The Dedication Ceremony for the 911 Memorial Museum took place today. I'm glad it is open, for it will serve as a constant reminder of the tragedy that occurred on that day. Over 2,800 people lost their lives when radical Islamic Terrorists committed a horrific act of cowardly murder.
That being said, what I want to talk about is that it was announced that when the Museum opens to the general public next Wednesday, there will be a $24.00 Admission Fee for adults. I've been thinking about this and will admit that I am torn as to if this is proper or not.
My HEART says............WHAAAA???? Are you kidding? The price of admission was paid in blood by over 2,800 innocent people who lost their lives that day...........
My HEAD says............Yeah, but........they will need to hire Staff to keep the Museum open, clean, serviced and such. There will need to be Curators and other Administrative Personnel, and these folks have to be paid.........And, given that most anyone can go out to have a good meal.......Steak Dinner........at a decent restaurant, and drop $24.00 in a heart beat, so it ain't really all that much.........
As I said, I'm torn on this............but I will say that if ever the opportunity arose, and I was in NYC, I would pay the $24.00 to tour the Museum.
