NC apartment complex to check dog poop for DNA

A Wilmington apartment complex will soon be running DNA tests on dog poop to identify owners who don't clean up after their pooches do their business.


The StarNews of Wilmington reports The Reserve at Forest Hills will ask the complex's 100 dog owners to have their pets swabbed for a DNA sample.


Then, if poop found in the complex matches a pet, the owner will be fined and also will have to pay for the DNA testing which can cost up to $50.


The complex is managed by Blue Ridge Companies which also runs the program at some of its other complexes across the Southeast.


Blue Ridge regional manager Amy Ritchy says one of the most common complaints at complexes is dog poop on the ground.

As sad as it is.. this needed to be done at the university I attended.

Some of the doo-doo heads on campus apparently thought it was big sport to smear their own feces on the walls of the mens room on occasion - only certain mens rooms in certain buildings. At least I hope it was their own feces, I shudder to think if there was more than one perp, err, pooptrator involved.


So absolutely vile. I hope they got expelled. One learned to avoid certain bathrooms altogether.
