What I was thinking... But before I entirely go along with this statement it would help to have examples of individuals who knew first-hand the supernatural works of their god/s and/or prophet/s and subsequently chose to die for them. And then it would help to have Archaeology back these individuals up as being historical. Because that is what Christianity has.
Now, if I said there was a creator called The Great Ju Ju and he did miracles in my town... And in 2000 years from now archeologists found evidence that my town indeed existed and maybe evidence of me... Would this be proof that Ju Ju existed too?

No, it wouldn't.

The Bible (The Word of God) says this about Himself.... 2 Tim 3:16.. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
and this.... John 17:17... Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
and this... The word is the Truth and God says this... 1 Peter 1:25... But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.

Proof.... The Bible is the proof, it was here before we been here and it will be here AFTER we left as well... God says it will endure forever and it wa there in the beginning John 1:1...

BASED ON MY BELIEFS...

I believe we got the whole thing twisted...
We as christians over time just called him god, or the son of god. But jesus himself never asked for it..
Jesus was sent down to teach us, But people took him for something more, as they seen he can do miracles and much more..

John 5:30 - By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.
The Bible mentions the prophetic nature of Jesus’ mission in the following verses:
“… and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which has sent me. (The Bible, John 14:24)

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou has sent.” (The Bible,John 17:3)

Jesus refuted even a remote suggestion of his divinity. Consider the following incident mentioned in the Bible:

Gospel of metthew chapter number-19 verse number-16 and 17

16.Now someone approached jesus Christ(peace be upon him) and said, "Teacher, what good must I do to gain eternal life?"

17. Jesus Christ(peace be upon him) answered him, "Why do you ask me about the good? There is none good but one, that is, God. If you wish to enter into eternal life, keep the commandments.

Jesus Christ(peace be upon him) Did not say if you want to enter eternal life you believe that I am god, He said if you want to enter eternal life you keep the commandments

Jesus Christ(peace be upon him said):"I cannot do anything on my own; I judge as I hear, and my judgment is just, because I do not seek my own will but the will of the one who sent me.

John 8:50I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge.
John 14:28 • If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
Deuteronomy 6:4 • Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.

God Also said:
Exodus 20:4 • You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
Exodus 20:5 • You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God.

So the Bible made it clear that Jesus is an honored Messenger just like Moses and Abraham who were sent to worship 1 god. As Jesus Himself described:
John 5:30By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?
23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

These are the people who make Jesus the Messenger = to God! Therefore Jesus said they are evildoers!
Here Jesus said the father in heaven NOT jesus on earth... and he did not say worship ME...

For the people who claim Jesus is SON of God, God also claimed Adam, Jacob, and Abraham as his sons..
Scriptures relating to the Divinity of Christ.

Following are verses used to show that Jesus is God in flesh. The scriptures used here are from the New American Standard Bible.

John 1:1 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
John 1:14 - "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth."
John 5:18 - "For this cause therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God."
John 8:24 - "I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins."
Note: In the Greek, "He" is not there.
John 8:58 - "Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.'"
Exodus 3:14 - "And God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM'; and He said, Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’"
John 10:30-33 - "I and the Father are one." 31 The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" 33 The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God."
John 20:28 - "Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
Col. 2:9 - "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form."
Phil. 2:5-8 - "Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Heb. 1:8 - "But of the Son He says, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom."
Quoted from Psalm 45:6, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Thy kingdom."
Jesus is worshipped - Jesus said to worship God only, yet He receives worship.

Matt. 4:10 - "Then Jesus said to him, 'Begone, Satan! For it is written, "You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only."’"
Matt. 2:2 - "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east, and have come to worship Him."
Matt. 2:11 - "And they came into the house and saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell down and worshiped Him; and opening their treasures they presented to Him gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh."
Matt. 14:33 - "And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, "You are certainly God’s Son!"
Matt. 28:9 - "And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him."
John 9:35-38 - "Jesus heard that they had put him out; and finding him, He said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" 36 He answered and said, "And who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" 37 Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him, and He is the one who is talking with you." 38 And he said, "Lord, I believe." And he worshiped Him."
Heb. 1:6 - "And when He again brings the first-born into the world, He says, 'And let all the angels of God worship Him.'"
Jesus is prayed to

Acts 7:55-60 - "But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; 56 and he said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." 57 But they cried out with a loud voice, and covered their ears, and they rushed upon him with one impulse. 58 And when they had driven him out of the city, they began stoning him, and the witnesses laid aside their robes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And they went on stoning Stephen as he called upon the Lord and said, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!" 60 And falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them!" And having said this, he fell asleep."
1 Cor. 1:1-2 - "Paul, called as an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2 to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours." (The phrase, "to call upon the name of the Lord" is a phrase used to designate prayer.)
1 Kings 18:24 - "Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord, and the God who answers by fire, He is God." And all the people answered and said, "That is a good idea."
Zech. 13:9 - "And I will bring the third part through the fire, refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’"
Rom. 10:13-14 - "for 'whoever will call upon the name of the Lord' will be saved." 14 How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard?" (Paul is speaking of calling upon Jesus. (The phrase "Call upon the name of the Lord" is a quote from Joel 2:32)).
Joel 2:32 - "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call." (LORD here is YHWH, the name of God as revealed in Exodus 3:14. Therefore, this quote, dealing with God Himself is attributed to Jesus.)
First and Last

Isaiah 44:6 - "Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me."
Rev. 1:17-18 - "Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, 18 and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades."

