Nest, I'm not familiar with The Book of the Twelve Minor Prophets. Is it in the Christian version of the Old Testament?

Great answers, everyone! It's interesting to see the variety of answers but also how many people love the book of Job. Very cool.

Tintin, please allow me to be an exception because I have 3. I love them in that order:

Psalms and Job because both of them shows how hard tribulations and defeat can be sometimes and then it must turn to victory at the end. I feel in Awe when I read the words of praise and joy from David and Job after the terrible hardship they go through. It helps me a lot to see the importance of faith.

The third one is Daniel. Again I love to see how God saved him. :)

Haha! No worries, mate. I have many close-runners up when it comes to books of the Bible. While I appreciate the four books of Law more than I did in the past, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy and the last half of Exodus are never going to be favourites of mine.

Mine would have to be Job.
I love reading what he went through. Its amazing to me how it all happened and how he still loved God.
It's a beautiful and touching life lesson that I feel everyone can learn from.

I think Nest is talking about all the books from Hosea to Malachi, though I have known to be wrong...from time to time.

My favorite changes. It was Proverbs for the longest time and it is still one of my favorites. Isaiah is also one of my all-time favorites. Lately it has been Ezekiel and Jeremiah although I am not sure that they are favorites per-say, but are extremely informative of the days we are living in.

Ah, I thought it was an apocryphal work or something. Thanks. That's kind of cheating though. Two favourites is fine, maybe even three. But twelve? Haha! :D

Hahaha! Me neither, these books will never be my favorite. :D

But you know what Tintin? I said that to my father of confession and he simply said to me "It depends Why I'm reading the bible?" If I'm reading it for spiritual reasons OR Am I studying a specific thing. So some people might be wanting to know the history or references of things, so they might like those books. I myself read it for more spiritual reasons to strengthen my faith, that's why I don't really like those books as I don't really see a reason for me to know what's mentioned in them. Although you might find a verse here n' there. But that's all for those specific books for me. :)

Such tough choices. Guess it depends on my mood really. Overall though I probably have to pick Kings 1 & 2 (they go nicely together as one whole story) is probably what sticks in my mind most for Old Testament. Very relatable I feel to our time now and also from atheist background these two books helped ease me into belief for the Bible because I all ready knew before I read these books the historical facts pertaining to much of this time period so when I was reading it its like "uhhh, wait a minute, this stuff actually happened and there's proof!" From that point it got me to realize to take the Bible more seriously and literal and help motivate me to read the whole collection of books.

Proverbs. I try to read at least one chapter a day. It teaches wisdom and understanding and how to deal with other people and different situations.
Proverbs is my favorite book as well. The information is invaluable for day to day life. The entire Bible is great though and provides refreshment to the soul after a long day.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. - Proverbs 3:5-7
