Okay, heres something to ponder. Would you let a homosexual into your church? because MY BIBLE says Jesus went to the highways and the biways to reach out to the lost therefore yes I would allow them in my church.
First its not really up to me who comes into church.

Second the best place for a homosexual, or any sinner is in church. If he or she is not repentive, I doubt the stay will be long, IF the word of God is preached.

SonInme Whew! you went in hard! (Applauds from the believer section) The truth will make us free and you just told several truths but you remained steadfast on THE TRUTH and did not get sidetracked on the agenda from the sympathizers of sin. In that you have shown great insight.

Yes, but you realize that is WINSTON, the good guys, position.

Funny that you elect to assume the role of Big Brother, O'brien.
Yet another 'silly answer?'
O'Brien isn't Big Brother in the novel btw.

SonInMe, you have never dealt with same-sex attraction. I however do. I despise my sinful flesh, but I don't go out preaching hate. You have, by preaching that it's all about sex, when it isn't.

No Thomas, the REAL hate is perpetrated by those calling OTHERS hateful for saying that homosexual sex is a sin that needs to be acknowledged as such, confessed, and repented of.
I have, and continue to struggle, in the area of lust. I will not sugar coat it. It IS sin, and it is not only right, but an OBLIGATION for my Christian brothers and sisters to admonish me if I engage in it, and forget about it if I confess and turn from it. And if I stumble in it again to repeat the above process.

Never said it wasn't a sin. It is a distasteful sin and an abomination. My point PennEd is that SonInMe has no idea what it is like to hate yourself, fearing that God made you only to hate you. Fearing that God is goin to burn you in Hell for an eternity. Afraid that someday you'll be walking down the street, and suddenly have your head smashed in, because people think that your a disgusting monster out to corrupt the world. That's why it's not just about sex. It's about fear and loathing, trying to find someone who might love you. So, we give into what we despise about ourselves, and it feels freeing only to come crashing down because once again, you've disappointed the only being in the whole universe that seems to care and love you, and yet you still fear He hates you. So before you go on judging claiming that I want to see children afflicted with this fear, just shut up and honestly try to think what it's like to fear the whole world and the God who created it!

Can't hatred be expressed by two sides of the same argument?

To go against natural systems in a way that actual bodily harm exists is a fairly demanding proclamation that homosexual activities are all about sex.

You do understand that love exists outside of sex?

You do understand that the bible says love does not delight in sin? That means in sin there is no love.

I understand sexual perversion very well. It may not have been homosexuality, may not have been, but I understand quite well what seeking sex primarily does to someone and the changes someone makes in their lives to fulfill those desires. It becomes all consuming.

To put it simply, a homosexual is a sexual pervert. They have a limited base to choose from and as it is with all sexual perverts, they want more and more sex. To get that, they must promote it. Since there is a political ideology all ready to embrace another set of people living outside of biblical principles, they get what they want.

Promotion. This fight has nothing to do with rights as I said earlier. Its about getting some.

To suggest there is love in homosexual unions cheapens the meaning of the word love and goes against clear cut biblical principles. You can feel what you want to and believe me, men and women have confused love with so many other things today its really hard to define love anymore, but the fact is love is so much more than the little flutter in your heart when you see someone you are ''attracted'' to.

Not sure I know what your post even means, but I know this: Not telling someone the truth of the Gospel, and allowing them through NOT telling them, and in some cases promoting the continuation of their sin, is showing the ultimate hatred toward that person. What is worse? Making them feel good about their sin, resulting in eternal destruction, or being politically incorrect by giving them the truth in a loving way, which might TEMPORARILY hurt them and you as well?

No One Is More Close-Minded And Intolerant Than A Liberal

ST. LOUIS (CBS St. Louis) — The complexion of the National Football League changed last Saturday after Michael Sam became the first openly gay player to be drafted. People worldwide saw the video of Sam getting emotional on the phone talking to St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher after getting picked, then embracing and kissing his boyfriend, Vito Cammisano.
“In the end, I am glad our team made the decision we did,” he told The Monday Morning Quarterback regarding showing the kiss on air. “It was a really cool moment to be involved in.”