So yes, Jesus did claim to be one with the Father and claimed to be God.

All Scripture must be used in conjuction with other Scripture. The Word does not contradict itself, however in the places where it seems it does, it just requires a more diligent and thorough search. This requires looking at commentaries and other translations and ultimately asking the Holy Spirit for direction.

Jesus was God in the flesh. But he also was submitted to the Father, which explains some of the things he said in your post. Each time he said something, he was instructing others and pointing to the Love of the Father who sent Him. However, Jesus was always with God because he was apart of God. I suppose this verges on a tri its discussion, but that shouldn't be started here. =). There are already plenty of threads about the Trinity! =)

However, the overriding message of the Bible is Christ laying down his life for mankind. He could not atone for our sins if he was just a man.

Thanks, i appreciate your help.

But i think im done following other peoples beliefs.
Im looking into the Torah, the Bible, then Quran in order as the words of God.

All three religions are Abrahamic religions and as the bible mentions, anyone who follows Abrahams God follows me.

So, should be a good journey, already have some basic info on all three.

I look at it like this, and Im sure you would agree because it makes sense.

Imagine 1 of the 100,000 followers of jesus, back in that time.
That one person probably said one thing, or did one thing that has lead as a tradition up till today.

Ex: One person wore the cross because he seen jesus died on it, next day 5 people did the same thing that one guy did and followed him in wearing the cross, those 5 people had kids, and now 30 people do it, over time it became seen as a Holy Tradition, (the cross is an example) but it is possible that this whole time people have been doing it thinking it was a Holy thing to wear around the neck and kiss and protect you could have been just a thing ONE person started and made MANY people believe it was part of their religion to do.

This goes for alot of cases, christian jews maslims, anyone.

What im saying is, people should not always follow other people, they should ask, "Well hey, is this even mentioned in the Book? Why do i even do it? God never said do it"

If you never ASK that^

then you only follow what Others believe and not what you truly think.

Seek the truth.

I believe the Truth is in the Word of God and not what men think of it, but what it says as a whole. I do not believe the Koran is God's word at all because it heavily contradicts the Bible, specifically the New Testament. The New Testament is also the fulfillment of the Torah and Old Testament. If you take just the Torah, then there is no salvation.

Well, the Koran is exactly Very similar to the bible, same beliefs of Jesus, as being born from a virgin and has done miracles and was sent down from God and delivered the (INJEEL - in arabic i translated it which is the bible )
only thing they deny he is God, and was only the messenger who delivered the Bible to us.
The koran says it was brought upon the world as the final book of god because the INJEEL was edited by humans too much and people were not following the correct word.
And thats why most of the information in the bible is mentioned in the koran because it just fulfills it...
Which kind of makes sense

Anyways.
I just read John Ch. 14...
Im so confused LOL.
I mean he mentions the father and says no one can go to him through me, but then theres so many other confusing verses that NEVER add up.. How am i suppose to read the bible when theres so many different ones and verses that contradict each other..

I wish there was an original Hebrew bible i can read :(

So, in reality the Quran is nothing like the Bible. They can't even get the one defining truth right. The one Truth that is God/Jesus/Holy Spirit.

TinTin is right.

Id also like to point out that the Quran and the Bible are so different that thousands of Christians are martyred every year because followers of the Quran are taught to convert people at the edge of a sword, and if they will not convert, they are to die.

Ok, you believe what you want but jesus said never to hate even your enemies.

I wont blame 1BILLION muslims for 1000 or even 1,000,000

I dont know if you know this but Jesus said, Do as i Do correct?

Did he not say "Bring he who does not follow my father, and i shall slay him"?

Did jesus, and 50% of the Christians not follow the OT which has many commands to kill?

Im not saying I agree with any sort of killing, whether jesus does it or anyone.

Lets just not be hypocrites, im sure our ancestors did Nothing But Kill..
Im just saying.

Not attacking, nor backing up anyone, I think my point is clear, and unless your one of those people who (hate giving other people the satisfaction of being right) i think you would say i am right as my "point" is clear.

