Chocolate Oatmeal

what is something in your life that you deserve an "A" for effort, but a "D" or "F" in results?

I used to get Ds in "Conduct" when I was in grammar school... and I was always trying to be the best "Conductor" I could be. I wanted to improve my "conduct" so much I would even practice "conducting" while sitting in english class. I thought I was pretty good too but the teachers kept giving me Ds for "conduct". They said something about sitting at my desk and twirling my hands in the air. I said well yes, thats how I am going to get better at "conduct"... they didn't agree with me.
 :)

what are you most looking forward to in the coming summer months?

Retirement

if we held an "talent" show on cc, what would yours be?

I am almost ambidextrous (is that a talent?) but I thought it had too many syllables so I gave that up... so I don't know.

if you could only have one kind of cookie for the rest of your life, what would it be?

my homemade chocolate chip cookies, with extra dark chocolate chunks and pecans.

what is something in your life that you deserve an "A" for effort, but a "D" or "F" in results?

becoming a good joke teller.

or mastery over any meaningful multi-tasking abilities (for which i will compensate, by using my alliterative leanings).

what are you most looking forward to in the coming summer months?

a short little girly road trip i'm taking up north with a couple girlfriends.

oh, and going camping. also a few of the hikes i've planned in the next couple months.

what kind of spender are you (i.e. cheapskate, spend-everything-you-have, thrifty...)?

the last ten years have seen me go from someone who spent money quite freely to becoming a rather prudent shopper. i don't know if it's maturity or God changing me -- but i'm now more excited about what i've saved than what i've gotten at sephora.

there's also that smug delight in leveraging an opportunity to save money to get something i want for less.

p.s. i bought a pair of sick vintage boots last week for $10. major love.love.love.

if we held an "talent" show on cc, what would yours be?

my world class hula hoop-ing prowess. or making cartoon-y voices and impressions.

My phone says no to quoting or copy and paste today (actually it's more like operator error but it's embarrassing to admit that my phone is smarter than me so we won't talk about that...um...anymore). Anyway...

1. Soft, chewy oatmeal cookies.

2. Painting. Honestly, I have no idea what I'm even doing. Some of it turns out kinda neat, some of it is a disaster.

3. I have no real plans for summer. Sort of considering going to my class reunion, but...meh. Mostly it will just be nice to see things growing and blooming around town, instead of the constant gray and brown and white everything is around here from October to May.

4. The kind of spender I am just depends on what I'm buying. Nail polish and makeup, I'm a cheapskate. Clothes and shoes and the like, I'd say I'm thrifty. I rarely want or need anything that costs a whole lot, but once in a blue moon, I'll blow a ton of money on something ridiculous.

5. I'd be juggling. Poorly. I don't have any other talents that would be show-worthy (ie, entertaining to watch).

1. This is such a difficult question! I was going to say Morgan Freemen but the age disparity would be too much.
Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation, Lego Movie) and Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) - maybe in a psychological and philosophical thriller/comedy.

2. Sun-dried tomatoes and cheese.

3. Most parts of the world. The more dangerous parts, I guess eg. Cape Town, the Congo, Nineveh.

4. Playing Star Wars on the school playground. I was the Emperor Palpatine. Also, outside school - recreating the speeder chase through the forest on BMX bikes. Making jumps at the parks for BMXing, also creating our own worlds and mythology. Good times.

5. I don't know that I've met anyone famous.

NEW QUESTIONS!

1. If you were directing a movie, who would you cast as your leading man and woman?
Matt Damon and Rachel McAdams

2. Aside from lettuce, what are your two favorite salad ingredients?
Carrots and broccoli

3. In what part of the world would you hate to be by yourself?
Anywhere English isn't the main language. I can barely speak English, let alone Japanese or....Swahili...

4. What was your favorite childhood game?
Building swimming pools for barbies out of cement at the end of the driveway so snowplows got destroyed all winter. Or, you know, similar type junk. Weird kid stuff. I wasn't any good at any games, so I created my own entertainment.

5. Who is the most famous person you have ever met?

I met a dude from Simple Plan. No clue what his name is. He said he liked my shoes, and I said "Me too"...the friend that took me to that concert elbowed me in the ribs and told me I was lame.

1. If you were directing a movie, who would you cast as your leading man and woman?
I don't know about the guy, but I would cast Kristen Stewart in a movie and become famous for being the director that got her to have more than one facial expression.

2. Aside from lettuce, what are your two favorite salad ingredients?
Actually, my favorite salad (that I make) has spinach instead of lettuce....also bacon, feta, pan roasted pecans, green onion, more goodies....and a dressing that I make for this salad only...

I guess I have to say BACON and CHEESE - and that's my final answer!! :)

3. In what part of the world would you hate to be by yourself?
Any place where they hate white people.

4. What was your favorite childhood game?
I liked playing croquet at my grandparents' house. They had a three-tiered back yard; the top was grass, the middle had a shuffleboard court, and the bottom tier was kind of wild. We played in the top tier. When I hit another player's ball, I liked to whack it down the path to the lowest tier. The same would happen to me. This was especially challenging, as my dad's parents kept a "no cussing" household.

5. Who is the most famous person you have ever met?
[/QUOTE]

ummm...recently, I met one of the dudes from a Christian band, the 77's, which had a few hits in the 80's.....he was playing with a folk group. We chatted a little about how I liked their album "Ping Pong over the Abyss," which I think deserves honorable mention as one of the best album titles ever.
