Hi Just-me,

You've gone much deeper into the measurements and representation of each that I am just beginning to even grasp. I know that I will have to read through these messages more than a few times. And there is so much in each part, that I'm attempting to sum it up.

12:7-12 resembles the way this 22[SUP]nd[/SUP] letter is written in Hebrew. The reason these two letters were not included with this sequence of events, was for Israel to contemplate that there was something that needed to happen in the future to complete God’s divine plan. This final piece to this puzzle would eventually be the cohesive bond that would complete/fulfill all things, and He would be the very core from which all things emanate. This vacancy is then clearly seen as the focal point in which only our Lord Jesus Christ is able to occupy in righteousness. Consideration must be taken that Jesus Christ is the heir, and the firstborn seed of God’s kingdom, and He is the *seed that died, and rose from the dead. Like any seed that is planted in the ground, it must die before new life sprouts and takes root. Colossians 1:18 puts it this way. “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” This sacrifice enables the Kingdom of God to continue, as the fulfillment of our heavenly Father’s covenant of promise. By remembering that the night of the 15[SUP]th[/SUP] of the first month is Passover, we now know why God commands us to observe these things with our spiritual minds eye, instituted by His commandment, inviting us to reciprocate His love with responsibility.

What I see in scripture is that Jesus is the first fruit. Without having Him and that measure of faith in HIM planted in our hearts we cannot bring forth fruit. There are also verses that speak of not bringing fruit forth to maturity. (another subject, but does tie into the instruction of seed maturing.)

Since the "word" is the seed, "Jesus is the word made flesh," however, I still see that there are many more seeds that are all part of this, that can only be brought to maturity by abiding in Christ and continuing in His word.

When we lived in AZ, there was a farm right behind our home. They had several different crops growing, separated by each types, but in one field. For example: one section would be lettuce, another carrots, another tomatoes...etc. "

Leviticus 19:19 Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woolen come upon thee.

There are definately parts to the whole.

We can't even begin to grow to maturity without HIM. In regard to the word being planted in a believer, one plants, another waters, but it is God who gives the increase. (This would go into the true fellowship that you spoke of in an earlier post.)

I believe that is why Jesus said to continue in HIS word, and that we will know the truth, and the truth shall make us free.

Just as Paul said that he sees through a glass darkly:

1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

It's a process of fruit growing to maturity, because Christ, (the first fruit) is in us. We are able with the help of the Holy Spirit to grow and mature in understanding with Christ, and His Instruction planted within our hearts.

Just like with all the examples of the different measurements and weights, we couldn't even grasp the deeper things of God's instruction without Christ teaching us, through continuance of His word.

So there is THE SEED who is Christ, and then there are various seeds that are planted through His instruction, and brought to maturity.

Genesis says of the fruit:
Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

In order to get to the meat of the word, "the will of God," as Jesus said that His meat is to do the will of the Father. The seeds must be brought to maturity. Each part of God's word in order to walk in it.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Galatians 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Each of these must be brought to maturity, and is only done so by abiding in Christ, continuing, maturing and walking in it. Because of HIM. He is the master gardener, and a seed planted must grow to maturity before it can produce "some an hundred fold, some sixty fold, some thirty fold."

Well, at the very least, an attempt to sum up a portion of this study...

I believe you nailed it right in that Jesus is the first seed.

Colossians 1:15-18
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created , that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist .
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, thefirstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence .

1 Corinthians 15:20-23
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept .
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die , even so in Christ shall all be made alive .
23 But every man in his own order: Christ thefirstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

James 1:18
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Exodus 34:22
22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.

When the seed is planted it brings forth fruit at maturity. If it isn't quite mature, the seed is dried by fire, according to the spring harvest of "fuistfruits." (feast of weeks) Jesus baptizes with fire. If it's a real good seed it brings forth enough to plant for the years following. A seed must die before it takes root. Salvation is then not a thing that happed once in the past. It is now, and tomorrow, until we reach everlasting life. It is ALL through Christ Jesus. EVERYTHING. That's why self works don't make it.

