I have studied the Catholic Church's doctrine to some degree and probably know more about it then most parishioners. Some of their beliefs are highly questionable and out right un-biblical.

I loathe popery and catholicism but I think the guy just made an honest slip of the tounge in this case. There's plenty of legitimate reasons to bash on a pope, no need to be so harsh on him for something that was legitimately a mistake.
 
I've dropped that word a time or two in utter frustration...so I'm not going to pick up any stones.
 
I see my point was dodged and this is turned into another thread to channel hatred of our neighbour, the Catholic.

The F word is a 'swear' conditional to culture and time. I'm sure most of you have used it, and most of your English speaking ancestors have.

No offense but the pope is believed by Catholics to be the vicor of Christ. I would expect a little more from someone in his position. It's not like we're talking about Jim and Tammy Faye here.
 
A simple error in pronunciation with no malicious intent whatsoever, you guys just remember that when you lift your hand and point that finger....there are three that are pointing back at you from the same hand.

In Australia everyone uses curse words included Catholic priests.

I suspect, this is a cultural sensitivity overblown.

Have you ever said it at a church event, prayer function or in a prayer? Besides, I'm only attacking the notion that Catholics hold the Pope up as infallible, so it's really the "infallibility aspect" I'm attacking, not him or what he said. Although the "F" or "C" or whatever word, depending what language you are, really offends me because it takes what God made Holy between a man and woman, which symbolizes our relationship with Christ and uses it in a derogatory fashion.

No, my friend. What I am trying to say is that if we do not pay attention when pronouncing words we can get vulgar. And for your information, cazzo, is not a curse, it means dick (in the familiar language).
Like, for example, if you wish to an italian "Have a happy new year!", you must really, really pay attention how you pronounce anno (engl. year), because instead of wishing him a new year you can wish him something completely different, like "have a happy new anus" (ano, with one "n", means anus).

Also, is not the italian people that do the mystakes, but those that are not native italian speakers. The pope, for example, is an argentinian.
