The carnal mind also can not understand that the Law was given for a purpose. to lead us to Christ.

It tries to fool itself into thinking they are saved, but continues to subject itself to the law which NO ONE CAN FULFILL.

They think they are honoring God by subjecting themselves to the law. When in reality, if they are going to subject themselves to the law. they can not pick and chose which laws they subject themselves to and which they are not obligated to subject themselves to.l They are obligated to subject themselves to the whole law. In which case. they are doomed. Because the law condemns them. and as paul said, they have fallen from grace,
Yes and I see this as an analogy of the Law.

Put Ten ping pong balls in a tub of water and hold all ten under water using just your hands. Can this be done?
Same as in being perfect can't be done from a flesh stand point. The Spirit might be willing but the flesh is weak. So one need to be born again to even see the kingdom of love God's type

For no flesh can please God except Christ's that's all folks. And no one can copy his life for none of us were born of the Virgin, all we can do is participate and quit the imitating acting as if we are good when only Father is
Entering his courts with thanksgiving and praise. thanking Christ for us being ushered in unto Father as being perfect, even though we are not
Christ is my pinch hitter as in Baseball, a grand slam
Thanks EG

Grandpa and EG: You both understand so much. You know that it is through the spirit we live, it is the spirit we are to listen to. You know that the spirit leads you to Christ, and Christ leads you to doing right and to forgiveness. But you balk at the written word if that word gives instructions on living, you call it law and both of you are solidly against it.

Do you think, in the old testament, that God wasted time giving law to the Amorites or Hittites? God gave the law to those who were His. You think it is something to be used only for gaining salvation, and that is a misuse of the law. It would be like using water to make clothes dry. Law is to be used for the walk in Christ after salvation, it is no good before that.

You are not hurting yourselves with this preaching against law, you are hurting the church. Your understanding of God and His ways protect you. But a preaching against all that the 119th Psalm says about law is very harmful to those who are babies in Christ. Accepting sin in lives acts as a barrier so God cannot reach them, and by your teaching you speak against getting rid of this barrier to God's grace.

And this scripture is one you don't want to acknowledge in the correct manner. If you claim to not being subject to the law, Paul's words are very convicting, showing all who read what kind of mind that you have.
Romans 8:6-7 (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
I do not like to admit this? I DO ADMIT THIS.

If I followed the law. And self. I would have nothing but death. But If I follow the law of Love and the spirit. i will have peace.

Don't sit there and tell me you have peace. You can not have peace and be subject to the law. Those are contradictory words.

[SUP]7 [/SUP]Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Yep it is. I subjected myself to the law. It condemned me. I humbled myself and repented and agreed with God that because of the law. I am justly condemned. I also humbly repented and admited I have no hope. and that the death of a perfefct lamb (Christ) is ALL THAT can save me.

But as Paul said, Now that the law has done its job, I no longer need a schoolmaster.

That is why I have peace. GOD GAVE ME the peace which surpasses all understanding. Something you will never find subjecting yourself continually to the law.

I agree hardily with the Scripture you present.
You do?

Then you agree that if I love my neighbor.

I do not have to be told do not covet
I do nt have to be told do not commit adulty
I do not have to be told do not bear false witness
I do not have to be told do not fornicate
I do not have to be told, do not kill

Because I WOULD NEVER EVEN THINK OF DOING THOSE THINGS.

Oh thats right, I asked this same question about 20 times yesterday, You REFUSED to answer me.

Maybe because you do not really agree with it? You are just saying it to be saying it??

Deuteronomy 10:16 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

Colossians 2:11 (KJV)
[SUP]11 [/SUP]In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Hey, If your going to subject yourself to the law. Your indebted to follow the whole law.

I did not say that God did.

Good luck!!

God says to serve others. We do it

No. He gave it for the same reason he gave it to the jews.

TO PROVE TO THEM THEY COULD NOT FOLLOW IT. AND THUS NEED A REDEEMER.

Sorry I have to piggyback on your post because it's so good.

