God's foreknowledge is not as the anitchrist followers would tell us, that some of it is knowledge gained by Him merely foreseeing future events, but His foreknowledge is Knowledge based on the certainity of His Predeetermined immutable will or purpose, and so His Own Will and Purpose is the source of His Knowledge of all events that cometh to past, as James Preaches here Acts 15:18

18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

Known unto God are all his works,.... These are the words of James, and not of Amos; all the things which God does in the church and in the world, they were all foreknown and predetermined by him: from the beginning of the world; or from eternity; even all his works of creation, providence and grace: John Gill

God having determined all things is the source of their existence and His Own Knowledge.

Folks its nothing but blasphemy and atheism to say or even think, that God foreknew or foresaw that Adam would sin and bring the consequences thereof into the world, but yet He did not will for it to happen as it did to the exact; and anyone thinking like that should not call themselves a Christian or child of God, for they are a disgrace to that worthy Name and His Truth ! God created this World by wisdom, His Own Wisdom Prov 3:19

The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

Ps 104:24

O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

The antichrist, by saying that God gained Knolwedge of an event done by His creature, that He did not determine, are actually teaching us that God was taught knowledge Isa 40:14

With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?

Thats the blasphemy we have in man made religion today !1

God did not will that Adam would sin.

Known unto God are all HIS works, Sin isn't the work of God. Sickness isn't a work of God.
Disasters aren't the works of God.

Either way its speculation...lets be civil and not go around calling people blasphemous and atheists for their interpretation of a book describing a imaginary eternal transcendent omnipotent omniscient being.

I actually agreed with svedbygrace, it seems more consistent with the christian definition of God.
However, it can be problematic for some to conclude then that evil is the will of God and that He causes/allows evil for a greater good.

Jesus said that evil must by necessity enter into the world, but woe unto him through whom it comes.

It doesn't matter what you think fits Christianity, dose, because you are not.

God is not the author of evil, but He is author of justice. If He did not think disease would serve the purpose of glorifying Him, He would not allow it.

Haven't you read how a child was sick and the parents asked Jesus, "what sins have any of us committed that this should happen to him?" And Jesus said that no sin was committed but that the works of the Lord might be manifest through him. And then He healed him.

The OP is right that people should not be ignorant of God's command over time, and all things.

You just contradicted yourself.

Allowing evil for a greater good means you are the author of that evil, unless you cant stop the evil, but then God is not omnipotent .... take your pick.

Your example also disproves your point, so the girl was sick not because of anything she did or anyone else did but solely because God wanted to demonstrate His power .... thus God caused her to be sick for His own purposes.

But I thought sickness was result of the Fall ... why didn't Jesus say she is sick because of humanities sin nature...oh right that doctrine came later with Paul

Moral evil isn't the work of God; James 1:13-15 says that God tempts no one but man is tempted when he is enticed by his own desire. However, God certainly brings disasters upon evildoers...

Isaiah 45:7 I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the LORD, who does all these things.

If God created man knowing what would happen, Then He is responsible for all the sin and suffering in this world.

Just like God has the capacity to forget our sins, He has the capacity TO CHOSE, Not to know certain things.
And one of them was with Adam and Eve.

If God knew what would happen to Adam, Eve and mankind, Why would He repent of making Man, and be grieved, Gen 6: 6.

There are other scriptures that show that God didn't know certain things.

Immutability becomes a primary attribute of the Pre-Socratic, Platonist and Neoplatonist gods. Parmenides believed real being was immutable, Socrates and Plato would elaborate on real being and the nature of god, but Plotinus would develop a detailed and coherent systematic theology using immutability as one of the foundational concepts of his god.

hmmm

To understand the Bible, You need to know when it's God doing the talking, When it's a Biblical character talking and when it's the translator rightly or wrongly translating the scripture.

If scripture doesn't fit in with the rest of the Bible, Then it wasn't God who said it.

God said He saw everything that He made, And it was very good, Gen 1: 31.. NOT BAD OR EVIL.

We know God created light and darkness [The night time] and peace, And we know God didn't create evil.

You have to take the Bible as a whole, Not isolated scriptures.

I understand what you are saying but then how can you say that the bible is the inspired word of God??

