The OT Hebrew word for "Nephew", Is Banim", The NT Greek word is, "Ekgona".
They are completely different from Brothers "Adelphos" and sisters "Adelphe".
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I have studied this. We won't agree that is obvious. I can only pray that someday you will realize that we have been brethren this entire time. And when we meet in Heaven, I'm sure God will let us all know where the doctrinal differences were important and where they weren't.

If you have studied it from the Bible instead of the catholic viewpoint, you would know that Mary had other children.

We will only meet in heaven if you become a born again Christian.
You are not my brother.

I studied the Bible from a protestant perspective for over 20 years, and it didn't add up.

I acknowledge you as my brother, it's unfortunate that you deny it.

I think you don't want me to post what the Bible and the Greek says, because you know it will prove you wrong.

How can you acknowledge me as a brother when I'm a Christian and your a catholic??.
Catholic aren't Christians, to be a Christian, you need to be born again the Biblical way, and the catholic way of salvation is different to the Biblical way.

It's funny how this thread is knocking Catholicism and I bet nearly everyone keeps Sunday Sabbath, Christmas and Easter that was brought in by them.

Why not keep Passover instead of Easter as instructed by the Apostle Paul?

1 Corinthians 5:7-8 "....For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth."

Also we'll be keeping the feast of Tabernacles in the Millennium and whatever nation who doesn't keep it, a curse will come upon their land.

Zechariah 14:16-19 "Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. [SUP]17 [/SUP]If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, they will have no rain. [SUP]18 [/SUP]If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The Lord will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. [SUP]19 [/SUP]This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles."

Concerning the Sabbath day we'll be keeping that also

Isaiah 66:22-23 “As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me,” declares the Lord, “so will your name and descendants endure. 23 From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,” says the Lord."

The Vatican were who stamped and officially changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday.

''The [Roman Catholic] Church changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday by right of the divine, infallible authority given to her by her founder, Jesus Christ. The Protestant claiming the Bible to be the only guide of faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday.'' The Catholic Universe Bulletin, August 14, 1942, p. 4.

“It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church.” Priest Brady, in an address, reported in the Elizabeth, NJ ‘News’ on March 18, 1903.

''I have repeatedly offered $1,000 to anyone who can prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible says 'Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.' The Catholic Church says, No. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week. And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the Holy Catholic Church." Priest Thomas Enright, C.S.S.R., February 18, 1884

Thomist, think about it. Jesus prayed to His Father, to the point He sweat blood, that if there were ANY other way for salvation to take the cup from Him. So you either have to believe that there are other ways (like indulgences, or good works, or reciting 10 hail Marys etc..) to attain salvation, and God let His Son be scourged, tortured, and crucified, knowing that there WERE other ways to salvation, or you can believe in Jesus ALONE for salvation BECAUSE God knew there was no other way. Simple as that.

Good point, It sad that our brother and sister trust man made doctrine instead of His doctrine.

Look at this teaching bellow. Isn't it coup d'etat ? Salvation is by priceless blood of Jesus, but replace by cheap scapular.

From this teaching alone if I were catholic, I will run as far as possible and come to the real Jesus.

This teaching is a trap, If one lost his house, job, wife and money. he may buy scapular and wear it than rob the bank. nothing to lose. If kill by police go to heaven anyway remember he wear scapular.

If succeed than it solve the earthly problem.

I repeat one more time. this doctrine alone tell who is in behind. It is Lucifer.

[h=2]Whosoever dies wearing this Scapular Shall not suffer eternal fire![/h]Our Lady of Mount Carmel to Simon StockJuly 16, 1251 No matter how extraordinary this promise may appear to be, the Blessed Mother made it and She will keep it. At the word of Her FIAT, She conceived by the Holy Ghost and the Incarnate Word became Man. If Almighty God, in obedience to the word of the priest every day at Holy Mass, comes down upon our Altars Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, will He refuse His Mother this grace for Her children!

Good works and penance prayers do not save us. It's the Lord who saves us. Good works are the fruit of our faith in submitting to the will of God. Penance prayers are one way of saying Lord I take responsibility for my actions of doubt and denying You for my own petty pleasures. Usually penance is reciprocal to the sin confessed. Such as, if I confess that I lied to someone, my penance would be to go and tell the truth. Or if someone committed a crime and confessed it, penance would be to turn yourself in. It's the way we believe that we are saying Lord I am sorry for what I did. Thank You for forgiving me. I take responsibility and am willing to do what I should have done when I went astray. Penance prayers are for situations where open response is impossible. Such as, I confess to having lied to my boss three years ago, but my boss is dead. I cannot go and right that wrong. That's when Hail Mary's and Our Father's come into play. I understand if this is offensive because Hail Mary's are given as penance, but I hope I have concisely explained what we believe and how we believe we should respond to Christ's saving Grace. And I hope this was helpful.

