I was waching the 700 club and i remembered that Pat had ran for president before, and i was wondering; If Pat had of won, would he be able to be the president and remain true to GOD.
Or would he sometimes shade the truth, and be poitical.

In the Golden age of Israel the Kings were prophets. Tells you what sort of leader we need.

Err none of the Kings were prophets. Some were righteous Kings (David, Jehoshaphat, Amaziah, etc.) no doubt, but they were not Prophets. Though during the age of Kings there were many Prophets in the land (Elijah, Elisha, Jonah, Nathan, etc.)

As far as aspiring to be President. I think if you understand the enormous responsibilities of the office then sure, I think it okay to be President. In terms specifically of Pat Robertson being President, let's just say I would never vote for him.

But do you think a preacher/teacher can be 100 in the faith that Paul preached without shading the truth to get the people to accept his policy.

Might be possible. I suppose one could rule justly without shading the truth. Getting people to accept this though, well that's not possible, not in modern American politics no matter how right someone is.

I would love to see some one as president who was a full fledge follower of our Lord. However the issue would be when it comes to rule making because as we know the U.S. is a diverse nation with multiple cultures and beliefs. And as Jesus made a point when talking to His disciples they were not, as we are not now to do, to force our beliefs on others.

Spread the good news, if they listen stay and talk. If they do not, dust your feet off and keep moving.

I would love to see all our rules being bible based, but however if they were that way I see it as forcing what we believe in on others living here that do not.

How would anyone like Pat, running for head of the Republican Party, and then telling people to vote Bush, be able to stay true to God.

The same people around here who think every Christian should only vote Republican, are also worried about "The New World Order". Just guess who coined that? The same guy Robertson told everyone to vote for.

Come on! It's not rocket science!

Ah but my friend you should learn a little Modern American Politics and History. Robertson is a famous American Elitist who actually tried to run for President before actually (sometime in the mythic age of my elders before I became acquainted with the American Politics.) Funny enough George Bush Sr. crushed him in the primary. See with our elections we got the primaries for all the political parties. All parties got that, but basically only the Demcorat or Republican Party means a crap for power positions (though it is common for there to always be a few Third Partyers here and there at smaller levels.)

Now though many of the Super Elites are good friends, a lot of the Nobility of America is much like the Nobility of Europe and pretty much anywhere else and also in history. They got rivallries and feuds. So for our political elite after you lose in the primary its customary to "bow out graciously" and support your Party's candidate no matter what in order to beat the other candidate.

For Robertson, I wish him no ill will, but he does worry me with his influence over Christians and US politics as it is all ready. However I don't think we need worry too much. Robertson getting old anyways. I don't wish him no harm, but he all ready wields a lot of political and cultural power over America and the World even as it is. Some of his dealing on the Geo-Politick stage sketch me out. I'd say his shady dealings with Mobutu and Chuck Taylor would disqualify him for President (and other foreign policy faux pax that he famous for.) Compared to enterring trade with dictators especially in the gold trade where there is decent evidence of human rights violations concerns me more than him giving a hollow endorsement to President George H W Bush whom retired when I was an infant. I don't condemn him for this, but I don't want Robertson to be my President, Senator, Congressman, or even Mayor because of that. There's more nitpicking one could do on Robertson than just all the gold trade stuff, but those are mostly just some of his famous commentaries. I'd say just let him retire and live out rest of his life peacefully.

Lol I liked your comment though and it does strike me on the irony that Robertson one of the biggest NWO Conspiracy Theorists of our time (one of the most creative too indeed), yet from my peasant perspective I could say he himself is clearly part of the NWO since he wheelin' and dealin' with a bunch of World Elites (and he from the New World (pun intended.)) Though that's just more evidence for my theory the NWO is bunk because Pat Robertson might be a lil kooky, but he sure as heck don't get along with a good amount of USA's other elite, even within the GOP.

Also phrase NWO is before Bush Sr. As far as I am aware democrat President Harry S. Truman coined the term in the modern sense of the Theory, though it might be older.

Do you think any other teacher/preacher could remain true to GOD and not be worldly?

Mike Huckabe (sp?) threw his hat in the ring last time. He seemed to be a better choice than obama but not enough votes.

Hi psalm6819
Mike Huckabe (sp?) threw his hat in the ring last time. He seemed to be a better choice than obama but not enough votes.
That name sounds familiar

But do you think Mike Huckabe or anyone(preacher/teacher) could remain true to GOD without letting the world of politics with all its shadiness cause a brother/sister to stumble?

Jesus wouldn't lie so we don't have to
Would a human lie cheat steal. Yes but he doesn't have to not if he is tried by GOD. REMEMBER Jesus said to Pilate you wouldn't have any authority were it not given you that authority wasn't given to pat robinson

Also I believe in Jeremiah God said man is not able to govern himself. Jesus never worried about being politically correct no one could touch Him before time
Any one now saying what He said without the Holy Spirits full protection for after he said it may not say it at all

Hmm as far as Huckabee I wouldn't vote him for President either. Too much of a noob on foreign policy. I think Huckabee found a home in the media anyways, and I think that's a good place for him where he most effective. Lol, guess I am something a Technocrat when considerring on voting. Though I find a politician maybe not at all suitable for Presidency, they still useful for places in Politics, even Positions of Influence that are even beyond government such as media, business, diplomacy NGOs, UN, etc.

From what I seen Huckabee seem comfortable in media and that is where he is effective. In terms of popular support and stats of governance for his state and time, I'd say he a fair governor, if he re-enters the political machine he'd be good at state or federal level such as Senator or Congressman level government position.

Really office of President is so sought for that its almost at a mythic level in some peoples minds lol. Arguably many other positions in American Political structure and especially outside of it are much more powerful as even just private Citizens.
