is also the twenty-first day of the seventh month, and can be divided by seven to equal three, God the father, and His Son Christ Jesus being resurrected from the dead, and ascending into heaven so His Father would send to us the Holy Spirit. From the Father came the Son and the Spirit. When rightly dividing the Word of Truth we see that salvation comes from the three sevens, the Father’s perfection, the Son’s resurrection, and Spiritual completeness. Is that not a perfect plan or what? A total of 70 bullocks were sacrificed in these seven days representing “punishment and restoration of Israel,” the latter being prophecy during the millennial reign of Christ. It is world wide, depicting past, present, and future in universality. (Ezekiel 37:16-17) This is a plan of completion before the world was in existence. (John 17:5)
The number 7 represents resurrection, spiritual completeness, and the Fathers perfection.
The 7[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means food produced and harvested for nourishment.
The number 21 means exceeding sinfulness of sin
The 21[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means sharp press of consumption as in chewing up.
7. The fulfillment of everything previous to the resurrection of Christ, by Christ, makes all of this possible to be sustained, and for us to grow in this new life with Him. (Isaiah 25:8)
21. The destruction of devastating sin through sacrifice. (1 Corinthians 15:54)

We have addressed all but two letters in the Hebrew alphabet during these seven days of offerings concerning the Bullock. These two letters are the 14[SUP]th[/SUP] and 22[SUP]nd[/SUP] letters. The 14[SUP]th[/SUP] letter represents the seed that continues through the heirs and sons of Jacob. Taking into consideration that Jesus is the heir of God’s kingdom, we must also recognize the seed that died, and rose from the dead. Like any seed that is planted in the ground, it must die before new life sprouts and takes root. Colossians 1:18 puts it this way. “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
This sacrifice enables the Kingdom of God to continue, as the fulfillment of our heavenly Father’s covenant of promise. The last letter is the 22[SUP]nd[/SUP] letter of the Hebrew alphabet being a sign of crossed sticks. This is certainly the monumental signet of the cross on Calvary. The blood that was smeared on the door posts of each house in Exodus 12:7-12 resembles the way this 22[SUP]nd[/SUP] letter is written in Hebrew. By remembering that the night of the 15[SUP]th[/SUP] of the first month is Passover, we now know why God commands us to observe these things, and more, with our spiritual eyes, instituted by His instructions. So next, I’ll explain from the beginning, to the best of my ability, this divine plan that God set into motion that was, and is to be completed through His Son Christ Jesus.

In order to keep the Sabbath days in their proper perspective, I will quote Leviticus 23:24 and Leviticus 23:39. “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day (the fifteenth) shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day (the twenty-second) shall be a sabbath.” So the Feast of Tabernacles starts on a Sabbath day. Keep in mind that the first day of the week is the second day in the feast. The second day relates to the first day of creation, and so forth.
Sabbath the 15[SUP]th [/SUP]day being the first day of the feast. To summarize the reason for this week of reflection of convocation, we must start by understanding that Christ Jesus is the first and the last, and everything in-between as time is calculated. (Revelation 1:5-8) He speaks with authority in verse eight saying; “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” I often think of Colossians 1:12-19 when I address the fact that Christ Jesus, our beloved Savior, was given total responsibility by His Father to instigate and finish all that they had planned together before the first day of creation. Jesus Christ was responsible to do all things that God His Father directed Him to accomplish in detail. Even though creation hadn’t begun, both Father and Son knew the finite details of how all things would have to be done in order to accomplish their purpose. All things would be done to prove their love for mankind, and how to save us from certain death because of their love. To prove this enormous truth, we read in John 17:5 “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” The Greek word for “glorify” is “doxazo” meaning to honor. It is an extension of the word “doxo” meaning very apparent. This relates to the “Doxology” that some denominations sing; “Praise God from whom all blessing flow, praise Him all creatures here below.” Apparently God bestows high honor to Christ Jesus, His Son, to be the creator of all things according to His directives given before the journey of time began. This is comparable with the four hundred and thirty years Israel was enslaved to the Egyptians including the first Passover. By that time, all of Israel had been born into the sinful nature of the Egyptians. The reality for us today is found in Romans 3:23 saying, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” This is a freedom call unto salvation before we start walking in the newness of life. It is God’s creation, His rest, His protection, all in the plan before the physical heavens and earth were ever created. It is a time to focus on the past, and present, which gives us hope for the future. We are in a time period that lasts for seven days, given to us to reflect on the history of truth, the present state of truth in personal life experiences, and looking forward to the completion of all things that our Father and His Son Jesus Christ planned together before time began. This first day of the feast represents convocation between Father and Son before the beginning of time, knowing that there would be a need to salvage mankind.

