I'd just walk into Subway and order a ham sandwich... lol. If they say, we don't carry that I'd ask why. After they deny the truth, then I'd tell them the truth and add that they just work there and, of course, I understand it's not their decision and leave. Plenty of places to eat around.
 
If our biggest worry this week is what they're serving at subway...

Heard on Facebook that Muslims have gotten Subway to remove pork products from their menu.


Origins: Founded in Connecticut in 1965, the Subway sandwich chain has expanded to more than 41,000 locations in over 100 countries. Since 2007, Subway's corporate policy
has been to permit menu item substitutions in areas where the local customer base follows dietary restrictions. In India, many franchises substitute lamb and chicken items for beef and pork throughout their menus, and some do not sell any meat products at all. In the United States, Subway has several kosher franchises that do not carry pork products or serve dairy with meat.

In the United Kingdom and Ireland, fewer than 200 out of 1,500 Subway sandwich franchises conform to Muslim dietary restrictions: their meat suppliers are certified halal, and no pork products are used. Instead, those locations use turkey products to substitute for ham and bacon. Halal stores are clearly identified by signs throughout, including on the menu panels and in the front windows.

There are currently no halal Subway franchises in the United States.

ACtually, Michelle Obama and her federal eating guidelines are now endorsed by Subway. Subway will now only offer a kids menu that goes with the Federal guidelines of school lunches.
In other words you cannot take your child into Subway to order what they want. It has to meet federal guidelines.
This also goes over into the adult sandwiches at well. The guys that run the Subway here were reprimanded by their supervisor and told them they are putting too much on their sandwiches. The example they gave me was a man came in and always wants extra black olives on his sandwich. They are now only allowed 6 olives on a footlong, and if they ask for extra they can only give 2 or 3 extra olives due to the recent Federal Guidelines.

While I am pleased that Michelle wants children to eat healthy she needs to keep her nose out of other families. I gave birth to my child. I have raised him, and I have done a pretty decent job. Controlling how our children eat is crossing the line. Controlling how many vegetables an adult wants on a made to order sandwich THEY PAY FOR is ridiculous.
 
What are the penalties for violating her empress's royal sandwich decree?

sadly there are only 5 Subways in America that serve only kosher food.

and no one blaming Obama for it.
 
there are almost 400 Subway restaurants in India, none of which sell beef or pork.

that's more than twice the number in the UK that specifically cater to Muslim demographics.

still, no one blames Obama.

I have no idea, they may close down the store, but I will say my Subway guys do disobey their superiors to meet the customers needs. They tried to submit to authority but didnt like be cussed out evidently.

What's interesting is the owners are from India. They are citizens, but they flat out told me they had more freedom in this country BEFORE they became citizens. Interesting, huh?

They also sell pork lol.

Meh as long as Subway is only removing pork from their menu and aren't enforcing the dedication of their food to the idol of the Kaaba then there is nothing to really complain about here. May even be something of a hidden blessing since pork is pretty unhealthy even from a secular standpoint. Even though Islam is twisted, we should not be trying to force our muslim brothers to eat pork especially when really its an unhealthy food anyways.


Honestly I am kinda surprised this be the Islam-related news that people are worried about today considerring there is a report of the followers of the Black Flag of the Abomination of Islam have crucified and executed many of our human brethren in Raqqa, Syria.

If these people can suffer to be crucified and tortured by the evil of Islam, surely we can suffer one restauranter corporation banning pork which ya probably shouldn't eat anyways unless you're starving regardless of your religion.

Too much worry about food in that religion, it's just food.
 
Rule 1: The customer is always right.
Rule 2: If you know the customer is wrong, see Rule 1.

As I said on the other thread, the real story is about how Islam and Muslims are about 100% of the population in certain areas of UK towns and cities. In those areas I doubt they sell any bacon in those stores anyway. Just give the customer what they want.

I eat only veggie subs. LOVE their veggie sub on Honey Oat.
Eat cold with sweet onion dressing. YUMMY.
