Okay so for 4 months ago my husband told me he doesn't love me anymore and doesn't want to be with me..we still live together, he been sleeping on the couch. We have a 2 year old son which complicates things. I don't want my son to come from a divided home! Anyways...I pleaded to god the other day and asked him please tell me what is your will for me. Is it your will that I divorce or stay married..I asked him to please speak to me through a vision dream something! Then Corinthians 7:9 came to me. I had no idea what verse that was. I just recently came to Christ and I don't know the bible well, mostly the book of mathew. Anyway so I thought maybe I just came up with the verse on my own but just in case I'll look it up, so I did. Corinthians 7:9 says..but if they can't contain let them married, for it is better to be married than to burn. The next verse says and I say to married not let the wife depart from her husband...but ! He showed me Cor. 7:9..I don't know if because I'm a woman we tend to dissect everything and look at all the possibilities, where men are more logic but do you think god is telling me to stay or that if I was to leave I could fall into lustful temptation with someone else? Lol..any ideas???

The bible is clear on divorce that it has to be for adulatory. One of the spouses has to commit adulatory in order for the other to be entitled for a divorce. However, if there's physical abuse for instance, then sometime the church takes it a case by case situation.

Praying for you and your family especially that you have a son that makes things complicated.

Jruiz, first of all, is your husband cheating on you? Has he ever? If he has, or is, then that is the ONLY applicable allowance God will make for divorce. He showed you Corinthians 7:9 for a reason. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 states: "And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, let not the wife depart from her husband. But if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband; and let not the husband put away his wife."

This means that if you leave him, you are to remain unmarried. 1 Corinthians 7:13-15 states: "and the woman who hath a husband that believes not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; else were your children unclean and now they are holy. But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under such bondage in such cases, but God hath called us to peace."

Your husband has told you he doesnt love you and doesnt want to be with you anymore. That means he has stopped believing in the marriage. For all intents and purposes he left the marriage several months ago. He has departed from you. He is the one who left the marriage. I wish you luck in trying to move on with your life. I hope you succeed. :)