First day of the week is the 16[SUP]th[/SUP] being the second day of the feast. And now the journey begins. Heaven and Earth are created, and the light appears to define the difference between darkness and light. In John 8:12b Jesus says “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” All plants and seeds were created during the time of the beginning; see Genesis 2:5. Israel leaves captivity, and is protected, and led with a cloud during the day and a pillar of fire to light their way during the night. In kind, it is our reciprocation to the love of God, and our responsibility to watch God’s actions of love, and protection through Christ Jesus. By reacting in this way, we know that He loved us before we loved Him as 1 John 4:19 states; “We love him, because he first loved us.”

Second day of the week is the 17[SUP]th[/SUP] being the third day of the feast. God divides the waters with an atmosphere, then made a mist to water the ground. While Israel is gathered together, the Egyptians were in hot pursuit, then precisely at the right time, God gives them an escape route through the Red Sea. In Exodus 14:13 we read, “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD.” While God divides the waters of the Red Sea, the pillar of fire that was once in front of them goes behind them to keep the Egyptians at bay. By following, and reaching out to His instructions we can truthfully claim victory after victory against our enemy because of His power alone. 1 John 5:3-5 says it all in my opinion. “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” They survived by following the instructions, so likewise we survive by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. (Deuteronomy 8:3, and Matthew 4:4)

Third day of the week is the 18[SUP]th[/SUP] being the fourth day of the feast. One mass of earth comes above the surface of the water making it fit for the plants, and seeds to grow that were previously created. We can compare this to the parable of the sower and the seed in Matthew 13:19-23 depicting the heart as the ground, and the seed as the Word of God. After crossing the Red Sea, Israel was very thirsty after three days. This would be the same day and month when Jesus rose from the tomb. God showed Moses a tree (relating to the cross of Jesus) and cast the tree into bitter waters and the waters became fit to drink. God said if Israel would obey His instructions (commandments) that they would be free from the diseases that were prevalent in Egypt. Remember that Egypt represents world’s values. When Israel arrived at Elim, they found seven wells, and seventy palm trees. The seven wells represent resurrection, spiritual completeness, and the Father’s perfection. The seventy palm trees represent Egypt’s punishment, and the restoration of Israel, depicting a new birth, or being born again as relating to the conversation between Nicodemus and Jesus. In another conversation Jesus is talking with a Samaritan woman at a well, and He says to her, “give me to drink” clarifying that He is the living water. “Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” (John 4:7 and 10b)

Fourth day of the week is the 19[SUP]th[/SUP] being the fifth day of the feast. The sun is created to rule the day, and the moon and stars are created to rule the night so that there is greater, and lesser light to keep mankind from total darkness. It is interesting that the earth circles the sun once a year, the moon circles the earth about 12 times a year with exceptions of leap years for the adjustment of seasons and times, yet is constant according to the original creation cycle. The greater light is stationary, and the lesser light reflects God’s governmental perfection. All things created were now in place to sustain the living creatures that were to fill the earth. Faith can be increased according to the experiences in this circle of time God provides. As we live, remembering His faithfulness in our past, we become more confident of the provisions He will provide for our future. This is rightly defined in 2 Corinthians 10:15a as we read “Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased.” Jesus is the greater light, but we are Son worshippers not sun worshippers as in some pagan religions. Ezekiel 8:16 defines the pagan practice of sun worship. “And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.” His words tell us of the proper Son to worship in John 8:12 when He says, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” The world was made to revolve around Christ Jesus, as the greater light, just like the earth revolves around the sun. As followers of the Son we are to reflect the greater light of truth in like manner as the moon, being the lesser light, reflects the greater light of the sun. It is the physical creation being a parable to spiritual perception. And Jesus said; “If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?” (John 3:12) Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:14-16 describes this light very well. “ Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” We are His reflection.

