Okay so another more lighthearted thread?

Age for first earrings? (I mean, first pair of holes, rather than 2nds, etc.)

Don't forget to vote in the poll also...

I had mine when I was a baby. So happy it happened because I would not have done it at my age because of the pain involved. I would like to pierce my upper ear but I know I won't because of the pain.

Some piercing/tattoo parlors use numbing cream.

Not here, my boyfriend told me about it though so I probably will get it done IF that is the case when I move to Canada in August.

Yes, it's done very widely in Canada; sometimes one single hole in the cartilage of one ear only; sometimes one each side; and sometimes 2 together on one side, which means a pair from the same set can be put in. The numbing cream is increasingly used, I think.

I got mine when i was 7.

My brother has his ears pierced. He did it himself with a safety pin. He was 15 i think.

So, one each side?

Do you think you are done now, or would you consider more, eventually?

(Don't forget to vote in the poll, if you haven't already...)
Yup. Both my ears are pierced
My left ear is still in process of healing -which is mostly my fault - so I haven't really thought about it at this point. But I am open to the idea of getting a second piercing on my ear lobes.

Well, if you do, I don't think your mom will be surprised if you do get seconds put in, especially if she has seconds herself.

Yes, she has seconds, so I believe you're probably right.

PS: So what happened?
One night I got some of the worst itches imaginable and started scratching at my earring, which ended up making it puffy and painful. It took some time for it to go back to normal, but every time it starts healing again, I will catch myself trying to scratch at it. So it never has had time to fully complete the process

Yes, well moms have been double piercing their ears since the late 1970s. (Like, if in 1979 a mom of 45 and a daughter of 19 got doubles done, they would now be 80 and 54.) So she really wouldn't be surprised if you did it also. You might find she almost expects you to although it's your decision only.

Hope your firsts heal well.

Blessings.
