What's Your Favourite Book of the Old Testament?

Well, from the Torah portion, my favorites are Exodus & Leviticus.

From the Neviim, (Prophet portion), my favorites are Book of Isaiah & Book of Zechariah.

From the Ketuvim, (Writing portion), my favorites are definitely Book of Daniel & I, II Chronicles.

I love Exodus.

Exodus is great but for me, there's one big difficulty I have with the book that stops it from being in my favourites. Much of the last half of Exodus just contains too much detail about exterior and interior design for me to be able to enjoy it. But more power to you, Grace.

Mine would have to be Job.
I love reading what he went through. Its amazing to me how it all happened and how he still loved God.
It's a beautiful and touching life lesson that I feel everyone can learn from.

Yes, we need Job's trusting patience, so often. It's a very instructive book!

Esther was in a very difficult situation, but the Lord preserved her and His people!

Heh I was hoping someone out there would mention Judges!

I gotta go with 1 and 2 Kings, but Judges is definantly the runner up for my favorite OT book after Kings. Again mostly because I felt it is so relatable to our time era and my environment. Also as a politics junkie I always found the Judges era to be very interesting as Israel had no earthly king or form of central government. Kind of like an anarchy system, but not really an anarchy since the people were kept together by God and the moral codes he laid out in the times before.

Proverbs. It has 31 chapter so I can read a chapter a day on top of my yearly Bible reading. This means I will get to read Proverbs 31 (advisable for woman to read this one) around every 2-months roughly. Proverbs is just full of wisdom.

It is the last book of the Nevi'im, which is part of the Tanakh (aka the Old Testament). In the Christian version, they are broken into the Books of Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk (my favorite), Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi.

So far mine is Exodus. But then, my church is making its way through the Old Testament this year, I started mainly in the New Testament before. So my favorite could change a few times by years' end.