Fifth day of the week is the 20[SUP]th[/SUP] being the sixth day of the feast. The sea creatures, and birds are created, creating a perfect ecological system of balance. Adding to, or subtracting from God’s perfect original creation is sin, and we should understand that it continues its perfect balance by the Word of its Creator, and not the EPA. Fish will keep the water clean, and birds will eat insects, and on it goes to the deepest scientific research man has ever known, and more. Further, the proper balance of all things involves loving God with all our heart, mind, and soul, and loving our neighbor as ourselves. The instructions contained in the covenant begin in Exodus 19:8 when all Israel says they will do all of what the Lord will instruct. Reading through, and including Exodus chapter 23 is the beginning of the ordinances of this balance of love toward God and mankind. This was necessary because Israel had learned imbalance/transgression for hundreds of years while enslaved in Egypt. The evils of Satan needed to be reckoned with as Paul writes in Galatians 3:19. The mercy of God becomes quite clear as Paul says that the law was given because of transgressions. As then, God has provided for us a wall of protection by offering a new life through Jesus, His only begotten Son. We are bought with a price, and transformed by a daily renewing of the mind. Paul says it best in Romans 12:2. “be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Sixth day of the week is the 21[SUP]st[/SUP] being the seventh day of the feast. At this point in creation we see all things in place that gives a healthy sustainable life for animals and humans that our Creator will form from the earth on this day. One may ask why earth bound mammals, and humans were made on the same day, even questioning their similarities as no different from one another. Humans, however, are very unique for we have been made in “Their” image unlike the earthly mammals that walk the face of the earth as we do. (Genesis 1:26) Nevertheless, there is good reason for these similarities previously mentioned. It has everything to do with the unblemished clean animals that were sacrificed within the man made temple walls describing the “Old Covenant” according to the directives of God. The priest of the “Old Covenant” made a sacrifice for himself, being human as we are, so he would be acceptable in the sight of God, thus enabling him to perform his duties. Unlike the physical temple worship, Jesus Christ needed no purification process in that He was already unblemished and pure in God’s sight, yet He still sacrificed of Himself. Today, we are the true temple of the “New Testament” yet with similarities pertaining to the old that was man made. To see the parallel I quote Hebrews 8:1-3. “Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.” This is all fine, and good but where do we fit in concerning this Old and New Covenant that now are completed through Christ Jesus? In the old temple men and women also brought animal sacrifice for their sins, and offerings to sustain the priesthood. Now in the new temple we present ourselves as a sacrifice. . In 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 and Romans 12:1 we bring this together in context and it says; “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” So in similarity we see why both animals and humans were both made from the same dust of the earth. Keeping this man made temple of the old in mind, allow me to quote Hebrews 8:6-7 and 13 taking out the italicized words for a better understanding. “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better which was established upon better promises. For if that first had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. In that he saith, A new, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.” [End quote] I believe the writer of Hebrews was referring to the old and new temple and not the old and new covenant. For if the God’s word of the old covenant were “ready to vanish away” then Jesus would never have said that man shall live by “every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” The old was made by humans, and the new is made by the Son of God. Instructions for the building of the temple are included in the tablets of stone that God gives to Israel calling it the “Ten Words” in the Hebrew language. These “Ten Words” are the blood testimony of temple worship ordinances, and all of what Moses wrote is not just the Ten Commandments as we know them. Israel agrees to this covenant principle of righteous judgments that divide them from the pagan practices that they were once exposed to while enslaved. This is the institution of governmental perfection by, and through Christ Jesus. We are saved through faith and not by the works of the law as defined in Romans 3:27, but by understanding the spiritual concepts of the “Ten Words” written on stone, and the word recorded by Moses, we continue our journey away from the bondage of sin.

Good post brother Just-me,

I believe that the offerings had everything to do with the state of man, with only clean animals being offered in every type of offering, (sin, peace, freewill etc...) representing the state of man, and the purity of Christ. That would also make sense as to why man and animals were created the same day.

I did a study on the Carnal mind and it tied right into the sacrifices.

The bible uses animals in many instances to give us a picture of our own state.

Hebrew defines the word Carnal in one way according to Strong's Concordance.

Result of search for "carnal": 4904 mishkab mish-kawb' from 7901; a bed (figuratively, a bier); abstractly, sleep; by euphemism, carnal intercourse:--bed((-chamber)), couch, lieth (lying) with.

Greek translates the word carnal in a few different forms.

