this thread makes feel like all of them really badly :P - posting on here can bring out the worst in people :)

So in my last thread i asked whats your favourite Passage and this was mine

Galatians 5:22-26

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

The fruits i need to work on at this particular moment (besides all of them - as we are always having to work on these fruits) is:

Patience, Self-control, Peace - these are the once i would like to concentrate on for a month

Why a month you as - well it can take 21 days to make/break a habit,, so i try to improve myself for a month (on fruit at a time), then it will stick - with ongoing work of course :)

You can find a short study Here on (the works of the flesh and) the fruit of the Spirit...

Yahweh Shalom

Good question ! thanks for asking it... test test and test!! Right now God is working qith me on responding "with a fruit" instead of "eating a fruit" that may be sour....focus focus focus

Well I for one know I was in a mood last night; my apologies for not being more welcoming. Yes we are all short on all of the fruit. It is so non-evident in society. I need to work on that... those.

Welcome to the lion's den, I'm sorry your initiation has been a little rough. But people play hardball here, more intent on proving their opinion-based facts than on finding the Higher ground truth. Not all of us, of course, but this is the land of verse wars and if you want 'touchy feely' stuff you're taking a risk. If you're not looking to debate verses, there might be better forums for it (still here at CC). And that's not saying you're not welcome here, just remember your audience. They're not bad people. Just badly represented sometimes. Like I did last night. Sorry.

I love prayers. If you could take a leading like fruit of the Spirit and work it into a prayer that I could give an amen to... where two or more agree, right? That counts here. And we're gettin' to the day where we need to make it all count.

Lord God, where is our fruit? Where is the love, temperance, and longsuffering, those things we know we should bear naturally and yet find ourselves having to work on? Why are our vines so bare? Make us perfect, my Lord, make me perfect, as even I work on perfection in myself. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Lord God may Your Spirit gift me with the resources I need to produce these; Lord God may I follow Your lead to produce them in myself. For I know I am week on all counts, Lord, as evidenced here. Forgive me Lord, forgive me all, for sharing thorns. Amen.

apology accepted and thanks - i will take note of the audience in here before posting, and my apologies for biting and getting defensive :)

could you be more picky The HIghwayman - do you feel better for having the need to say that?????

Take a breath, I am very picky when it comes to the word, because without being picky one can be easily deceived...

putting an s in was accidental and it wasnt to deceive anyone - you can be picky - but even in your mind you must realise that that was to picky - especially since i have now told you it was accidental

trees don't decide for themselves what sort of fruit to produce - but the Gardner that plants them decides what will be in His orchard.

if we seek first to walk in the Spirit, the fruits of doing so naturally follow.

it all quite alright...really it is...

These posts are explaining the places I am working so hard on the fruits of the spirit. After we put on Christ, after we put the armor of God around us, we have to watch our thoughts. It is "ain't it awful" "I have been hurt" "why am I so criticized" etc. thoughts that keep the fruits away.

Php_4:8 Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable--if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise--dwell on these things.

It is when are minds are kept to the things we are told of in Philippians that we can have the fruits. Every time we are judgmental, critical, unloving we are not helping the fruits grow in ourselves and others.

What is the point of me, practicing the fruits of the SPIRIT (and correction, not SPIRITS) in hypocrisy, when i do not 'give up the fruits of the flesh (vs 19-21) and its passions and desires (vs 24) that wars against the SPIRIT, to keep you from doing the things you want to do' (end of vs 17). End of verse 21 says;

"..........................., I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things (fruits of the flesh) 'will not' inherit the Kingdom of GOD."

That is why my life will be, a living with the dead world, in strife to Good and Holy things (choked with the thorn bushes). In hidden secrecy and privacy of the Spiritual knowledge of carnality and only witnessing in the gift of the SPIRIT (1 Corinthians chapter 12) in hypocrisy poverty, dead to the obedience and the will of GOD's every Word.

My life in actuality to the Living Truth of the Holy Bible and according to the new Covenant in justification correction, indicates of a structure founded in between the fruits of the carnality and the fruits of the SPIRIT, which is 'Lukewarm' and continuing, in ignorance, ready to be spat out by the LORD and into a ditch that is ahead of me.

This is the LORD's spoken words of the 'lawlessness' of many, the ones in ignorance on that day proclaiming and justifying to the LORD, their righteousness while on earth using GOD's gifts in labor for HIS Kingdom (Matthew 7;21-23).