Sam getting drafted and the kiss were mainly met with positive results, though there were some detractors. Both the Miami Dolphins’ Don Jones and former Mississippi basketball player Marshall Henderson took to Twitter to denounce Sam kissing his boyfriend during the NFL Draft broadcast.
ESPN producer Seth Markman, who oversaw the network’s draft coverage, called it an emotional and historic moment.
“In the end, I am glad our team made the decision we did,” he told The Monday Morning Quarterback regarding showing the kiss on air. “It was a really cool moment to be involved in.”
With the league and the media seemingly embracing Sam, attention has turned to a player that’s not currently playing – Tim Tebow – and raising questions if there is a double standard on how the two were received and treated.
Tebow, who last appeared for the New England Patriots during training camp in 2013, sat out the season after no other team decided to sign him. Despite his previous success
, Tebow has been slammed for his play and mocked by some for his Christian beliefs in some media outlets.

Peter Roff, a contributing editor at U.S. News & World Report, wrote in April 2013 that Tebow was treated like a “circus freak” by the New York media after he was traded by the Denver Broncos to the New York Jets.
“Tebow, you see, is a Christian – and is fairly open about. He seems to take the Biblical admonition not to hide one’s faith under a bushel rather literally,” Roff wrote. “He’s used eye black to put scriptural citations on his face on game days. He prays in public and talks about God in an utterly respectful, even loving way. He and his mother appeared in a Superbowl Sunday television ad that talked about the virtues of life and directed people to a website where they could learn more about abortion.
“The secular crowd, New York sports writers included, have never forgiven him for any of that,” Roff continued. “When he arrived at the Meadowlands he was treated more like a circus freak than the guy who helped Denver make the playoffs the previous year and might just be the thing to get the Jets offense in line.”
The New York Times reported in 2011 about the constant criticism Tebow received.
“One columnist in Denver called Tebow the worst quarterback in football,” reported the Times. “Another columnist in Canada labeled Tebow the ‘Kim Kardashian of sports,’ for the intense reaction he elicited. Online, the torrent of mockery and criticism has been fierce. Blog posts included ‘God explains why he let Tim Tebow fail’ and Twitter exploded in hateful vitriol, to which the Sports Illustrated writer Joe Posnanski mused: ‘I believe Tim Tebow isn’t an N.F.L. starter and I want him to prove me wrong because I believe he’s a great guy. Is that allowed?’”
The Christian Coalition of America told CBS St. Louis that there is a double standard of how Tebow’s religious beliefs were mocked compared to how Sam was received.
“I think that there was so much pressure on (Tebow) and that anytime you zero in on someone they can be open to mistakes,” said Michele Combs, spokeswoman for the Christian Coalition. “I do think that the pressure gets to you. I think that a lot of people wanted to see him fail unfortunately.”
Combs stated that there was a bias toward Christianity.
“I just think it’s amazing when someone talks about his religion, especially being a Christian, they are not embraced by the media or the Hollywood elite,” Combs said, adding that Americans do want to see Tebow get treated fairly.
“I think it’s just a certain elite group that has a lot of power and gets a lot of media’s attention,” she said. “I think a majority of Americans would like to see someone like Tim Tebow get the same equal treatment (as Sam).”
Wade Davis, executive director of You Can Play, doesn’t believe that there is a double standard between the reactions of Sam and Tebow.
“I don’t think either one was treated differently,” Davis, the former NFL player who came out as gay in 2012, told CBS St. Louis. “Unfortunately we live in a society where there is no middle ground, you either support or hate someone.”
Davis stated that fans don’t understand the business side to football as to why a player like Tebow is not in the league currently. “If you sit back and understand the game of football, you will understand why he will be cut,” Davis explained.
Davis also said that he isn’t worried about how his teammates will embrace Sam in the locker room.
“Athletes spend enormous amounts of time with one another,” Davis told CBS St. Louis. “Unlike your normal 9-5 job, athletes move through periods of discomfort much quicker because of the time they spend together.”
During an introductory press conference for the Rams draft picks, Sam said that his sexuality was never a secret. “Apparently, everybody else makes a big deal out of it,” Sam said. “But my teammates and my school didn’t.”
Sam also said that his focus right now is on football. “I will always support equality, period,” he said. “But my job is to focus on football and help this team win a championship.” source - CBS St. Louis