Not trying to prove im right either, i just want one person to actually say, well ya your right.. lol
It really feel good instead of people always giving their opinion and denying, ^^^ those are facts not my opinion.

Stay blessed.

Matthew 12:[SUP]39 [/SUP]But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet: [SUP]40 [/SUP]for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

HE LIVES!

If I asked you to prove to me that Jesus Christ was a man sent by God as his only Son, who shed his blood and suffered death for the remission of all sins, how would you prove and convince me of that so that I could trust what you tell me and believe upon the name of the Son of God?

Not trying to prove im right either, i just want one person to actually say, well ya your right.. lol
It really feel good instead of people always giving their opinion and denying, ^^^ those are facts not my opinion.

Stay blessed.
I understand where your coming from and yes God has killed people on the OT and in the NT.

Anyway this lackadaisical attitude we have towards Islam today is hurting Christianity. Some even think they worship the same God that we do. Some well it's just a few radical's. On the contrary, their ultimate goal is to spread sharia law wherever they can, by any means necessary, including murder. That is not a religion, it is a government. Under sharia law, women are treated like dogs and black people are less Human and are treated as servants

Go back to the footage of 9/11. Who were dancing in the streets ( even in Ohio and New jersey)? the radicals? No the women and the children

Yes Jesus loves the individual but hates Islam, because it is oppressive and Antichrist. I meant look at whats happening, its all most to the point where you can't say anything about Islam, yet you can slam Christianity anyway you want too. You can pray to Allah in school but not to Jesus.

Which adds PROOF that Christianity has it right. The bible said that true believers would be persecuted. Is anyone persecuting Islam?

Muslims are destroying the Christian populations in many so-called Third World countries. It's not just some radicals that are killing and torturing them, it's many Muslims.

Yeah, but I tell you what. about ten years ago I spent some time in Egypt making a couple of three trips there. The guy's that were assigned to me when we were in private, would not stop talking about Christianity, they wanted to know everything, I even offered my bible, but they didn't want to chance being caught with it. The are so hungry for the word of God, but are so scared to accept for fear of there family and other Muslims

WHAT? God killed people? WOW!!! Maybe I do not understand this verse... These are the words of Jesus, and please tell me ONE SINGLE person that Jesus killed, just ONE! Please!

John 8:42... Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning,

This is the problem when people speak about God that does not know God. If you know Jesus you shall know God. He and the Father are ONE! God commands ... THOU SHALT NOT KILL... He does not add... EXCEPT IF I TELL YOU TOO....

If any of you think the ars in the OLD TESTIMENT comes from God think so, I KNOW where all wars come from... And so did James and God.... That is why it is written.... James 4:1... From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
My answer where wars come from.... From the LUSTS THAT WAR IN THE MEMBERS OF THE PEOPLE AT WAR.... Always has been this and always will be this. There is no such thing as a HOLY WAR.... Holy do not have to make war.

Oh Jiad (Muslims holy war) There is no such thing as a Christian holy war, only lusts in that wars in the flesh.... And then people want to blame Jesus for war? The DEVIL is the murderer from the beginning.

Like I said. Let's not be hypocrites.
Whos the ones that get happy when thousands die each day...? Us.

Of 1 billion + Muslims you don't think some feel bad when tragic happens?

What about KKK. ? Or any Christian terrorist group.
its just sad that not everyone thinks the way I do, we can't keep blaming each other. And it doesn't matter because by writing this I only speak to 5 or 10 people when the rest of the world won't hear

**sigh... :/**

Sharia law - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
sharia law isn't all that.

Its ran the same teachings from the Old Testament.

This is almost made me cry. ? It sad because he's a Christian preacher. But he made sense in another way.

Kerry if they were muslim they would have killed you for saying Jesus is the Son of God. The Quran COMMANDS them to do so. Just as your God commands you to be perfect. How Muslim are they if they want to ABORT? And how Chrisitan are you if you do not DO THE WORD OF GOD? God says not the hearers of the Word is His but the DOERS... how much of the WORD do you do? Talk is cheap, money buys the Whiskey.

Do not tell me about Jesus, SHOW me JESUS! If you cannot, then shut the mouth, I always say. So many talk the talk but why do they NEVER walk the walk? Too much mouth and to little POWER... What does God say about the appearance of Godiness, but denying the Power thereof? SICK people! SICK!

And just as you are not a Christian if you are not perfect, they are nnot Muslims if they war not Allah's way. Read THE COW and see how Allah curse all who say Jesus is the messiah and the Son of God....

Every person is only part of a god if they OBEY the God they worship. Same with Christianity, Jesus says we CANNOT serve two masters, and neither can they. Not even you can serve two masters Kerry, Not MAY NOT SERVE two.... CANNOT seve two masters. And the ones that do serve Jesus, becomes like HIM. Exactly like Him right here on earth. Because as He is so are we in this world. WOW!!!