As Christ has started a new life in us let's take advantage of the heart/ground He has prepared, and grow to the fullest extent with the richness of the soil. If one believes there is no more to learn, and grow thereby, they are sadly mistaken. We should never let our personal doctrine render a stalemate in our lives, for if a plant doesn't grow, it's dead.

Tabernacles Called Booths And Succah

The “Feast of Tabernacles” received its name according to the statute recorded in Leviticus 23:41-43. “And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in *booths: That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.” When comparing Leviticus 23:33-35 with the previous three verses, according to Strong’s Concordance number 5521 “tabernacles” and “booths” are the same Hebrew word “cukkah.” “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.”

Instructions for their construction was on a *Sabbath day, which would be very laborious, yet would be a day of rest. Leviticus 23:39-40 (KJV) “Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a *sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.” According to the law, this seems to be a clear-cut contradiction to other scriptures concerning the Sabbath, for Exodus 20:8-11 says to “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

We all have a nature that makes comparisons with what we have experienced in our own life, and now we are compelled to reconnoiter to find the reality of spiritual truth in this instance. I have always related the Sabbath day to rest, and not doing any work at all, yet as a child growing up on a farm, I worked both Saturday and Sunday because feeding the cattle was a seven-day a week job, and Jesus worked on the Sabbath day too. Even though it is good to give our bodies a day of physical rest, we see in Matthew 12:10-13 and Luke 6:9 more than just a physical time of rest. “And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?” Then in the book of Hebrews, we see clarification to the spiritual meaning of the physical law. In Hebrews 4:1 we read “Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.” This rest is a continuing rest for a believer in Christ.

We know that Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, and that the Sabbath was made for the human race, so the truth of the Sabbath is understood when we read Hebrews 4:10 which says, “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” So in the course of making “booths or succah,” one only needs to know that Israel was not doing their own work, but rather God’s work for the good of the children of God, as we will soon find out. The fall harvest had been completed, and it is time for us to reflect on the goodness of God. The trumpets to gather Israel had been blown, and “atonement” had been accomplished. Together with the special sacrifices starting with thirteen bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs, we continue by describing the spiritual meanings of the vegetation used in the making of these “tabernacles,” in which the children of God were to dwell for seven days.

[h=2]Leviticus 23:40 Direct from Hebrew[/h] And you shall take on the first day, citrus fruit branches of palm trees, and a tree branch - thick, and eve - river, and shall rejoice before the LORD your God - for seven days.
Leviticus 23:40 (Complete Jewish Bible)
On the first day you are to take choice fruit, palm fronds, thick branches and river-willows, and celebrate in the presence of ADONAI your God for seven days.

Nehemiah 8:15 (KJV)
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.
[h=2]Nehemiah 8:15 Direct from Hebrew[/h] Which will sound, and the sound will transfer all - their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying: - Take the mountain and brought me - olive leaves - tree oil and myrtle leaves and palm leaves and tree leaves thick: they should keep the Studs, as it is written.
Nehemiah 8:15 (Complete Jewish Bible)
15 and that they were to announce and pass the word in all their cities and in Yerushalayim, "Go out to the mountains, and collect branches of olives, wild olives, myrtles, palms, and other leafy trees to make sukkot, as prescribed."

Before going into the description of the foliage used for building these “tabernacles,” it is beneficial to know that succah/cukkah is an actual dwelling place. Succoth is the plural of succah denoting the place where booths were first built by Israel the day of their exit from Egypt when we read in Exodus 12:37 that “the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.”
These “succah” were probably constructed by building the framework for the roof first with intertwined midsize branches. Then one by one, the studs, or uprights would be attached to this frame of the roof, and probably stabilized with triangular braces, then raising the framework of the roof overhead. This assembly would need to be staked to the ground with rope, or cords as one would erect a tent with tie down straps, and stakes pounded into the ground. Last of all the small leaves and foliage would be fastened to the framework of the roof, and citrus fruit would be attached to the inside for freshness, and a type of repellant for bugs and flies.