7dioti to fronhma thV sarkoV ecqra eiV qeon tw gar nomw tou qeou ouc upotassetai oude gar dunatai
8:7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8oi de en sarki onteV qew aresai ou dunantai
8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

From the passage above it is translated as:

4561 // sarx // sarx // sarx //

probably from the base of 4563 ; TDNT - 7:98,1000; n f

AV - flesh 147, carnal 2, carnally minded + 5427 1, fleshly 1; 151

1) flesh (the soft substance of the living body, which covers
the bones and is permeated with blood) of both man and beasts
2) the body
2a) the body of a man
2b) used of natural or physical origin, generation or
relationship
2b1) born of natural generation
2c) the sensuous nature of man, "the animal nature"
2c1) without any suggestion of depravity
2c2) the animal nature with cravings which incite to sin
2c3) the physical nature of man as subject to suffering
3) a living creature (because possessed of a body of flesh)
whether man or beast
4) the flesh, denotes mere human nature, the earthly nature of man apart
from divine influence, and therefore prone to sin and opposed to God

4559. sarkikos sar-kee-kos' from 4561; pertaining to flesh, i.e. (by extension) bodily, temporal, or (by implication) animal, unregenerate:--carnal, fleshly.

The outcome of repentance from sin should bring changes. Only then can we walk according to the spirit and not the flesh.

I also believe that the account of Abraham in Genesis 13 has more to teach on this, However, I'm still seeking understanding in Christ in this.

Like those who were led out of Egypt, we need restoration and cleansing from pagan and carnal ways. YaHoVaH in His infinite wisdom, knew it would not be accomplished by any other means than Mercy and Patience from Him, and careful guidance.

The 10 Days of Awe, or Repentance, brought focus to inspecting our lives. Among the customs of this time, it is common to seek reconciliation with people you may have wronged during the course of the year. The Talmud maintains that Yom Kippur atones only for sins between man and God. To atone for sins against another person, you must first seek reconciliation with that person, righting the wrongs you committed against them if possible.

How can we find our way in such a fallen world? I find myself like Paul said, [SUP]"Romans7 15 [/SUP]For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I."

It wasn't easy for God's people in the desert. We are in a desert of another kind, but still in the desert, we have not arrived to the promised land. For why would we be told to persevere if we have already arrived? Reflecting on the Sabbaths and Feasts are reflecting on the ways and heart of Almighty.

Isiah 41 [SUP]10 [/SUP]Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

I copied and quoted just one of may of your mystical insights. I take it you are either practicing Kabbalist? Or maybe an up and coming rabbi learning his gematria? Maybe it's some other off shoot of the babylonian religion? Why can't people just leave their imagination and numerology out of scripture and simply share a reading of the plain text and leave it at that? Did you know faith comes by hearing the word of God? That verse was said when a very few but the wealthy could afford a book. It was back then read to the whole congregation of Israel INCLUDING the children. Two things should be noted, it said it was to read, not explained, or revealed by some mystical experience, so I would suggest start and stick with just a plain reading of the text. Two, since the children were to be included in the reading, it would seem to me the plain reading of the text should be able to be understood by a child. Why would think add to scripture numerology and or gematria into the reading?

During the same period of seven days, Israel was commanded to live in “booths,” describing where the “Feast of Tabernacles” received its name. It is also important to know that this first day of “booth” construction was a Sabbath day, which would be very laborious, yet would be a day of rest. According to tradition, this seems to be a clear-cut oxymoron, and one of those things that some might use to label some scriptures as contradictory. As humans, we have a nature to compare things with what we have experienced in the physical realm of our own life. With only tradition in mind we now are compelled to reconnoiter for understanding, and acceptance of the spiritual truth. We tend to relate the Sabbath day to rest, and not doing any work at all. As a child growing up on a farm, I can tell you that I worked both on Saturday and Sunday because feeding the cattle was a seven-day a week job. In relation we can see that Jesus worked on the Sabbath day also. In Matthew 12:10-13 and Luke 6:9 we see more than just a physical time of rest. “And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?” Then in the book of Hebrews, that describes the spiritual meaning of the physical law, we read “Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.” This rest indicates a 24/7 rest. We know that Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, and that the Sabbath was made for the human race, so to clarify the truth of the Sabbath one has only to understand Hebrews 4:10 which says, “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” So in the course of making “booths or succah,” one only needs to know that Israel was not doing their own work, but rather God’s work for good reason, as we will soon find out. The fall harvest had been completed, and it was the beginning of time to reflect on the goodness of God. The trumpets to gather Israel had been blown, and “atonement” had been accomplished. Together with the special sacrifices starting with thirteen bullocks, we continue by describing the spiritual meanings of the vegetation used in the making of these “tabernacles,” in which the children of God were to dwell in for seven days.

