I am sure that all that have posted on this thread would agree that these men are men of God and preachers of God's righteousness. What is the righteousness of God? Do any of you know? When you hear a message how can you tell that they are preaching God's righteousness? What kind of righteousness did God impute to us as a gift when we were saved by grace through faith? Does grace have a place to fit in the righteousness of God? The scriptures teach that the just shall live by faith and that the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. How is a man who is a sinner cleansed from unrighteousness of sin? Does he repent to be cleansed of sin or does he receive grace and through faith he is cleansed by the blood of Christ?
Rom 3:22-25 22Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.
Is this the kind of righteousness that these men are preaching? Are they preaching Christ and Him crucified.
Rom 5:21 21That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
When we hear a preacher of righteousness, the sound that we should hear is grace reigning through that righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ. How does God save a sinner, by grace through faith. How does God restore a sinner, by grace through faith. How does God forgive and cleanse sin, by grace through the blood of Christ. How does God reconcile a sinner, by grace through faith and not imputing their sins and trespasses unto them. When God saves, restores and reconciles, it is all the righteousness of God doing the work and this work is right and just and these actions are possible because of grace and mercy through what Christ did on the cross.
If you all want to hear messages about repenting of sin and the judgment of God, you can do that because those preachers are out there. But as for me, my ear is trained to hear and to preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified, the redemption that is in Christ, when sin abounds grace does much more abound, the reconciliation of God that does not impute sin and mercy that rejoices against judgment.