As you have noticed, there seems to be a difference in the booth vegetation acquired, nevertheless, with deeper study, I have found that they correspond according to the original language. As you read, I pray that you are truly blessed, for this seven day feast clearly describes a believer’s life in relation to how we came to believe, and the struggles that we all have as we travel in this new life given to us by God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Trees=6086 16-18=[ets] tree (from its firmness) hence wood, or timber, firm, sticks, carpenter.
Studs 15-11-22 as a support to the structure
Pine=There is no Hebrew word for pine in this instance, but there is a relationship to the olive tree. It can be translated as studs, or uprights from the olive, or cedar trees. This could be large foliage from either species.

In every case, the physical creation has spiritual meaning, and the wide scope portrayed in the meaning of studs and trees points directly to the framework that supports all the vegetation used to make the tabernacles/booths/sukkot. By living within this framework, ordained by our Lord, our life is seen as a journey that hunts for equity, and justice, while weaving our way through the disorder of this world. We recognize the love of God that offers protection in a hostile environment, while keeping our focus on the promise shown to us by the light. We rest, ceasing from our own works, and commence doing His work by the instructions given. The cross of Jesus is the framework, and the cross that we bear becomes a significant spiritual journey. In Mark 6:3a we see thatJesus knows woodworking. “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us?”

This is the first Boughs listed in the KJV

Boughs=6529 17-20-10=[periy] citrus fruit, reward,
Goodly, and citrus =1926 5-4-20= [hadar] magnificence, i.e. ornament or splendor, beauty, comeliness, excellency, glorious, glory, goodly, honour, and majesty.
Branches=3709 11-17 [kaph] the hollow hand or palm in the form of a tablespoon.
Palm=8558=22-13-20=[*tamar] to be erect.
Palm leaves/dates 22-13-20-10-13 [Tamari] the spice from a palm tree. The true church as the bride of Christ, and Tamar, and Tamari are of a feminine persuasion capable of conception by the planted seed. The bride is not the root itself, but a representative of the nourishing root of this palm standing tall and clearly seen. This citrus represents new birth, and the *Tamar nourishes the individual children of God. Isaiah 40:11 prophesies of the New Testament birth when he says “He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.”

The vegetation of citrus fruit presents a sweet aroma of freshness under duress. This fruit is acquired from the tree previously mentioned. This cleansing aroma is given by substantial words of enlightenment, and our Lord’s creative works continue for all mankind. Humans are unique among all of His creation, in that we have been given the capability of choice to respond to His loving kindness and protection. He has given His testimony in sacrifice, and it is for us to reciprocate in a responsible manner according to His instructions. He has revealed His power that assures us of victory. By His grace, through Christ Jesus, He judges and gives instructions to lead us to salvation. Knowing where to find the light, we go to where it surrounds us, and we are called to worship Him in spirit, and in truth. His light protects us from apostasy, depravity and rebellion that are recognized via His instructions in righteousness. Paul said in Galatians 3:19, “Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.”

He also tells us in 2 Timothy 3:16 that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” To worship Him is to properly respond to His call, recognizing His majesty and love for us. When reading John 1:16-17 we understand that God’s grace was in the law, and this same grace can be seen to its completion through His only begotten Son. John says: “And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the lawwas given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”We are purchased with the price of His sacrifice.

Ephesians 1:18, Psalm 29:2, Psalm 111:9, 1 Chronicles 29:11, and Isaiah 56:1

It is because “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.” So “give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.” And “Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.”

This is the second Boughs listed in the KJV
Boughs=Branch 6057 16-14-17=[anaph] to cover; a branch or twig covering the limbs.
(These are different from the Boughs=6529 [periy] previously mentioned)

Branches=are described as all the same=5929 16-12-5 [aleh] foliage or leaf
(These branches differ from the branches [kaph] [anaph] in Leviticus 23:40)

Leaves 16-12-5 same as branches “Eliy” “Illay” (5940,5941,5942,5943 meaning the highest branches, these are a representation of the high priest, supreme, above all)Compared with Matthew 27:46 “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
Olive=2132 7-10-22 [zayith] bright, yielding illuminating oil
Tree oil 21-13-14 unrefined, and not beaten as the olive when first picked.

