I wonder how many wedding cakes are sold everyday to heterosexual couples who are also living in sexual sin. If we are going to pick and choose according to sin issues, can we pick and choose the sins? When did it become okay to shove your sex life, homosexual or otherwise, into anyone's face like this?

We either have religious freedom in the US or we don't. If we do, we should have the right not to do things that are against our faith, including performing such services.

One thing is for sure, gay men get a better deal on the cake topper because they don't have to buy two dresses.
Unless those guys both want to wear wedding dresses too...

I believe the "wedding cake" scenario happened in Denver where it has a city ordinance that bans discriminatory practices and gays falls into that group. So the real issue or problem lies with the city legislators who passed the ordinance. Believe refusal to bake the cake for gays outside of Denver would not have been enforced. If I am correct, Denver is the only city in Colorado that offer gays this protection. I could be wrong.

Actually, a few years ago, a lady in Utah lost this same battle.

Truthfully, I believe that this is a baiting tactic. Gay couple go into a bakery they know is owned by Christians to play the victim. Just like on all sides, I have a serious issue with those using underhanded tactics to push an agenda.

Without doubt a political gay agenda

Hold on, how did they know it was a christian bakery before they walked in there? Was it common knowledge in the town? Is the name I love Jesus Bakery? Or did they find out when refused service?

I don't know about down under, but here in the States a lot of areas have Christian Businessman's Associations that put out publications, likewise many Christian owned businesses will place Christian symbols (cross or fish) in their advertisements and web pages.

If we can send millions of our tax dollars to Muslim rebels in Syria, whom would behead you and I because of "religious conscience", surely private business owners can be allowed to reasonably choose whom they do business with due to their own religious beliefs. Considering it's THEIR business, funded by THEIR hard work and THEIR money.

I do find this situation a little hypocritical....

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez needs a new hairdresser — or a new stance on gay marriage.
Martinez was recently dropped by her hair stylist, Antonio Darden, who is gay.
Darden told a local news station that he cut the governor’s hair three times, but won’t do it again as long as she continues to oppose gay marriage.

“The governor’s aides called not too long ago, wanting another appointment to come in,” he told KOB-TV. “Because of her stances and her views on this, I told her aides no. They called the next day, asking if I’d changed my mind about taking the governor in and I said no.”
Martinez has said she believes marriage should be between a man and woman.
Darden, a popular stylist in Santa Fe and the owner of Antonio’s Hair Studio, has been with his partner for 15 years.
“It’s just equality, dignity for everyone,” he said. “Everybody should be allowed the right to be together.”
Gay marriage is not recognized in New Mexico.

The thing is we have the right to refuse service to anyone as long as it doesn't violate civil rights, but when one is forced to serve someone when it violates their religion that is a violation of civil rights. Religion is under civil rights, and apparently so is homosexuality.

True, and had they just gone to another baker no one's rights would have been violated.
So this evidently was just a provocation.

Again: if gay couples can INSIST on getting wedding cakes from christian bakers, maybe we should INSIST on being allowed to preach and evangelize at gay prides and bars.

But we all know what will happen...

Freedom of speech... yeah right.

And it all began when people began to recognize homosexuals as a legitimate "minority". That was pivotal to this entire agenda. Do you see any other sexual preferences being classified as "minorities"? If I say that I have a sexual preference for hula hoops, do I get to declare myself a "minority" and insist upon preferential treatment (because it IS "preferential treatment" out of fear and intimidation in many instances, not equal rights...huge difference, huh?).

I don't believe in treating anyone badly, no matter who they are; but I also don't believe those who participate in certain sins should have the right to shove it in our faces.

LOVE the hairdresser post btw :)

I had a discussion with a coworker who happens to be homosexual and I told him that the biggest problem that I see in this whole fight is they are wanting this to be a Civil Rights issue when no civil right has been violated. (for those who didn't know, marriage is not a right). Truthfully, if no party got benefits for their relational status, then this would not be such a major, in your face topic. I told the guy straight up that if this was truly about LOVE, you wouldn't seek acceptance from the government.

But I am like you. I don't treat anyone bad nor condone that type of treatment to anyone.

I've seen this agenda in action before I got saved.

I knew a gay man who told someone close to me over several occasions that more and more men who were straight were enjoying gay sex. Over a period of time and carefully applied attention given to the straight man, this guy ended up having a homosexual relationship. I had to convince him he wasn't really gay, but that he had fallen for the lusts of special favor and attention and was willing to be gay to get it! He eventually agreed! Tactic straight out of satan's playbook. Sick.

It's even worse than that, gay/pedophile priests have always been trying to recrute children and young people to join "their cause." I should know, once one of those vultures tried to get a grip on me, but he failed. Thank God!
