STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS.
First of all, one definition of success is: Gaining wealth and fame.

But how much wealth do you need to be successful?
How much fame? Should you pick an arbitrary target? Should you compare yourself to others? Some harsh but straight to the point questions we should ask ourselves.
What if you have decided to devote yourself to raising children of character, or serving your church and your community? Does that mean you are less successful? No! The true meaning of success is doing the best you can, with what you have, wherever you are in life.

The bible warns us in: 2 Corinthians 10: 12. “For we dare not make ourselves of number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves among themselves, are not wise.”

When you play the comparison game in your life, you are like the two cows that saw the milk lorry go by with a sign, PASTEURISED, HOMOGENISED, VITAMIN A added. One cow said to other, Makes you feel inadequate, doesn’t it?

Look if you want to be successful with what you have, God will help you to be all that you can be, but he won’t help you to be someone else.
When you focus your attention on who you aren’t, by comparing yourself with someone else, you lose sight of who you need to become.

Ever heard of eighteen/forty/sixty rule? When you’re eighteen, you worry about what everybody’s thinking about you. When you’re forty, you realise that it doesn’t really matter what they think about you. When you’re sixty, it dawns on you that most of them weren’t thinking about you at all!

Paul’s life changed dramatically with one question: ‘LORD, what do you want me to do?’ In Acts 9: 6. Says: “and he trembled and astonished said, Lord what wilt thou have me to do? And Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.”

It’s only when you ask that question yourself, will you discover who you are and what God’s called you to be.

Good post! Maybe I'm a bit ahead of the curve as I recently realized that there ain't many people thinking about me at all and the one that do....love me! Comparison is evil. It is satan whispering in your ear.

There is a scripture that encourages us to concentrate on doing our own work well, 'But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and NOT in another.' Galatians 6 verse 4

We've each been given gifts from the Lord to use to edify the body...we are not all elbows or all hands..we are however, all needed. If we just concentrated on doing the works God has given us (which He prepared for us to do before the foundation of the world)..we wouldn't have time to envy others or compare ourselves to others.

It is important to be content whenever and wherever you are at in life whosoever God has called you to be be the best you can be if he has called you to be a doorknob then be the shiniest best one .

But to state that we should not rejoice in our works but in the Lord that makes everything possible it is He that does the works we simply obey that no one shall boast , but boast in the lord

Absolutely :)
It is He that works in us. He gets all the praise.

I love how Jesus not only saves us, but enables us (as we put Him first) to do the things He wants, so that when we stand before Him on Judgement Day and our works are tested - they can come out as gold, and silver and precious stones...not as wood, hay and stubble.

He doesn't want us to be dismayed on that day - that all the things we thought we were doing for Him, were actually of the flesh. Instead, He continually gives us everything we need in order for us to bear fruit that lasts. We have to make a choice daily to rely on Him though and not our flesh.