Jeremiah 4:4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, circumcise your hearts, you people of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, or my wrath will flare up and burn like fire because of the evil you have done-- burn with no one to quench it.
Jeremiah 9:25 "The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will punish all who are circumcised only in the flesh--
Jeremiah 30:6 And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

And we all know He promised the new covenant through Jeremiah 31:31-34.

Acts 7:51-53 You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you. Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whom you have now betrayed and murdered, you who received the law as delivered by angels and did not keep it.”

And here we see how the Jews were uncircumcised in heart and ears and how they resisted the Holy Spirit here - they received the law as delivered by angels and did not keep it.

What does this tell us?

What does this tell us?
It tells us that they took the law the way it was not supposed to be given, and thought it made them right with God. and rejected the only true savior which could save them. which is Christ.

most of the NT was written about this.

yet people still want to go back to law. and do the thing NO ONE CAN POSSIBLE DO.

What does this tell us?
It tells us to be careful, because by tradition, and itching ears we will be just like the Pharisees who believed that their righteousness was found in the works, and traditions they invented. We do the same thing today, sad to say, and it's time to get real and depart from foolishness. It's this described carnal mindset that cannot be subject to the law of God. Seems we would rather be subject to the traditions of man, and call it righteousness. Just telling it the way it is. Good scripture you present. God Bless

Have you ever listened to my youtube and arrangement of the "Old Rugged Cross?" That should tell you where I am at, unlike what you have accused me of. It's at the bottom of this post.

History i.e. the OT has shown the Israelites in general did not keep the law. In fact, they persecuted the prophets who preached the law. Needed I quote Isaiah and Jeremiah?
Here Stephen said "as your father did, so do you."
They persecuted Yeshua the same way their fathers did to the prophets.

Like I said earlier, I have not read the NT the way you do.
The way you interpreted the NT has been in fashion for the last 50 years or so.
Like I said earlier, it's the great falling away.

Why are you saying I am "false witness" when you repeat just what I am saying, that you are teaching that God did not say to follow law. And also you tell people the reason for law is only "the same reason God gave it to the Jews". You are repeating it. Then adding "thinking we are good people for following law". That last is you bearing false witness. I have praised you for knowing truth as you listed truth.

Sorry to bust your bubble my friend.

But if I love my neighbor as God commands me to or as he calls it, do the law of love, (and God calls everyone I run into my neighbor)

I will not murder them, I will not whore them out, or sleep with them,

And if I love the Lord my God, I would not even think of taking his name in vein.

I do not need the law to tell me not to do this. I would not even think of it. (that is what it means to seek the things of the spirit, and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh)

but if you think the law keeps you from doing those things (which would be on your own power Not Gods). Keep thinking that. And then when you meet God. Give him all your good works. and tell him how much you loved him and obeyed his law. And see what he thinks of your self obedience..

Your preaching law (but only part of it) and trying to force every one to follow you. And condemning everyone who does not.

As I already told you.

I HAVE BEEN YOU. thus I KNOW YOU!

lol.. Ok keep thinking that.

They did not crucify Christ because they sinned.

They did not think they needed Christ because they had the law

Keep on believing what mankind has believed for 6000, I hope it does you good.

Red tent.

Can you do me a favor.

I asked this question many times yeterday. and the person i asked it does not feel that he has to answer it.

Can you??
(you seem to be open)

Love your neighbor as yourself.

If I do this.

I do not need the words which say
do not covet what your neighbor has, Do not bear false witness against your neighbor. Do not kill your neighbor. Do not fornicate with your neighbors daughter, or commit adultery with his wife. etc etc etc.

I just use the law of love, and
those things would not even cross my mind. Because I LOVE My neighbor and am not thinking of self.

WOuld you agree or disagree with this. and why?

I agree and will also say that ALL is conclusive of ALL when used in context...

ALL THE LAW AND PROPHETS HANG ON THE FIRST TWO COMMANDMENTS......

1. Love God
2. Love your neighbor

If you do these two the rest by default will already be in play if you will...

If I love my neighbor I will not....

1. Steal from them
2. Cheat them
3. Murder them
4. Commit adultery with them
5. Etc.....