When we properly represent our Father in heaven, we glorify the height of His character as supreme above all. We climb toward the top where we find the newest, and most tender covering possible. Understanding that He watches over us in love, we know that His divine plan has always been intact through these thousands of years of Biblical history. By understanding His perfect government, we are given the capability to be taught, and to take part in this everlasting covenant that He has promised to us who believe in Christ Jesus as the true Messiah, and Savior from a certain death. His words are nourishment to the soul, and our work is motivated by His gift of faith. We are responsible for our actions as His children to properly represent our Father, and His family, in truth, and in Spirit. He has made a way for us to see our depravity and rebellion, and be forgiven when we truthfully confess what we see in ourselves, as we look into this perfect law of liberty. We are convinced that our Savior, His heir, and Son will continue to consume this old nature as we continue denying, and dying to ourselves daily.

Related scriptures are Leviticus 5:5, Psalm 32:1-2, Romans 4:4-8, and 1 John 1:8-10, Psalm 50:14-15. “And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing: Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”

Thick=5687 16-2-6-22 [abowth, aboth or abath] interlaced, entwined, and dense
Willow=6155 16-20-2=[arab] interwoven, braid, branches to make baskets
Arabic/eve 16-20-2-10 interwoven, twisted branches that have been cut loose
Brook, or river=5158 14-8-12=[nachal] narrow valley, winter runoff, stream

We cannot be in two places at one time. Many would say we have several choices in this life but there are really only two. We can choose to be separated from the world’s values, and be secure within in the family of God, or we can choose the ways of the world and be separated from Christ Jesus “Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Galatians 1:4-5) Sooner or later, everyone will see the evils of sin by the light of Christ, for the Bible says in Romans 14:10b-12 “for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” We have been created to have a mind that understands redemption. Along with belonging to the family of God, comes the responsibility to work according to the original intent of His testimony. Even though the valleys of our own life can be quite lonely and scary, we know that spiritual rivers, shade, and flowers are found there, because Jesus is the Lilly of the valley who surely can relate with our burdens, and is able to bring us comfort through our trials. In 1 Peter 5:7 there is an exhortation to continue “casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” He is our Father and we are His children, interwoven together in love through Christ our Lord.

Related scriptures are 2 Corinthians 6:17-18, Ephesians 2:19, Psalm 19:7, Deuteronomy 6:5, Psalm 23:4, Song of Songs 2:1, and Isaiah 9:6-7. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” For He says to us; “I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.” Praise God Almighty “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”

Mount=2022 5-20 hill country is Nehemiah’s promotion [har]
Mountain 5-5-20
This is an exhortation of Nehemiah to go to the hill country where rivers flowed between the hills.
Myrtle=1918 5-4-15 [hadac] usually an evergreen shrub up to 10 ft tall. Almost the entire plant has a fragrant spicy oil used in perfumes. The berries, though aromatic, are edible.
Myrtle leaves 5-4-15 Foliage replacing the willow by the brook, yet could very will have the same attributes as the “willow by the brook.”

Israel has experienced complete disorder while in bondage in Egypt learning to hate their existence, seeming to have no future hope. As a last resort, they call out to God for deliverance and He answers because He loves them. Starting with Passover, God gives them a sign concerning the first born, as He looks for the blood on the doorposts. Israel begins to see the process of events promised to Abraham and believes it. Through the chaos of that first Passover, they begin their journey of freedom with haste, eating bread with no yeast because there was no time to allow it to rise, and arrive at a place called Succoth. God protects them as He provides a way for escape, leading them with fire, a cloud, and a wind to part the Red Sea. After three days God provides Israel with water made fit to drink because of the tree. Thirty days after the Passover was killed, Israel is provided with manna from heaven, and water from the Rock within the time that would become known as the “Feast of Weeks.”

