This is my church....and im devastated.......I have no words....but im praying for pastor Bob and his family....
 
I said a prayer for our church also! I don't go there but have gone to a Calvary church in Vegas ...we are the body of Christ and the lord will heal all involved..
 
We all do well to remember that it is our Christ Who suffers the shame when we betray Him. A testimony ruined can never be regained. This man has lost more then he can comprehend at this time.

I could not stand to listen to him on TV, his squeaky voice hurt my ears. Why should anyone be surprised?

He called himself a pastor, which means shepherd. Jesus said that there is but one shepherd and Jesus is the one.

"I am the Good Shepherd" John 10:14
"So there shall be one flock and one shepherd." John 10:16

In addition they prayed together in the church. Jesus commanded his disciples to each pray by himself. Matt 6:6

The fact that this is described as a MEGA church should have NOTHING to do with the story. Pastors of churches of all sizes stumble and fall. It is sad that some take glee in seeing a person who leads a large church fall. :(

Yes, I know - the higher you go, the further you have to fall.

AND - one poster alluded to the fact that the pastor's irritating squeaky voice somehow indicated that he was to make a big personal, yet public mistake. The logic connecting an irritating voice to a pastor's mistake is faulty.

Yourselves...

You may not know this but this so called mega church has been giving largly to our community...putting people to work
Who are down....feeding the hungry...sheltering the homeless.....clothing the poor...and so many more
Beautiful charities...it started as a store front and grew from there... alot of people are effected by this...
 
I'm pleased to see that he did the right thing and approached the elders of the church he pastored, confessed, and then sat down to be a member of the congregation to deal with whatever the problem is.

This is exactly the right approach for pastors to take when they find themselves entangled in a behavior that disqualifies them from holding a ministry position.

May he find total sanctification from the problem he's experienced, forgiveness, and a new road of ministry when he's ready again to walk that road.

We don't shoot our wounded people especially when they themselves are simply struggling with a personal issue and step down to deal with it.

As for you who are claiming your faith is shaken, you need to grow up. Jesus is your redemption not any other person. Put your faith in Christ not people.
 
I live in south Florida and while I don't go to Bob Coy's church, its certainly an influential one.

Its sad but this stuff does happen. Pastors are a huge target for satan and they need our prayers all the time.

Billy Graham kept his ministry from scandal by never being alone with a woman.

The talk show I listen to coming home from work were discussing this. One of the hosts attended Calvery Chapel church for ten years. All their discussion showed me was they do not read the bible well.

I assume that Billy Graham's wife was the exception to this rule of his? Otherwise, that would make for a very awkward marriage.
 
Satan does concentrate more on those on the straight path. Also God tests the ones on the straight path more. Just need to see the test given to the prophets. Not many people would sacrifice their first born or allow themselves to be sacrificed because God directed.
 
why can't these pastors sort out their problems in private, can't he just step down for personal reasons, now it's a global news story and it's very damaging to christianity.

I've never heard about this guy until today and so will alot of other people hearing for the first time by just seeing another hypocritical preacher. If you are a pastor you do have more responsibility when it comes to what goes on in your life, if you can't do that you need to find another career.
 
Here we go again with the fooish comments. I'v seen some maturity in some post but most are carnal and foolish. We are to lift them up and pray whoever they may be squeak voices and all, flaws and all remember they are we are all just men or women flawed from the word go. It could so easily be one of us. Just a thought. I'm sorry to hear that and will put him on my prayer list.

are you really using the "don't judge" line, you only get one chance as a pastor. He should never set foot in a pulpit again, I don't care what he's done, it's tainted and worthless now. I have righteous anger for these pastors who preach against sexual sins while they are the living the lifestyle in secret.

That is the problem with sites like this you get on here saying all sorts of foolish unscriptural stuff then bash your brother or sister but you want forgiveness when you mess up?, you call yourself a Christian but just with your lips cause your life is not lining up with the word of God on this matter and that is dangerous I have a indignation towards foolishness.

What if thatwas Jesus position towards us we would be in trouble or should i say you would be in trouble. No more chances thats it you blew it. Wow you have a lot of growing up in Christ to do. And that is a good thing that you do we all do. Just be careful when you get fast fingers on the keys its an extension of what is in your heart and mind. Just a few thoughts.

well firstly he's not my brother, you think just because he stands up in a pulpit he's saved, I'd bet he's been living an alternative lifestyle for years. He's sinned against the very name of God, publicly, he should be very afraid actually, he sounds very much like the person who God says "begone from me I never knew you" even though they preached in his name

There's too many wolves in the congregation that aren't cast out, they use to stone false prophets, he should be thankful he wasn't living in previous times.

You act like forgiveness means no consequences, like maybe they should just let him back in the pulpit next week and act like nothings happened, ridiculous.
