[h=3]Malachi 3:16[/h]New American Standard Bible (NASB)

[h=3]The Book of Remembrance[/h][SUP]16 [/SUP]Then those who [SUP][a][/SUP]feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who [SUP][b][/SUP]fear the Lord and who esteem His name.

call the Almighty, Daddy, if you are one of His children. I'm kinda afraid to call Dad, by His name, so i'll just keep calling him, Father, Almighty Creator, LORD, and i believe thats ok. If some one else chooses to call Him by name, its not me that will tell them they are wrong, but don't tell me i need to call Him by His Name, to be closer, because i don't believe that.

[SUP]John 17:6 [/SUP]“I made your name known to the people you gave me out of the world. They were yours, you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. [SUP]7 [/SUP]Now they know that everything you have given me is from you, [SUP]8 [/SUP]because the words you gave me I have given to them, and they have received them. They have really come to know that I came from you, and they have come to trust that you sent me.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]“I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given to me, because they are yours. [SUP]10 [/SUP]Indeed, all I have is yours, and all you have is mine, and in them I have been glorified. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Now I am no longer in the world. They are in the world, but I am coming to you. Holy Father, guard them by the power of your name, which you have given to me, so that they may be one, just as we are.

I have posted over and over verses that show the NAME YAHWEH will be great among the gentiles, it seems to me you simply disregard Scripture.

God's name is great amoung the Gentiles.

Hey everyone is free to their own views, and I dont believe I posted my own opinions, I believed i use Scripture and if any of my own words do come its mostly talking about said Scripture.

I am curious is you read posts 2-4 tho? (much Scripture concerning His Name)

Adonai is the title that was used by the Pharisees to replace the Name of the Creator:

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia - ADONAI
a-do'-ni, ad-o-na'-i ('adhonay): A Divine name, translated "Lord," and signifying, from its derivation, "sovereignty." Its vowels are found in the Massoretic Text with the unpronounceable tetragrammaton YHWH; and when the Hebrew reader came to these letters, he always substituted in pronunciation the word " 'adhonay," (Lord). Its vowels combined with the tetragrammaton form the word "Yahweh (Yahweh)."

The Babylonian Talmud, Tractate Kiddushin, page 71a
...R. Abina opposed [two verses]: It is written, 'this is my name'; but it is also written, 'and this is my memorial'?__The Holy One, blessed be He, said: I am not called as I am written: I am written with yod he, but I am read, alef daleth.7. The Tetragrammaton is yod he waw he (YHWH); but it is read adonai = alef daleth nun yod (ADNY)...

If you care about Scripture and pay close attention here, you will see before this practice was beat into the minds of the people, a true follower of Yahweh does not correate "Adonai" with Yahweh...

1 Kings 22:5-7, "Then Yahshaphat said to the king of Israyl; But inquire this day for the counsel and advice of Yahweh (#H3068 - YHWH). So the king of Israyl assembled together the prophets--about four hundred men, and asked them; Shall I go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain? They all answered him: Go up! The Lord (#H136 - Adonay), will deliver it into the hands of the king! But Yahshaphat asked; Is there no longer a prophet of Yahweh (#H3068 - YHWH) here, so we may inquire of Him?"

God's name is great amoung the Gentiles.

People read and interpret this in different ways, but an interesting passage concerning the Name of the Messiah, and dependent upon what one thinks His true Name is.

Acts 4:10-12, "Let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israyl, that in the Name of Yahshua Messiah of Nazareth, Whom you nailed on a stake, but Whom Yahweh raised from the dead--by Him does this man stand here before you, healed. This is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the Head stone of the corner, Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other Name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

Acts 4:10-12, "Let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israyl, that in the Name of Yahshua Messiah of Nazareth, Whom you nailed on a stake, but Whom Yahweh raised from the dead--by Him does this man stand here before you, healed. The beautiful thing is Yahshua means Yahweh's Salvation or Yahweh is Salvation!

