The part of your post I emboldened tells me you do not have enough knowledge on this subject to have an intelligent conversion about it. Further more although I do believe as Arminius did, he nor I believe that everyone who asks Jesus in their heart is automatically saved.
So am I wrong that calvinism came before armenism or that the accept Christ in your heart thing started about 40 years ago?
So you also don't believe in total depravity?
No limited atonement? I didn't know you were a univeralist.
The reason I believe we don't have a choice is because that was one of the first things I noticed when I started reading the bible.
Come on people, you can't choose to love God. Do you know why? Because you love sin. Jesus made it clear that you can't love both. He also said that if the SON makes you free, you will be free indeed. Also you have a harden heart. a heart of stone. Can we decide to make our heart flesh? Umm no.
If you believe that the verse says God desires the whole world to come to repentance then you would have to believe in universalism because the scriptures also say that God does all that He pleases.
The only thing a man can do is decide that life sucks and maybe God can fix his life. I don't know if you can even credit that to the man and not actually him being lead by the Holy Spirit to seek God. Because the scriptures also say that none seek God, all have went astray, each to their own way.
I wonder how many people believe that they should do what they hate to do so God doesn't throw them in hell.