Leviticus 23:33-43 (KJV)

[SUP]34 [/SUP]Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.
[SUP]35 [/SUP]On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
[SUP]36 [/SUP]Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.
[SUP]37 [/SUP]These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
[SUP]38 [/SUP]Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
*40 And ye shall take you on the first day the *boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the **boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.
[SUP]41 [/SUP]And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.
[SUP]42 [/SUP]Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:
[SUP]43 [/SUP]That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

[h=2]Leviticus 23:*40 Direct from Hebrew[/h]And you shall take on the first day, citrus fruit branches of palm trees, and a tree branch - thick, and eve - river, and shall rejoice before the LORD your God - for seven days.
Leviticus 23:40 (CJB)
*40 On the first day you are to take choice fruit, palm fronds, thick branches and river-willows, and celebrate in the presence of ADONAI your God for seven days.

Nehemiah 8:15 (KJV)
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.
[h=2]Nehemiah 8:15 Direct from Hebrew[/h]Which will sound, and the sound will transfer all - their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying: - Take the mountain and brought me - olive leaves - tree oil and myrtle leaves and palm leaves and tree leaves thick: they should keep the Studs, as it is written.
Nehemiah 8:15 (CJB)
15 and that they were to announce and pass the word in all their cities and in Yerushalayim, "Go out to the mountains, and collect branches of olives, wild olives, myrtles, palms, and other leafy trees to make sukkot, as prescribed."

Before I go into the description of the foliage used for building these “tabernacles,” it is important to know that succah/cukkah is the actual dwelling. Succoth is the plural of succah denoting the place where booths were first built by Israel the day of their exit from Egypt. (Exodus 12:37-39) It would also be good for us to muse on how the booths might have been constructed. First the framework for the roof would be assembled with intertwined midsize branches. Then one by one, the four studs, or uprights would be attached to this frame of the roof, stabilizing them together with triangular braces, raising the framework of the roof overhead. At that point the assembly would need to be staked to the ground with rope, or cords as one would erect a tent with tie down straps, and stakes pounded into the ground. Last of all the small leaves and foliage would be fastened to the framework of the roof, and citrus fruit would be attached to the inside for freshness, and a type of repellant for bugs and flies.

Representations of Hebrew letters and numerical counterparts concerning the foliage used to build the “tabernacles for the feast are as follows.

I have taken the liberty of listing the Strong’s Concordance numbers followed by the chronological numbers of the Hebrew alphabet, for the spiritual definition of the word that describes the vegetation used for construction. There is a list, on post 338, of each letter and number used in each descriptive word that I will mention concerning the foliage used to build the tabernacles. As you have noticed, by the explanation of scriptures, there seemed to be a difference in where material for the booths was acquired, along with seemingly different vegetation. With deeper study, I have found that all the scriptures used match according to the original instruction given. As you read I pray that you are truly blessed, for this seven day feast clearly describes a believer’s life in relation to how we came to believe, and the struggles that we all have as we travel in this new life given to us by God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Trees=6086 16-18=[ets] tree (from its firmness) hence wood, or timber, firm, sticks, carpenter.
Studs 15-11-22 as a support to the structure
Pine=no Hebrew word, but related to the olive tree, when relating to original Hebrew. It can be translated as studs, or uprights from the olive, or cedar trees. This could be large foliage from either species.

In every case, the physical creation has spiritual meaning, and the wide scope portrayed in the meaning of studs and trees points directly to the framework that supports all the vegetation used to make the tabernacles/booths/sukkot. By living within this framework our life is truly a journey that hunts for equity, and justice, while weaving our way through the disorder of this world. We recognize the love of God that offers protection in a hostile environment, while keeping our focus on the promise that is in the light. We rest, ceasing from our own works, and commence doing His work by the instructions given. The cross of Jesus is the framework, and our cross is the journey that has significant spiritual meaning in this respect. Jesus knows woodworking. “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.” (Mark 6:3)
