To be for something you must be against something that is in opposition to the thing you is for.

To be for Christ you must be against sin.

For the cause of Christ
Roger
Is that not implied in wanting His will to be done?
He is light and in Him is no darkness at all. "Protesting" is about pumping up ones own flesh.

Again you are missing the point. The Christian walk is like a farmers field and before the planting season you walk thru the field and pick the giant rocks (sin) that are on the surface of the ground after you have tilled your field. You plant and in the fall you reap your harvest. As you repeat this process the rocks may get smaller but they become infinitely more numerous. In the life you will never have a field free of rocks and weeds.

The point is that God understands you and knows the depths of your being more than you ever possibly could.

Search me oh God and see if there is any offensive way in me.....
Good Parallel. You still must Plant, fertlize, till, work, seed. You can't just Plow and pick up Rocks and expect to get food or be saved. You may be missing my POINT!

It would be a foolish farmer who planted his crop and walked away from it. A garden must be tended. There is no middle ground. A heart left untended will be overgrown with weeds on a single season.

I don't think we can take always take things for granted when people say things in regard to religion. The word "Christian" has implications that are not always met by those who call themselves Christian. The part of an organization's statement of faith that says "We believe the Bible is without error." has implications that are not always met by all groups either.

Protesting is not always about pumping ones own flesh. Otherwise Martin Luther King (and Martin Luther) were very bad men, along with a great number of other men. Furthermore, there is nothing in the Bible against negative reinforcement. Actually, it often encourages it.

"Cry loudly, do not hold back; Raise your voice like a trumpet, And declare to My people their transgression And to the house of Jacob their sins." Isaiah 58:1

We will do what Jesus says to do, well said. Do not judge the liberty of salvation. If any come to Christ then good fruit is proven. If none, then prophecy to them and if they do not hear, go away. I tell you, I have found more of God's children at this site than within any church building. This fellowship is of liberty, whereas the other kind is scheduled. Therefore the Spirit may instruct and save more here than in the buildings. The same can be found in the streets, the hills, the valleys, the plains, the deserts, and the tundra. If a place has air conditioning, then more of the flesh shall arrive than the Spirit. Stop looking for the church on a given day of the week! The Lord is everyday and His Spirit may be found in the most unlikely of people. But as you say, do not submit to agreement with those who defend their sins, calling God a liar. But I see no reason to judge jeans and a t-shirt.
You TOTALY missed the point......LoL You are correct in a sence, the Church is the People. Are you taking the Lord's Supper here? Are you Singing here? Are you giving here? Are you Assembling here? Is Christ getting the First place of Honor here?

I understand where you are coming from but don't we have a different model to follow now? The fulfillment of the law, Jesus. The only time Jesus protested was against the religious, not against the sick.

I myself have made a few posts about being on fire for Christ and actually going out and getting your hands dirty. I've also seen a number of other people do so.

These posts generally get few replies and when they do, they tend to be negative or one or two people responding positively.

Yet folks will sit on here all day and debate theology and talk about silly/mundane subjects that have nothing or little to do with eternal matters.

The brother is correct. Folks are more concerned about comfort than Christ and entertainment rather than knowing God.
Well, at 23 years old you go sir! Thanks for your service.

And on top of that, Jesus never advocated for overthrow of the system He lived under. I think this was one of the reasons judas betrayed him. He advocated fir the overthrow of the govt of men's hearts.

I believe we do have a new model to follow rather than the law. However, this instance of preaching against sin is not a case of OT vs NT. One of the first things that Jesus is recorded saying in His ministry is "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near" (Matthew 3:2) . The apostles were no different in their ministry. In fact, the Gospel message is said to be so heart-cutting to people living in willful sin that it is guaranteed "Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted" (2Timothy 3:12).

An interesting instance in the NT is the part where John the Baptist gets killed for telling one of the most powerful leaders around him that he was living in sin for being with his brother's wife. It's not a matter of kicking a sick person when they are down. It's a matter of having the courage to tell the sick person the truth about their illness (whether they would like to deal with it or not) and then telling them the cure for it. If you say "I've got the cure for you!" to a random person on the street, they'll likely just say "okay..." and keep walking, thinking there is nothing wrong in their life. You've got to tell people about their illness before you start explaining the cure.

Did John the Baptist not speak out of love? Are you speaking out of hate or arrogance when you yell for your child to not put their finger in the electrical outlet as they reach for it?

The sick knew they were sick, most the religious figured themselves righteous enough, thank you.

You are correct. It's not a matter this vs that. It's a matter of learning from Jesus and how he approached the darkness in peoples hearts. It was with precision and uniqueness to the individual. His approach to the lost was not with a one size fits all mindset.

The sick apart from Christ DO NOT know they are sick. If this were true the religious leaders would have humbled themselves to Jesus' teaching. Christ is the surgeon and he cut out the cancer. The Holy Spirit is the dietician that tells you what to eat to keep it in remission. The law reveals the flaws.

God also hates sin and His terrible wrath abide upon sin.

Christ receives all who come to Him. He came to them and shed His blood that they might have forgiveness of sin. They come filthy and leave spotless.

The point is that what brings people to Jesus is not a bunch of words strung together with fancy scripture interpretation, nor is it condemning someone who is not part of His kingdom. It is living life as tho Jesus is living thru you and meeting people right where they are.....right wrong or indifferent. HE DOES THAT FOR ALL OF US....does he not? I do understand that professing Christians are to be treated differently but I would submit to you that many that attend church do not understand the gospel in large part because those who say they are followers of Christ do not display it in how they live their lives or in their speech or attitudes. Go ahead, be critical of people here if you must, but don't do it to someone's face who might only just need to be heard. That IMHO would be tragic.

I hope I can say this in a way you will understand. I am not great with words are Punciation and spelling. But, here go's.

Just the first part of this post, I don't agree with. Why, because by the Follishness of Preaching Jesus said some are saved. Also, the Eunuch was reading the OT and Phillip asked him understand what your reading? He siad hoiw can I excpt some man should guide me, and Phillip taught him. Probably many other places we are told that word are key in salvation. Oh, Felix said thou persaudest me to also be a Christian, he didn't do it, but, Paul was sure preaching to him. Teaching, Preaching are close related words. Also remembed? thou have the words of life. I will make bold the part I don't agree with.

On the word condemning I don't mean to pass sentense. People can change. I am sure I could be more dipomatic, Your talking to and 66 year old country Hillybilly, with 5 years of HS, and education equal to a second grader. That is probably alone reason enough not to follow me. However if what I say/teach is from the bible and you see it, don't let my education get in your way. Of doing what God teaches.

Like I said I been doing this for 16 years and yet to have anyone say that was great Pete I never saw that before. The power is in the word so I just keep putting it out there.