On the Forty-eighth day from their exodus, the children of Israel arrive at Mount Sinai, receiving their first instructions recorded by Moses. Ten days later, God gives His “Ten Words” to Moses written on stone. Through the next forty years Israel was consistently reminded of Passover, and the suffering their forefathers endured for most of the four hundred and thirty years they were in Egypt. They remembered victory by the undying love of God that encouraged them to worship with responsibility, adhering to God’s law, and all that had happened before reaching the Promised Land. Now that they had arrived, they were required to govern themselves according to God’s commandments, and take care of the land that they had conquered. Planting, and harvesting would exemplify the spiritual completeness of God’s perfection, giving incentive to teach their children of these things for generations to come. Taking care of their livestock taught them the spiritual reality of a shepherd’s staff, the yoke of oxen to cultivate, and the binding of a sheaf of grain. Still, by the words of prophets, they would see their sinfulness, and the harsh judgments of God that promised to consume and destroy their sin, salvaging His own again and again.

And at last, God sends His only begotten Son to put the last, and most important piece into place. The law and love of God continues to shed light on darkness, and giving promise of redemption, and rest. Jesus tells His followers that He is the Shepard that binds, yokes, and teaches with His rod and staff. He exhorts His disciples of their responsibility by the testimony He presents. He teaches of being united into the family of His Father that is not of this world, and calls Himself the door of entrance into the security for those who choose to enter in. He says of Himself that He has power against the weakness of man, the manifestation of sin, and the evils of Satan. And finally, at the end of the Old Testament, it is proven that He is the seed that continues, the heir of the Kingdom, and the firstborn Son of His own Father for deliverance, and salvation. He brings His own into a new birth, divided from the physical world, with new beginnings, and the spiritual process of events that continue as it was from the first Passover, not for Israel only this time, but for the whole world.

"Booths," are now a spiritual designation for us to see in retrospect, observing our present state by the commandment of succah/cukkah to God's miraculous protection of Israel during their forty-year sojourn through the desert en route to the Promised Land. This protection was not only furnished to the Israeli people while in the desert, but in His infinite kindness, God extended this protection by saying in Leviticus 19:34 that “the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.”

People are influenced by those actions that they do on a regular basis. Their thoughts are drawn to that which they do constantly, whether it is good or bad. By observing God’s instruction unto righteousness, we focus our thoughts toward that which is good, and we are to remember, and worship Him by conducting ourselves in an honest and righteous fashion.I think Paul had this in mind when he wrote in Philippians 4:8 saying; “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Next will be the order of days, and the spiritual significance of days involving creation and the sequence of events, and spiritual purpose.

In order to keep these Sabbath days in their proper perspective, I will quote Leviticus 23:24 and Leviticus 23:39. “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first dayof the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day (the fifteenth)shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day (the twenty-second)shall be a sabbath.” So the Feast of Tabernacles starts on a Sabbath day. Therefore, the first day of the week is the second day of the feast. The second day relates to the first day of creation, and so on.

The first day of the feast is a Sabbath being the 15[SUP]th[/SUP]. Summarizing the reason for this week of reflection, and “convocation,” we can see that Christ Jesus is the first and the last, and everything in-between as time is calculated. I often think of Colossians 1:12-19 when I address the fact that Christ Jesus, our beloved Savior, was given total responsibility by His Father to instigate and finish all that they had planned together before the first day of creation. “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;” And in addition to that 1 Peter 1:18-21 says “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.”

All this was done to prove their love for mankind, and how to save us from certain death. To prove this enormous truth, we read in John 17:5 “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” The Greek word for “glorify” is “doxazo” meaning to honor. It is an extension of the word “doxo” meaning very apparent. This relates to the “Doxology” that some denominations sing; “Praise God from whom all blessing flow, praise Him all creatures here below; praise Him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.” Apparently God bestows high honor to His Son Christ Jesus, to be the creator of all things according to His directives given before the journey of time even began. This is comparable with the four hundred and thirty years Israel was in Egypt including the first Passover. By that time, all of Israel had been born into this sinful nature of worldly values. The reality for us today is found in Romans 3:23 saying, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” This is a freedom call unto salvation before we start walking in the newness of life, in that God wants us to respond to His call. He says, “behold I stand at the door and knock.” It is God’s creation, His rest, His protection, all in the plan before the physical heavens and earth were ever created. It is a time to focus on the past, and present, which gives us hope for the future. We are in a time period that lasts for seven days, given to us to reflect on the history of truth, the present state of truth in personal life experiences, and looking forward to the completion of all things that our Father and His Son Jesus Christ planned together before time began. This first day of the feast represents a Sabbath convocation between Father and Son, knowing that there would be a need to save mankind from a certain death.