I truly believe that Catholics should still be welcomed in this forum. Somebody has to open their minds and make the corrections. We can not just leave them out there and call ourselves Christians. It's more effort and tiring but still....Just saying...

I agree, Catholics need to know the truth, the least we can do is show them the truth.
We must believe that some of them might get the revelations of the truth.

No, she is not the wife of God anymore than we are. But realize, God created the woman who would be His mother. She gave flesh to His divinity. She did not fear the angel, and said, "Fiat!" God created her to be His mother. She was not some simple tool, but the woman who bore, bathed, watched, cared for, cried for, loved, and cuddled the Lord. Maybe we Catholics go too far in your eyes, but to us, protestants don't even seem to honor or have any love for the mother of Christ, who was to be called blessed throughout ALL the generations.

She was more than a vessel, what a cold word. Christ called her, "woman" as Adam called Eve woman. Christ was the new Adam, who do you think was the new Eve whose offspring would crush the head of the serpent? We believe Mary is the mother of the Church, because she was the mother of the King. The mother who was foretold to Eve. The Ark of the New Covenant, the woman of Revelation 12. She is not God. She cannot perform miracles. But she is blessed, most blessed of all womankind.
And while you Catholics are centering on how Mary played peek-a-boo with Jesus us Christians are centering ourselves on Christ ALONE. Not one person in this thread has said Mary isn't to be respected or that she is not blessed. Mary, was human. She was highly favored by God, and so were many other people in the bible. Like Abraham, and many other prophets. Do we worship and pray to them? Mary was righteous and favored by God, but it is clear in scripture she was HUMAN and came from the seed of Adam(unlike Jesus) and she even admitted she needed a savior. Romans 3:23 says ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. That includes Mary.

Luke 11 27 27 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman with the people there called out to him, “Blessings from God belong to the woman who gave birth to you and fed you!”

Then Jesus said in verse 28...

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]But Jesus said, “The people who hear the teaching of God and obey it—they are the ones who have God’s blessing.”[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Nothing is recorded in the bible about Mary after the Day of Pentecost. We don't know when she died. We don't know anything about her after Acts chapter 1. Yet, the Catholic church has taken it upon themselves to exalt her as more than the earthly mother of Jesus and give her "power" to hear prayers, perform miracles, and be worshiped. The bible NEVER ONCE insrtucts us to worship or pray to anyone BUT God, and we are to pray to God in the name of JESUS. Not Mary, Not Peter, Not Paul. JESUS.

While Mary is to be respected, she is not to be held to the standard that the Catholic church does. Which is idol worship.

I was thinking about the hail mary yesterday, doesnt the end of it go something like this, pray for us sinners now at the hour of our death..? If im right, my following thoughts why the heck would you pray that? If God alone promises to save you, have faith in that. I have nothing against Catholics at all, I still treat them how I want to be treated but ai dont agree with some of their stuff.

I do know that the catholics do pray, "pray for us sinners now at the hour of our death".
As for the rosary, Do you know catholics do twice as many "Hail Mary's" as "Our Father",

It just shows how they put Mary before God.

That argument is irrelevant in regards to the actual value of the Rosary.

You're forgetting that the first part of the 'Hail Mary' prayer was brought down to us from Heaven by an angel, while the 2nd was voiced through Mary's sister, Elizabeth, who was inspired by the Holy Spirit.

We Catholics have a biblical basis for all of our beliefs, otherwise our church would have been utterly crushed thousands of years ago.

Do your research and educate yourself before spreading false rumors about us.

Don't be like Jack Chick, who piles a bunch of Conspiracy theories on the Vatican without evidence, or the makers of 'The Da Vinci Code', who made extremely offensive claims against the monks and nuns.

Take the time and effort to clear all of your murky stereotypes and beliefs about us, carefully cross-examine our doctrines with Scripture, and open your blasted history books; history books about your churches as well as ours. You'll realize that we Catholics are not as demonic as you think we are.

How can thinking of Mary twice as much as God, Be irrelevant .
It proves that Mary is the catholic god.

I know what the Bible teaches, And I know what the catholics teach, And I know there not the same things.
There are far to many differences between the Biblical Church and the catholic church.
To cross-examine the catholic teachings with the Bible,= error.

Catholics twist the truth about Mary, She was not a perpetual virgin.

I can give you Biblical and Greek Biblical proof that Mary had other children.

I said the same to another catholic on the website, But he didn't want to be proved wrong.

This is very true. Mary did have other children. What do they expect? Mary and Joseph were newly weds! As a woman, I am very certain that Mary suspected pregnancy every time they "rustled the sheets", if you will. On top of that, Having many children was and still is important to many families. Also, technically, Jesus wasn't Joseph's biological son so Joseph might have felt the need to have his own little ones.
Also:

Matthew 12:46
46
While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
[h=3]Luke 8:19[/h]King James Version (KJV)

19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

[h=3]Mark 3:31[/h]King James Version (KJV)

31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.

The Bible doesn't lie.
