it doesn't matter if you've got a monarchy or a pure democracy or any other form of government.

if a nation doesn't honor God, it's destined for judgement.

neither a single wicked man, a triumvirate or congress, nor the collective will of hundreds of millions of wicked men rules righteously.

slamming political systems is missing the point. and remember, Christ will reign as King -- not as duly elected representative of the saints. He doesn't ask us for our "vote" :)

God also wants total control of His people, but that in freedom of Christ:

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."

totally!!!

LOL! Measured by the U.N. which puts Cuba just a couple of slots behind the U.S. Although with the implementation of O-care we will soon be in dead last!

Lol what is socialism? What is communism? What is capitalism?

All of man's political-economic systems are flawed, just read Samuel.

But then again depending on one's definition of socialism America is all ready socialist along with China lol.

Not that any self-proclaimed capitalist country is perfect either, lol, just look at America. Just the same as any variant of so-called communist country certainly isn't perfect seeing as most of those dissolved or reformed radically around the time of my birth.

health care measured by the World Health Organization and many other independent agencies, not the UN.
economy measured by many independent groups and metrics, not the UN.
education measured also by many independent metrics, not the UN.

it's just the truth -- you can't blame the UN and say "actually, 'murica #1 at errything in unskewed polls"

Contrary to popular belief, even with the disaster that is obama, America is Still the world's largest economy, as it has been for almost 100 yrs.

Here is just one metric to illustrate just how ridiculously above the rest of the world we are in terms of standard of living: See next post

doh.

well have a look at Bloomberg's pure economic evaluation of national health care efficacy.
Most Efficient Health Care: Countries - Bloomberg Best (and Worst)

or try the Commonwealth Fund's rankings and report:
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall: How the Performance of the U.S. Health Care System Compares Internationally, 2010 Update - The Commonwealth Fund
there are a lot of other studies too that i don't care to go googling over.

anyhoo, for-profit, capatilism-driven healthcare doesn't seem to be the best model IMHO.

(well, it's awfully good model if you're looking for optimal doctor salaries. but not if you are mostly concerned with the patients)

having a very large economy and much per-capita wealth doesn't equate with "strong economy" -- we've bought an awful lot of that on a national credit card.
countries like Japan and Germany for example have much "smaller" economies (and happen to be governed by socialist models) that are much healthier than Americas, and have higher standards of living and better (socialized) healthcare systems.

all i wanted to say was that yes, these exist, so it is not true that socialism = destruction of economy, standard of living and healthcare.

Ok brother, have a great night. Sorry for not being as graceful in debate as I should.

9/11 and two illegal wars and the greatest economic collapse since the great depression is NOT a disaster according to PennEd.

Implementing a Republican think tank idea to assist with health care..... is a disaster.

How is this even remotely logical or even Christian?

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get your Republican president again and we can go to more wars. Kill more babies. Maybe even tank the economy a few times! I bet you guys can't wait!!!

Pope Francis can afford to be a commie because it doesn't cost him anything to be one. His every want is paid for others. The apostle Paul, in contrast, worked a job all day as a tentmaker and preached at night and on his days off and could state to the Ephesians:

"I have coveted no one's silver or gold or clothes. 'You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my own needs and to the men who were with me. In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

^ That's not communism. That's someone working his tail off to take care of himself and his dependents and then donating of his own freewill some of his left over to help the weak from a good heart.

Maybe if Pope Francis made tents he'd understand what Paul was talking about instead of urging governments to extort the hard earned money of everyday taxpayers to hand over to those that never worked for it and whom are typically generational welfare types that live on the dole and whose children keep the local street gangs humming while they sell drugs on the side.

Not to mention the massive borrowing and printing of money these politicians engage in indebting entire nation's progeny for generations so they can act like Santa and pass out money to that same demographic (lazy generational welfare recipients) for their votes so the politicians can collect those votes and increase their own personal wealth. Jesus never taught irresponsibility.

Socialism, Communism, Fascism, are all roads that lead to the same end. Total government control of it's citizens and a complete lack of freedom. These 3 systems (which are really the same in their implementation) are responsible for over 100 million deaths in the 20th century alone, as well as untold misery to those who survived.

I think this article nails it:
