We kow this Worship was execptable to God. We are also told to Sing, there only TWO kids of Music. Vocal and Instermental.

I would think if the Apostels want us to use Insterments they would have used them. And not told use to sing Col. 3:16, Ehh 5:19.

It is all about Athority!

You know, this post would be good if instead of talking about 'wrong instruments' in church - but rather entertainment in church - where if we draw a big crowd, put fog machines, and laser lights - and just sing some 'christian' songs - like Concert Christianity with strings that will make you cry and manipulate your emotions. Don't forget to buy that worship leaders record at the book store either

Or we could talk about hillsong, and Jesus Culture - some of these big money 'worship bands'

Take a vacation and fly on over (mate) and you will see that many churches (so called) have gone to praise (rock) bands and entertainment rather that the preaching of the word of God.
 
I never said it would keep people from Jesus, unfortunately young people are adhering to it which is causing these people to believe in something that isn't authorized. When you have people coming to a Church of Christ and they find out that the other church which is also a Church of Christ you have a situation that arises causing many to believe in the wrong church or deciding to stay away from the Church of Christ altogether. There is authorization for singing only, no where is their authorization in the N.T. anywhere nor there should be if you already have authorization in the N.T. for singing. Consider why God would want singing only, it brings his creation, us, into the closest spiritual contact possible. If you add instruments which are man made you then take away from God's desire for the closeness of his being able to be in complete closeness with his creation. Ephesians 5;19, Colossians 3;16 are our authorization, not the old testament which the laws have been done away with.
 
Doesn't mean that it's right, which it isn't. The Churches of Christ were established in the year 33 A.D., on the day of Pentecost. Romans 16;16, Matthew 16;18 In Matthew 16;18 Jesus said he would build my church, which being singular is referring to one church, his church, the Church of Christ. There is only one true church and that church is the one spoken of in the bible, is your church in the bible, mine is, show me where your church is spoken of in the bible. I'll save you some time, it's not in the bible , which means you're lost. There cannot be two true churches, so unless your church abides by the bible in worshipping the way God says to, then that church is man made. Do you worship every Lord's day?, do you take of the Lord's supper and give every Lord's supper?. Do you believe baptism is essential to one's salvation? Rock bands, do you really believe that this is what God wants in worshipping him, you wouldn't believe it if you knew your bible, because you would KNOW what he commands.

You also say you like instruments in church, BUT we're not there to worship you, we're there to worship God . This is why people are lost, just like you. You must believe and do what the bible says, not what you like and think.

Thats a man made law. Nothing in scripture says it is not authorized.
 
You're in the wrong era my friend, try the N.T. Jesus died on the cross and done away with the laws of the O.T Ephesians 5;19, Colossians 3;16 is the authorization for singing only. Do you have any authorization in the N.T., NO
