There are so many things that can make one "happy." Happy is a temporary state of the mind. It only lasts as long as whatever causes that emotion is in effect. Now, nothing wrong with momentary happiness, it is a healthy thing in my opinion.

However, JOY is a spiritual state of being that is eternal. Joy is found in the Lord, and one can have joy even in the most dire of circumstances. While happy is ok, I pray for the joy found in the Lord my God.

hello my friend p_rehbein:)
i count joy the same as happiness:D being happy is a state of contentment, and gratitude. i am happy all the time, even if times are troubled. life itself is such a gift.

crossnote, helping someone truly in need and sharing the gospel with a hungry soul are things that bring the Lord and the angels happiness and joy!:) even looking for opportunities to do these things brings happiness.

thank you my friends!

So what reptiles do you have? :)

My wife and I saw an alligator in SC. There is a reptile sanctuary at South of the Border, I-95, in SC.

So many things:
Jesus
Reading my Bible
Sharing the Bible with others
Good sermons
My husband, family, and friends
Sunshine
The smell of fresh cut grass
The sound of a baby laughing
The feeling I get when one of my students is successful
My dogs (and all dogs--I am a crazy dog lady)
Helping others who are not able to help themselves
A kind word when it is unexpected

I could go on and on, so many things bring me joy in life:)

Blessed means Happy :
Matt: 5
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.

when it's all a bit overwhelming, like I can't quite wrap my head around a thing and I can't trust something enough to let go...to be....courageous, it's those hours I just want to lay there with God for a spell....