Zephanyah 3:9, "Yes, at that time I will return to the peoples a pure language, so that all of them may call on the Name of Yahweh, and serve Him with one accord (shoulder to shoulder)."

I am who I am is eyer asher eyer in Hebrew

And what about this?

Isayah 42:8, "I am Yahweh, that is MY NAME; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."

yet again.

This was written by a hebrew speaking person to the hebrew people. What else would you expect it to say.

Are you going to tell me what his name was BEFORE the hebrew language came to be, or sit there and tell me you have proven your point, which you have not?

It is rather sad that the adversary has caused mankind to forget the Name of the Creator, but as Yahweh says, His children will know His Name!

the adversary is laughing at you.

He knows the creators real name. He knew what he was called before Adam was created, He knew what it was before the hebrew language was formed. And he has you thinking you are special because you call him by his Hebrew name, when your not even Hebrew.

yep,

it is prety sad the many a people who never heard the word Jesus (english) or Yahwah (hebrew) or whatever word you want to hear. Will not make it to heaven.

Wow is the people who only heard the name of God spoken in their own language.

And people wonder why the world hates those who follow god and wants nothing to do with them.

Are you going to tell me what his name was BEFORE the hebrew language came to be, or sit there and tell me you have proven your point, which you have not?

the adversary is laughing at you.

He knows the creators real name. He knew what he was called before Adam was created, He knew what it was before the hebrew language was formed. And he has you thinking you are special because you call him by his Hebrew name, when your not even Hebrew.

Your disdain for the Spiritually revealed name of the Creator is noted.

yep,

it is prety sad the many a people who never heard the word Jesus (english) or Yahwah (hebrew) or whatever word you want to hear. Will not make it to heaven.

Wow is the people who only heard the name of God spoken in their own language.

And people wonder why the world hates those who follow god and wants nothing to do with them.

Not what I said, I was asking about what people thought of that verse. Somehow I think I wouldnt get near as much flak is I said Jesus and not Yahshua and Yahweh...

And no, people hate true followers because they are in oppisition to what true followers follow, all that other stuff is an excuse.

Holman Christian Standard Bible - Preface
"The Tetragrammaton occurs 6,828 times in the Hebrew Bible. Nearly all English versions follow the ancient tradition of rendering the Divine name as “the Lord.” The King James Version makes only four exceptions (Exodus 6:3, Psalm 83:18, Isaiah 12:2, and Isaiah 26:4), where it renders the name as “Jehovah.” The first edition of the HCSB used “Yahweh” seventy-five times, and the 2009 revision increased the number to 476, although the ordinary rendering continues to be “the Lord.” One of the editors of the version has explained why the version uses “Yahweh” in the places where it does: We use it as the rendering of YHWH (which the Hebrew Bible editors first rendered as Adonai, “Lord”) whenever God’s “name” is being given (either explicitly, using the word “name,” or implicitly), when He is being identified (“I am Yahweh”), when He is being contrasted to other gods such as Baal, in certain repeated phrases such as “Yahweh the God of your fathers,” or when YHWH has been rendered by Yahweh in the immediate context. … our objective is to introduce to the contemporary church what is the most likely pronunciation of the divine name YHWH in the Hebrew Bible. We did not render the majority of occurrences of YHWH as Yahweh because our goal is not only to be accurate but to use an English style that is most familiar to people. Since most Christians today probably do not commonly speak of “Yahweh,” but rather of “the Lord,” we felt it would be insensitive to use Yahweh for YHWH in every case and would make the Bible seem too uncomfortable for most people."

Yeremyah 23:26-27, "How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Yes, they are prophets of the deceit of their own minds plan and scheme, to cause My people to forget My Name through their dreams, which they tell every man to his neighbor, just as their fathers have forgotten My Name for Baal."

Psalm 44:20-21, "If we have forgotten Your Name, Yahweh, or if we stretched out our hands to hinder gods, Would You not search this out, Yahweh? For You know the secrets of the heart."