So the way I see it.... Tim Tebow is a nobody because he puts his knee
on the ground, say a silent prayer to God of Salvation....

The 'Gay' football player locks his lips with a male and he became a
hero?

Let me assure you all ..... God will not be mocked. He won't turn His
head away from this issue. The true winner is Tebow, even if he
never plays again.

Thanks to those who read this article.... Always nice to know it is worth
posting. J~K~2

In the couple hundred years that slavery was legal in the USA how many african americans were murdered? Probably no one will ever know.

How many were killed in the Jim Crow years after the civil war?

How many during the civil rights era?

All of those sacrifices and deaths are spit upon everytime some national african american figure compares homosexuality with their true fight for freedom in this country.

Oprah should be ashamed.

in the same vein I would love if media would stop using the homosexual moniker and start calling this what it is( sodomy) I bet that would change some perspectives or at least give the Bible credit for addressing this lifestyle that the sodomites engage in. just a thought

I started this thread. I am female. I have been trying to keep up with most
of the posts. I have to say this brings tears to my eyes. I don't want you
to feel God did this to you. In other words He did not put this desire you are
fighting, in you. He is not a God of torture. Satan does that. I pray you can
stand strong and keep believing you have the Victory through Jesus Christ our
Savior.

I have no idea where you stand with Christ. Are you a Christian ? I will pray
for you and keep believing our Lord is going to heal your wounds and help you
stay straight. He can and will remove all desires as long as you keep focused
upon Him. You have the Victory.

I am a celibate chaste Catholic Christian who places and joins all of my suffering to the Cross and the Passion of Christ. It's taken me a long time to get here. But I can still remember the way I used to feel, and still rebuke Satan every time I find someone attractive because I know where that road leads. By the grace of God, I have been celibate for three years coming up on four in August. God has not seen fit to heal me of this thorn, but I trust and obey. For if I ever fornicate again, I won't be just hurting myself, but also cheating on my betrothed King.

God bless you for being open and honest. I can tell you there are
many of us who go through attractions. Not all are of the same sex,
but still have had to battle attractions. Even if I am only one to admit
to it, I know what having to call upon our Lord to take away feelings
I should not have. The difference is ... yours is hardest to battle, and
I am pleased you know Christ and would not want to hurt Him ~ Bless you.

This was a very honest, heart-felt post by you Thomas. I am compelled to respond to a couple of points. NOWHERE did I say you wanted to see children afflicted with any fear. please stop putting words in my mouth and quote me directly. I find it interesting that you think your sinful desire trumps everyone elses. I have gone down that road of self-loathing, fear of condemnation, and a hatred of the sinful fleshly desires, even while doing them, more times than I can remember, with devastating results. I am here to tell you that Satan's most potent weapons are PRIDE and GUILT. If he can get you to focus on yourself by making you think you are a great person, he'll be happy with that,(PRIDE) then when you fight that fleshly impulse he'll gladly try and push you to the other extreme and tell you your'e worthless, not deserving, of God's mercy and Grace, (GUILT) The key for him is to get you to focus on yourself rather than Jesus Christ and His perfect sacrifice for you.Once you recognize his tactics you can fight him much more effectively. WE ARE ALL SINNERS. That's the whole point of the need for a Savior. Study Romans extensively, pray, and remember that Jesus died for ALL your sins, the ones you committed yesterday the ones you committed today, and the ones you will commit tomorrow. May God's peace that passes all understanding come over you. In Jesus name. Amen