First day of the week is the 16[SUP]th[/SUP] being the second day of the feast. And now the journey begins. Heaven and Earth are created, and the light appears to define the difference between darkness and light. In John 8:12b Jesus says“I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” All plants and seeds were created during the time of the beginning when we read Genesis 2:4-5. “These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.”This is the day afterIsrael leaves captivity, and is led with a cloud during the day and a pillar of fire to light their way during the night. In kind, it is our reciprocation to the love of God, and our responsibility to watch these actions of God’s love, and protection through Christ Jesus. By reaching out to Him in this way, we can find out, as 1 John 4:19 states; “We love him, because he first loved us.”

Second day of the week is the 17[SUP]th[/SUP] being the third day of the feast. God divides the waters with an atmosphere, then made a mist to water the ground written in Genesis 1:6-8. While Israel is gathered together, after camping out close to the Red Sea, (according to Exodus 14:2) the Egyptians were in hot pursuit, at precisely the right time, God gives them an escape route through the Red Sea. In Exodus 14:13 we read, “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD.” While God divides the waters of the Red Sea, the pillar of fire that was once in front of them goes behind them to keep the Egyptians at bay. By following, and reaching out to His instructions we can truthfully claim victory after victory against our enemy because of His power alone. 1 John 5:3-5 says it all in my opinion. “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” They survived by following the instructions, so likewise we live by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Jesus quotes part of Deuteronomy 8:3b to Satanthat says; “And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.” These words of Jesus are found in Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

Third day of the week is the 18[SUP]th[/SUP] being the fourth day of the feast. One mass of earth comes above the surface of the water making it fit for the plants, and seeds to grow that were previously created. Water is now available for the plants to survive. We can compare this to the parable of the sower and the seed in Matthew 13:19-23 depicting the heart as the ground, and the seed as the Word of God. “When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
According to Exodus 15:22, Israel had wandered for three days in the wilderness and found no water. This would be the very same day and month when Jesus rose from the tomb. God showed Moses a tree (relating to the cross of Jesus) and cast the tree into bitter waters and the waters became fit to drink. God said if Israel would obey His instructions (commandments) that they would be free from the diseases that were prevalent in Egypt, representing the world’s values. As Israel continued their trek, and arrived at Elim, they found seven wells, and seventy palm trees. The seven wells represent resurrection, spiritual completeness, and the Father’s perfection. The seventy palm trees represent Egypt’s punishment, and the restoration of Israel, depicting a new birth, or being born again as relating to the conversation between Nicodemus and Jesus. Jesus had another conversation with a Samaritan woman at a well in John 4:7 and 10b, and He says to her, “give me to drink” clarifying that He is the living water. “Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.”

