As a lot of you have read about me, and for the one's of you that haven't. I plan on becoming a preacher and a truck driver. The pastor part is well on its way. I am getting into home bible study as soon as I can get a group of people together for it.

Is there other ministers out here that can give me a word of advice on how to go about it?

Personally I go directly from bible I do not change the scripture to my fit PERIOD! I break down a scripture and use it as it is written! I do not belive in sugar coating nor do I belive changing the original meaning of the scripture. A lot of people do not agree with my method, and so far I have gotten quit a few non believers are getting more curious about the bible and God in general.

So any word of advice or anything would help me. Thanks for you time

I applaud you in your efforts. It is high time we get some teachers out there that will speak with boldness and authority. I get myself into tons of trouble by teaching the truth, and no one thus far has been able to prove me wrong, using God's word as originally written. Remember this: You do not have to prove the truth, for it proves itself, where a lie must be continually propped up by other lies. Another thing about truth is this, that for a thing to be true, it must be in agreement with reality.
Good luck and God's speed in your endeavor.

I agree with what you said 100%! I get caught up in people also tricking me and they hate that I have a scripture to back up everything I say!

A good idea (among many) would be to read, for example, the first three chapters of John's Gospel, and note all the verses that refer to 'the Word', 'Son', 'love', 'everlasting life'. I think the result would be the Gospel in a nutshell, so to speak.

With Romans, you could do the same sort of thing with the themes of 'righteousness' and 'faith', and figure in the term 'justification', which simply means God reckons us to be righteous in His sight through faith in the Lord Jesus.

Learn to study the Bible with "inductive" method. I study with 3 Bibles at one time; KJV or NASB (Hebrew Greek Keyword) for the primary source, then Amplified for supplement. Check my post on "How to study the Bible"

You can plan to be a truck driver but when it comes to being a preacher either you are one or you're not.

Do you find yourself itching to preach even at inopportune times?
Do you boldly speak God's Word while turning your friend's faces red with embarassment?
Are you unhappy when you can't share God's Word?
Do you care for people.

The style of delivery is secondary...just don't compromise the truth.

The NKJV is a reliable version, I think. It's formal enough to be accurate, while some King James archaisms have been removed.

That's what I've heard but I have yet to see that myself. Since my bible deals with spiritual warfare mostly 100% of the scriptures are stil KJV. Honestly I go back and forth once in awhile KJV NKJV soon to add Strongs concordance And bible gateway. I do a lot of research and make notes quit abit using both bibles.

Well, King James is great, too. I use it myself.

Blessings.

It is very unrewarding just sitting down and trying to study the Scriptures without prayer, the key to getting truth from the Scriptures is PRAYER!

The MORE you pray beforehand the MORE you will get from the Scriptures!

In other words: the amount of truth you get from the Scriptures is DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL to the amount of prayer you do beforehand!

You can find a few short studies Here, Here, Here, Here, Here and Here to help you with your faith and walk with the Lord Jesus...

Yahweh Shalom

Prayer is a great theme in the Bible to look at, as well.

For example, in both Philippians chapter 4.4-6 and 1 Thessalonians 5.16-18 prayer is linked with joyfulness and thanksgiving.

Revelation is my favorite by far. Then again it's a book I understand very well. Have even helped pastors out with translating what it means and how to preach about it. Then again I like what is not understood, hey what a min that's me lol