Isayah 52:6, "Therefore My people will know My Name; Therefore they will know in that day that I am He Who speaks. Behold, it is I!"

Hizikiyah,

thanks for all of the info.,
the more we learn, the more we grow.

my husband and I began studying the Hebrew language and culture
long before this now Hebrew Roots Movement came about.
(we were both raised in 'southern/baptist' for a short while,
until God's Spiritual Truths became our top priority; the things we saw
and heard were surely not for tender-young eyes and ears.

we have learned that you can't even begin to understand the NT
without a least acquiring a 101 background in the OT,
so many things just won't make any sense to one with it.

we also noticed, from the very beginning that if we told others that we were studying Hebrew
and were convicted to keep Sabbath, it was always a very perplexed, WHY?
we were never offended.

during WW11, Jewish Art was considered very offensive because it was 'non-german',
if you get the drift.

Praise Yahweh, I love when you said, "God's Spiritual Truths became our top priority" I believe the same, its not always comforting at first, but the truth sets us free!

I agree so much in the "NT" will be missed when there is no understanding of "OT"

Yeah I was told my whole life Sabbath was for Jews, I used to read the 10 when I was a child and ask why dont we do the Sabbath thing, and what is it?

I always got a vague explanation and basically that the Sabbath was for Jews only, when I got older I read this:

Isayah 56:1-7, "This is what Yahweh says: Keep the judgments, and do justly; for My salvation is near, soon, to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them; and keeps his hand from doing any evil. Do not let the son of the Gentile, who has joined himself to Yahweh, speak, saying; Yahweh has utterly separated me from His people. Nor let the eunuch say; Behold, I am a dry tree. For this is what Yahweh says: To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and choose those things which please Me, and hold fast to My covenant: I will give to them, in My House, even within My walls, a place and a Name equal to that of sons and of daughters; I will give them the Name of The Everlasting: YAHWEH; which will not be cut off. Also the sons of the Gentile who join themselves to Yahweh, to serve Him, and to love the Name of Yahweh, to be His servants--everyone who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them and who holds fast to My covenant--I will bring them to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My House of prayer..."

This was the beginning of me honestly searching for truth, not just going along.

So much was opened up to me, and praise Yahweh I had more time to study because evey 7th day (at minimum) was 100% fully devoted to Him, not 50%, not 99%, but 100%

Yes I understand about the anti-semitisim, the social architects have done a sorceress work in the minds of the people, alot of these comments have a "spirit of constantine (figure of speech) to them...

Thing is we must toss every thing non-Yahweh aside, whether it be Roman, Jewish, American, etc and focus on Yahweh, if some of those Yahweh things the world considers "Jewish" so be it!

New American Bible - Preface
"A superficial difference between two of these sources is responsible for their names: the Yahwist prefers the name Yahweh (represented in translation as Lord) by which God revealed himself to Israel; the Elohist prefers the generic name for God, Elohim. The Yahwist is concrete, imaginative, using many anthropomorphisms in its theological approach, as seen, e.g., in the narrative of creation in Genesis 2, compared with the Priestly version in Genesis 1. The Elohist is more sober, moralistic. The Priestly strand, which emphasizes genealogies, is more severely theological in tone. The Deuteronomic approach is characterized by the intense hortatory style of Deuteronomy 5-11, and by certain principles from which it works, such as the centralization of worship in the Jerusalem temple."

Why do modern translations follow the decree of the pharisees?

Adonai (Lord) is the title that was used by the Pharisees to replace the Name of the Creator:

Talmud - Mas. Yoma 39b
His brethren [that year] the priests forbore to mention the Ineffable Name (Yahweh) in pronouncing the [priestly] blessing.4 Our Rabbis taught: During the last forty years before the destruction of the Temple the lot [‘For the Lord’] did not come up in the right hand; nor did the crimson-coloured strap become white/"

Its vowels combined with the tetragrammaton form the word "Yahweh (Yahweh)."