Fourth day of the week is the 19[SUP]th[/SUP] being the fifth day of the feast. The sun is created to rule the day, and the moon and stars are created to rule the night so that there is greater, and lesser light to keep mankind from total darkness. It is interesting that the earth circles the sun once a year, the moon circles the earth about twelve times a year with exceptions of leap years for the adjustment of seasons and times, yet is constant according to the original creation cycle. The greater light is stationary, and the lesser light reflects God’s governmental perfection. All things created were now in place to sustain the living creatures that were to fill the earth. Faith can be increased according to the experiences in this circle of time God provides. As we live, remembering His faithfulness in our past, we become more confident of the provisions He will provide for our future. This is rightly defined in 2 Corinthians 10:15a as we read “Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased.” Jesus is the greater light, and we are Son worshippers not sun worshippers as in some pagan religions. Ezekiel 8:16 defines the pagan practice of sun worship.“And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.” His words tell us of the proper Son to worship in John 8:12 when He says, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” The world was made to revolve around Christ Jesus, as the greater light, just like the earth revolves around the sun. As followers of the Son we are to reflect the greater light of truth in like manner as the moon, being the lesser light that reflects the greater light of the sun. These are the physical aspects of creation that are useful to us as a parable for spiritual perception. And Jesus said in John 3:12; “If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?” Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:14-16 describes this reflection of light very well. “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Fifth day of the week is the 20[SUP]th[/SUP] being the sixth day of the feast. Thesea creatures, and birds are created, creating a perfect ecological system of balance. Adding to, or subtracting from God’s perfect original creation is sin, and we should understand that it continues its perfect balance by the Word of its Creator, and not the EPA. Fish will keep the water clean, and birds will eat insects, and on it goes to the deepest scientific research man has ever known, and more. Further, the proper balance of all things involves loving God with all our heart, mind, and soul, and loving our neighbor as ourselves. The instructions contained in this covenant begin with Exodus 19:8 when all Israel says they will do all of what the Lord will instruct. Beginning with Exodus 20, and reading through Exodus 23 is the beginning of the ordinances of this balance of love toward God and mankind. This was necessary because Israel had learned imbalance/transgression for hundreds of years while in Egypt. The evils of Satan needed to be reckoned with as Paul writes in Galatians 3:19. “Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.”
The mercy of God becomes quite clear in this scripture. As was then, the same principles apply today as God provides a wall of protection for us by offering a new life through Christ. We are bought with a price, and transformed by a daily renewing of the mind. Paul says it best in Romans 12:2. “be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Sixth day of the week is the 21[SUP]st[/SUP] being the seventh day of the feast. On this day of creation we see all things in place that gives a healthy sustainable life for animals and humans. One may ask why earth bound mammals, and humans were made on the same day, even questioning their similarities as no different from one another. Humans, however, are very unique because we have been made in “Their” image stated in Genesis 1:26 unlike the earthly mammals that walk the face of the earth as we do. “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” Nevertheless, there is good reason for these similarities. It has everything to do with the unblemished clean animals that were sacrificed within man made temple walls describing the “Old Temple” according to the directives of God. The priest of the “Old Temple” made a sacrifice for himself, being human as we are, so he would be acceptable in the sight of God, thus enabling him to perform his duties. Unlike the physical temple worship, Jesus Christ needed no purification process in that He was already unblemished and pure in God’s sight, yet He still sacrificed of Himself. Today, we are the true temple of the “New Testament” yet with spiritual similarities pertaining to the old that was man made. To see this parallel I quote Hebrews 8:1-3. “Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.” This is all fine, and good but where do we fit in with this Old and New Covenant that now are completed through Christ Jesus? In the old temple, men and women also brought animal sacrifice for their sins, plus offerings to sustain the priesthood. Now in the new temple we present ourselves as a sacrifice.
In 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 and Romans 12:1 we bring this together in context. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” So in similarity we see why birds, animals and humans were all made from the same substance. Keeping this man made temple of the old in mind, allow me to quote Hebrews 8:6-7 and 13 taking out the italicized words for a better understanding. “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better which was established upon better promises. For if that first had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. In that he saith, A new, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.” [End quote] I believe the writer of Hebrews was referring to the old and new temple and not an old and new covenant thereby negating the Old Covenant which contains God’s words. For if God’s word of the old covenant were “ready to vanish away” then Jesus would never have said that man shall live by “every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” The old was made by humans, and the new is made by the Son of God. Instructions for the building of the temple are included in the tablets of stone that God gives to Israel calling it the “Ten Words” in the Hebrew language. These “Ten Words” are the blood testimony of temple worship ordinances, and all of what Moses wrote is not just the Ten Commandments as we know them. Israel agrees to this covenant principle of righteous judgments that divide them from the pagan practices that they were once exposed to while in Egypt. This is the institution of governmental perfection by, and through Christ Jesus. We are saved through faith and not by the works of the law as defined in Romans 3:27, but by understanding the spiritual concepts of the “Ten Words” written on stone, and the word recorded by Moses, we continue our journey away from the bondage of sin. “Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.”

According to Exodus 20:1, reading through Exodus 23:33, the Ten Commandments (as we know them) were written down by Moses, after God told them to him.
According to Exodus 24:12 through Exodus 32:15, the Ten Words were written on stone later.
A Hebrew - English Bible
According to the Masoretic Text
and the JPS 1917 Edition

Exodus 34:28And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten words.

