Thinking of Hillary running for president brought this old fable to mind. It happened with Bill Clinton, the 2nd time obama was elected and if hillary gets elected it will happen again. Been different spins put on this fable but they all have the same moral.

You knew I was a rattlesnake when you picked me up.
A young girl was trudging along a mountain path, trying to reach her grandmother’s house. It was bitter cold..., and the wind cut like a knife. When she was within sight of her destination, she heard a rustle at her feet.

Looking down, she saw a snake. Before she could move, the snake spoke to her. He said, "I am about to die. It is too cold for me up here, and I am freezing. There is no food in these mountains, and I am starving. Please put me under your coat and take me with you."

"No," replied the girl. "I know your kind. You are a rattlesnake. If I pick you up, you will bite me, and your bite is poisonous."

"No, no," said the snake. "If you help me, you will be my best friend. I will treat you differently."

The little girl sat down on a rock for a moment to rest and think things over. She looked at the beautiful markings on the snake and had to admit that it was the most beautiful snake she had ever seen.

Suddenly, she said, "I believe you. I will save you. All living things deserve to be treated with kindness."

The little girl reached over, put the snake gently under her coat and proceeded toward her grandmother’s house.

Within a moment, she felt a sharp pain in her side. The snake had bitten her.

"How could you do this to me?" she cried. "You promised that you would not bite me, and I trusted you!"

"You knew what I was when you picked me up," hissed the snake as he slithered away.
 
Nice allegory. I find it insane that he won a second term. It is like people are willingly blind to him. It is the strangest thing. I mean, you don't see all the foolish 'hope' things as much anymore, so they are aware that they were unwise to put hope in a mortal man, and a politician at that. Yet, it's like they don't want to admit their failure, and in their desperation to keep the presidency Democrat, they voted him in again. Folly, man is consumed with their own folly.

It is hard not to get a second term. Once in, you'll need 8 years to navigate out again.

Mystdancer, I've heard alot of ppl say that Obama is a/ the antiChrist. I say there's alot more than one anti-Christ one earth right now! :(

I don't believe he is the anti-Christ. I believe that he will play a major role in the anti-Christ's rise to power and ultimate reign. I don't label folks as the anti-Christ. I believe as you do, that there are many about, as the Bible tells us this is so. I think that, though I am sure there are valid signs, we won't know who he is until he has already risen to power and already has the world following him blindly and boldly.

If Obama is the anti-Christ, it would only make sense if he admitted that he wasn't born in America, because the Bible tells us that the anti-Christ will come out of a certain nation, and it isn't America. Add to this that America is greatly hated and I daresay that the world at large would not bow down to an American leader.

mystdancer, Barack Obama was NOT born in America!! He was born in KENYA!! I believe he is, or could be, one of the many anti-christs in the world today. Just because he's president does'nt mean he will be the one to usher in the true anti-christ. And Barack Obama is not even his real name!! His birth name is Barack Hussein Obama, but for several years when growing up, he went by the Barry Soetoro.

And for anyone who doesn't know, do some non-bias research before saying Hillary would be better than the current administration. Drugs, suspicious deaths, scandals, and abortion travels in her "grandmotherly" arsenic and old lace wake. :eek:
