Well the Coriolis effect alone has to do something.
We've got to localize the movie so when someone drains a tub in a movie it doesn't look wrong.
Most who come on for dubious actions never show their face, but he was regularly on camera, very strange and sad

I know it may sound odd, but in a way I'm glad this happened. It may very well be a God thing that protects readers from far worse.
There are those who are all too willing to trust, vouch for and/or release personal information to individuals online just because they have seen them on camera or have even met them in person. I can think of at least 6 people off the top of my head from online who have been/are on camera often and/or who have actually met other CCers in person who have far darker things to hide than this.
I would urge you again to be careful. Take your time before surrendering too much personal information and ESPECIALLY your heart to anyone online. As Bridget said in another thread, look for their fruit over time. I can't say it enough....fruit, fruit, fruit, fruit, fruit. Never apologize for protecting yourself. If people don't like it, they don't need to talk with you. It's far better than getting hurt...or worse.

Folks remember that the integral worth of a person is not in what they do or say, but that God chose them before the creation of the world to be in relationship with him. It's raw when we're lied to, and necessary steps need to be taken of course, but let us not allow moments like this to detract from the worth of a person nor our diligent prayer for that person. You may be praying for something different now than you were before 1still_waters brought it to our attention, but the fact remains, we're all still sinner and all in need of prayer, and all worthy of it because God set the example.

This whole matter goes back to Accountability. Who are we answerable to?

That's correct Misty. There's stuff online that either confirms who you are, or the lack of info confirms who you're not. If you claim to be a police officer, but then nobody knows you at your precinct, then yeah, there's a problem with your story...
A few popular peeps on here go about making claims that don't exist or don't match-up, yet nobody on CC is really on their case because, so far, they are not abrasive to CC members. Just be wise in Christ, and the Holy Spirit of God will bring light to your understanding.

I like Australia getting movies first. It normally means I can still watch them before they are released here. Which keeps me from seeing the stinkers.

This is the benefit of getting to know people over time. There are definitely things that can be confirmed online if you know someone well enough to know which cabbage patches to search. If you barely know someone, you can end up chasing rabbits and looking under the wrong rocks, especially if you are an amateur. The safest way is always to date people you have known in person for an extended period of time.

By the way, it would be almost impossible to find an officer by "precinct" because about 75% of police departments, at least in the USA, do not have precincts due to their size. While I work with law enforcement/officers of the court/judges on a daily basis and have not been a cop since just after my husband passed, this has not changed over that time in the three states I've lived/worked in. If you have a legitimate reason to search for a police officer, the best place to look would be the academy the officer claims to have attended. But if you are stalking one, I wouldn't recommend it.

I remember Abiding well and was so very sad to learn that he passed. He is missed around here! I cleaned up my friends list recently and it was very sad to remove his name.