You just admit that scripture in with error and is fallible...like a book written by men.

Now you get into deciphering the bible into what is from God and what is not...that becomes subjective based on the interpretation of the reader.

Which is exactly what has happened and why we have so many denominations and disagreements within christianity.

Therefore I agree with you, the bible is not infallible, it has discrepancies and contradictions, and not divine revelation.

I'm wondering if ''His Own Will and Purpose is the source of His Knowledge'', then what is the source of His Own Will and Purpose?
I think the weakness of the Reformed position is their heavy reliance on human philosophical reasoning when trying to understand the eternalities of God. It is safer to stick with what is said in His word, especially as revealed in His Son...God manifested in the flesh.

Then why not conclude God is not omniscient?

God does know al things, After His will, plans and purposes.
But if you know the Bible, You would know that God didn't know certain things. But only because He chose not to know.

Religion puts God in a box and limits His abilities.

Some of what is said in the Bible isn't inspired by God.

Good and evil, light and darkness, God and satan. It is difficult to see a black and white reality in a grey world. We exist in a reality where we witness good people suffering and evil people prosper and then wonder why people can not see God.

"The light shined in the darkness but the darkness could not comprehend it. ... But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." John 1:5,12

The true light was revealed in Jesus Christ, those who deny him remain in the darkness, those who receive him become children of the light. God created both those who remain in darkness and those who come to the light. In this grey reality that we live in many question God and why he has created such a reality we find ourselves in. As a believer I have questioned God many times on why he has made us to suffer and die, often at the hand of the wicked.

If God loves everyone why has he created some for eternal damnation? Why does he allow children to suffer? Why does he allow the wicked to abuse and kill his anointed? Why, Why, Why Lord?
The Lord reminds me that he desires for none to perish but for all to come to repentance, The Lord reminds me that he did not just die for the sins of the anointed but He died for the sins of the whole world. The Lord reminds me that He shall accomplish his will whether I understand it or not. The Lord reminds me that he asked the Father to forgive us because we know not what we do. The Lord reminds me that his love has overcome this reality, and nothing can separate us from his love. The Lord reminds me that the suffering and pain of this reality is nothing in comparison to his kingdom and his age to come.

Come Lord, quickly.

Christ be with you always.

Why do you assume He "chose" not to know?
If somewhere it says He knows all things, and then somewhere else it says He did not know certain things then that is either a contradiction or an error in scripture.

Some of what is said in the Bible isn't inspired by God.

That was my point, how do you determine what is and what isn't ?
And someone else may determine it differently.

Unfortunately many christians think that EVERY word in scripture is inspired by God and is absolute truth

[1]Because the Bible tells us that God didn't know certain things.
He is all knowing about His will plan a purposes, If you read my post, You would know that.

[2]How we determine what is God speaking or God's plans, We take the Bible as a whole, Not take isolated scriptures out of context.
For instance, Moses said man the days on our years are 70 years, or 80 years if one is strong, Ps 90: 10.
Now if that was God speaking, It would make Him a liar, because people live to be older then 70 or 80.
Moses saw that because of mans sins and disobedience, They wee only living to 70 or 80.

Then we go into Ps 91:16, And we see God is speaking, And He said, "With long life I will satisfy him".
Here God is talking about the person that loves God, v14.
And those who call upon Him. v 15.

People that know the Bible, [As a whole], and know the Old Testament Hebrew, and the New Testament Greek, Won't interpret the Bible, They will believe it as it interprets itself.
The error comes when one tries to interpret the Bible the way they think it should be interpreted.

Every word that GOD says, Is inspired.

Yet various people from different beliefs live long lives and devout christians may die young....there is no correlation between loving God and long life.

Is God a liar? Or are His promises simply very vague and cannot be applied in a general way?

Acts 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

So if foreknowledge demands predetermination then it was God's wicked hands that murdered Christ.

Just because people from other beliefs might live longer than some Christians, It doesn't change God's word.
Christian get sick and die through lack of knowledge of what the Bible says, or through unbelief, Or through sin and disobedience.

But those that love God, Know what His word says, believes it, and are living right, have God's promise that they will live a long and satisfied life... Or is God telling lies??.
