I don't think it's sinful :) well not for sure either way

I personally would not get a tattoo or piercing
Pretty happy how God made me :) it would be like taking a brush to a Monet
for me the original artist got it right the first time

I think mainly I don't understand why
some people will look at you and say that's cute :D others will judge you and say all sorts of stuff
if it's just for you I don't get that at all
guess it is my age but what's it do for you
at the same time I don't care if others do it at all
I do think it's funny when kids at school get piercings everywhere and then sit around and complain about people noticing they have facial piercings

I did die my hair blue once :) I liked it but my Dad made I good point about the attention it gained
so yeah I am just an all natural the way I am person
again if others want to do that stuff it's their choice

...I've got an excessive amount of chocolate truffles and sugar cookies over here...

Thought that should be shared....oh, and the sweets, too...
Seriously, someone help me eat these before I do it all by myself...!

I did the belly button piercing junk for my 18th birthday.
Found out too late I was allergic to the metal of the ring they put in.

So now I have this lovely scar, 10 years later.

But I do love having my nose pierced. Though...getting it done felt like being shot in the face.
...not that I've ever been shot in the face to really know that...

In Ezekiel 16.12, the Lord even gives Zion a nose ring.

I think ppl ought to be careful not to say that something is supposedly unScriptural when maybe all it is is their own personal preference, one way or another.

Not from a belly button ring, no. However, since you can't really notice anything if you have it out, I would advise not wearing one if you are on a date that you think he may see your belly button after or at some point during the night. And then get to know him and see if he is cool with it, then you can start wearing it. You definitely wont lose a guy for NOT having a belly button ring, but you could lose on from HAVING one. **edited**

A lot of young women have them, including Christian young women, if the truth is known. Whether one is worn is often unknown to most people; a lot depends on whether it's beach weather, I guess. Like earrings they are probably unnecessary but kind of inconsequential, whether worn or not.

To each their own. I am probably much different than most people when it comes to this. Don't like tattoos or jewelry. I am drawn to people that have learned how to be happy with who they are without adding ornaments. That is just me. Most of the guys I do know that really like piercings and tattoos seem to be more interested in the woman's body than in who she is. Just an observation. I realize that this is not normal thinking though when I do rarely watch TV when visiting family. Hollywood seems to mostly dictate what is cool and fashionable.

Can't think of anything off the top of my head that would condemn a belly button piercing.

My own personal opinion is I am not too big a fan of piercings, but I must confess, I always did find the belly button piercing on a woman to be pretty sexy. So going off that I would say as long as your husband is the only one seeing your belly-button piercing, you should be okay.

I guess best analogy I could make is sexy clothing. Something to be left for you and your husband's eyes only, don't wear the stuff in public lol.

It's such a widespread custom that in beach weather some young women probably feel they are not fully dressed if they don't have a bar inserted. Whether this is objectively the case, is another matter. (My wife doesn't feel fully dressed if she goes out without 'putting on her face', for example; a rather different situation, but a comparable concept, I suppose.) Beach weather has a lot to do with it, I guess. Personally I wouldn't encourage the wearing of belly bars. But also I reckon it needs to be acknowledged that many young women are rather self-conscious and there are various things they feel they must wear and would feel rather self-conscious if they did not, and in beach weather this may be one of them. (But what do I know?)

Wow. A thread that was Zombied once, now re-Zombied. Re-reanimated? Hmm.

Minor of an issue as it may seem, i would likely not involve myself with a woman who had one. But thats my view, others will see things differently.
Well, I would hope that by the time that you had gotten to know her well, the matter of whether she turned out to have one or not to have one would make little difference, seeing as you had already gotten to know her well.

(Two cents...)

seems to me it would only be useful if you can attach a cup holder to it to hold water.

Well, for a lot of young women anyway it's just like going for ear piercings; it's all done in a few moments. (Make sure you do it someplace which is reputable and clean.)

Reputable? Come on, they poke holes in your body, so how can it ever be reputable? :p

Something the young women just have to decide for themselves, when old enough, anyway.
