I was thinking this myself when I saw it.

I understand the why they need adds if they are not getting donations. But this suprised me, I guess they can not ocntrol what adds appear.

I agree and was surprised myself....I understand as well why they need the extra influx of cash, but I have a hard time believing that they cannot control who they allow to place adds and they do not have to take the cash from this particular company.....kind of like spiritual fornication/adultery......what happened to making a stand for real?

Well if it's anything graphic then good thing ad-block is my friend...

And yeah, sites need funds in order for it to keep running to begin with. These days putting advertisements on sites is what's making the business. Otherwise if there's no ads, there's no funds. No funds means no site.

??? Got who and what?
Both of your posts, when I wrote that, had ads on them. I was just messing with you.
It seem like they hit me a lot. I don't really care for them either, but I don't really have much money and it is better spent elsewhere. I agree that they should be more Christian. Some of them are ridiculous, vain, and materialistic. To tell you the truth I try to ignore them.

I don't understand what your'e saying. How is selling ad space to keep the site running "loving money"? EVEN if the owner was making money why would you be against that? Are you against Capitalism?

You tell me ED! You think this is appropriate for a Christian Web Site?

I get it and I agree with you.....I don't have a problem with selling ads to keep it going and if I didn't have a $300,000 dollar a year cost to take care of my handicapped child I would gladly send some cash to keep it going....

My problem is (forcing me)<--HAH... to look at the ads that show smoking hot half naked women in an ad on a Christian Website so as to gain the money to keep it going.....:)

I do not know what the expenses are for running a forum like this.

I would prefer that they were in between posts and ran from side to side instead of giant blocks on half of my posts, or other peoples posts for that matter
It's probably not that expensive - as for the ad's they only generate income for the site if someone clicks on them.

The content for ad's can be restricted in the google ad control panel which the site gets when they sign up for displaying google ads - I have my own website so I restrict the content to "inoffensive" advertising.

I earned a whopping $200 last year from google ad's...I'm planning on retiring to the Bahama's.

Yeah I do as my brother is a computer guru, programs for Fidelity and has his own servers and maintains his own website while working with big clients from Washington D.C. and clients such as....

The Illinois Automobile Dealership Association
A.S.B.D.C
The Illinois Sheriffs Association

ETC.
...so you're just trying to live up to your screen name, aren't you?
perhaps more appropriately, we should direct our energy to our cable companies "what's up with the stupid ads when you've already charged me monthly?"
or to our government "what's up with the property taxes when I've already paid tax buying this property?"
.....

I am not sure of your first point as I have nothing to do with my brothers business and as far as points 2-3 or 4 I agree......