Deuteronomy 4:13
And He declared unto you His covenant, which He commanded you to perform, even the ten words; and He wrote them upon two tables of stone.

Deuteronomy 10:4
And He wrote on the tables according to the first writing, the ten words, which the LORD spoke unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly; and the LORD gave them unto me.

The “Ten Words” were for the temple, and the commandments Moses wrote down were for us. These commandments entail more that just the first part of Exodus 20. These commandments are contained in four chapters previously mentioned. There was more to come, but this was just for starters.

4[SUP]th[/SUP] day=18[SUP]th[/SUP] of the month: Numbers 29:23
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And on the fourth day ten bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish:
The eighteenth day of the first month is when Christ rose from the dead, being the mediator of the New Testament. This also gives us a picture of Israel’s escape from its four hundred and thirty years of captivity in the Egyptian Empire, and also includes ourselves as escaping the slavery to sin, and escaping from the world’s values through Christ. We are still here on this earth, but we are not in the world’s kingdom of depravity. Galatians 3:19 gives a rhetorical question; “Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.”
The number 4 represents creation, the world, and creative works, representing the lights created to rule the day and the night, and divide the light from darkness. (Genesis 1:18)

The 4[SUP]th[/SUP]letter means to move to the door, and enter in. God created a way for us to be acceptable in His sight through Jesus Christ. He gave us the gift of the faith so we could believe that blood sacrifice was the door of acceptance.
The number 10 represents testimony, the law, and our responsibilities” as defined in the instructions given by God to Israel, and for us to see their Spiritual significance.
The 10[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means to worship the giver, and work according to His will. There is good reason for the law that God gave. We worship Him by acknowledging that every word he has ever spoken has relevance for us unto this present day.
The number 18 represents bondage.
The 18[SUP]th[/SUP] letter represents a trail to follow, as a journey, to chase, and to hunt. We are born into sin, but through Christ, we have been given a road to follow, leaving it up to each individual whether or not they want to walk this road. Jesus says in Matthew 7:13-14; “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” “Strait” means “obstacles” necessary for us to confront for the purpose of increasing our faith. They stand in front of the open door God has provided. Obstacles that cause “tough straits.”

Hey, I missed this thread. Looks promising in the way of discovery! Thanks!

This post was so good it needed a "bump".

I'm still learning the meaning of the different numbers in scriptures, and I do believe that every word in the scriptures has a meaning and a purpose (numbers, weights, measures, "patterns," and all.) That's why Jesus said that heaven and earth will pass away, but His word will not pass away. (Matt 24:35) And, "Man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Every jot and tittle.)

Ecclesiastes 7:11 Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.
Ecclesiastes 7:12 For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
Ecclesiastes 7:13 Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?

Things were crooked by the time John the Baptist came into the picture. The instruction that God gave to mankind for "wisdom," of greater things to come, and wisdom in all that had been set in place as our foundation that pointed to Christ, it was crooked. Even while Jesus walked among men, the majority of the Jews fully rejected Him, and stayed on the crooked path, even though the straight way was already established through the natural instructions that would come to light and give us spiritual understanding. As Paul wrote:

2 Corinthians 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
2 Corinthians 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

God can make that which is crooked straight, and the writers of the OT, understood this.

During the feast of Tabernacles, the people abode in booths for seven days. From what I understand, Christ is our covering, and tabernacles is about abiding in HIM, "for the branch cannot bear fruit unless it abides in the vine." Jesus being the first fruit, we can only bring fruit to perfection with Him by abiding in Him.

Psalms 5:8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

Proverbs 4:26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
Proverbs 4:27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Thank you for sharing these lessons on the feast of tabernacles. Enjoying it very much, and learning more and more.

God bless
Good post sister. And also scripture tells us that gentiles, (all nations) have blindness in part. (is this due to believing lies of the adversary?) Someday we enter eternity, and will study at the feet of Messiah!!!:)

Isaiah 25:7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
[h=3]1 Corinthians 13:12[SUP]
