I love Psalm 46.10:

"Be still, and know that I am God."

In this rushing world, it is good to stop and meditate and remember Who God is, and what we are. The wonder is that He could send His beloved Son to redeem sinners.

Psalms 103:1-5
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. with every fiber in my being
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: eternal life, all that is good is from Thee
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; because of the sacrifice of Jesus
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Thank You, LORD
who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; His unmerited favor
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; I'll speak out Your Word Lord so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. Amen

What more could one ask for?????

Psalm 19
the testimony of the LORD is sure,
making wise the simple.
enlightening the eyes
clease thou me from secret faults
my strength, and my redeemer.

One of my favorites is Psalm 119, the longest (176 verses) chapter in the Bible. Organized religion does not like to admit this but context proves that the entirety of this Psalm, this longest chapter in scripture centers on the Law of the Lord, the laws, statutes and commandments of God almighty.

Law and word being used interchangeably in the Psalm.

I've also heard a musical version of Psalm 19.

My favorite Psalm is Psalm 91

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust. Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.

Didn't Elizabeth Elliott use verse 1 of this Psalm for her biography of Jim Elliott?

You sing Psalms in your church, maybe?

Blessings.
God gave me the gift of harmony - I personally don't think I have a great solo voice but thanks to God's gift I have been singing harmony since I was a child. If it is a solo I can make it a duet, if a duet I can make it a trio. I have a wide range and can sing up in the rafters and not quite to tenor. I love singing and wish I were in a group right now but I'm not. One of my posts is a poem for a friend that died back in September named Kathy. God knows I miss her so much as we used to sing together. Her suffering is over I suffer without her. Please pray that I can find someone or several to sing with for God's glory as I really do miss singing.

We are blessed in English to have a wealth of hymns and songs that can be sung in testimony, to the glory of God. Sorry about your friend.

Blessings.

Psalm 121:

"I lift up mine eyes unto the hills, Whence doth my help come?
My help [is] from Jehovah, maker of heaven and earth,
He suffereth not thy foot to be moved, Thy preserver slumbereth not.
Lo, He slumbereth not, nor sleepeth, He who is preserving Israel.
Jehovah [is] thy preserver, Jehovah [is] thy shade on thy right hand,
By day the sun doth not smite thee, Nor the moon by night.
Jehovah preserveth thee from all evil, He doth preserve thy soul.
Jehovah preserveth thy going out and thy coming in, From henceforth even unto the age!" [YLT]

Psalm 127:1
Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

A great verse to quote in prayer before a preaching service! We can't expect to achieve anything for Him unless the Lord Himself is in it.

Blessings.
