Why its an attack on the Power of God !

Now I am going to prove by scripture why that those who oppose Eternal Security even after seeing 1 Pet 1:5, that they attack the Power of God !

Paul wrote to the Romans and particular to the Gentile Believers this Rom 11:20

Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

Then later in the same letter Paul writes this Rom 14:4

Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

This informs us that one stands by God's ability, he shall be holden up !

Now the word able here in Rom 14:4 is the same word as Power in 1 Pet 1:5

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

That's proof positive that its the Power of God that keeps one through Faith, because we stand by Faith Rom 11:20 and God ables us to stand Rom 14:4 !

So once again, those who reject Eternal Security even in light of the teaching of 1 Pet 1:5, they do attack the very Power and abilty of God, such should be turned away from, they are true believers 2 Tim 3:5

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

No True Believer has any business going to any church that denies Eternal Security, they are denying the Faith if they do !

And since you don't obey, what are you going to do?
Since Romans 1 describes you, what is your hope?
I don't obey doctrine of man with false hope...one verse... I follow Christ not one verse....I hear him not one verse

Is it too much for me to ask you to do your homework on this one? Salvation comes in 3 tenses. The Believer was saved (past)
Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

, is being saved,
1 John 2:23-25
[SUP]23 [/SUP]Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning.If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

[SUP]25 [/SUP]And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

and will be saved.
John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Romans 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

These facts are not mutually exclusive
.
I follow Christ,I obey Christ his word abide in me and I shall continue to follow.( re your reference to me concerning Rom1)
2 Cor
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
[SUP]4 [/SUP](For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
[SUP]5[/SUP]Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

[SUP]6 [/SUP]And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? if any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.

Was Adam not pure? Didn't Adam walk with God in the cool of the day? Why didn't God eternally secure Him?
or was it free will. There is no evidence that Adam or Eve ever repented in fact it wasn't until seth was grown that men began to call on the name of the Lord.
Was Adam and Eve condemned to hell for failing to obey the ONE commandment they had or did their "relationship" with God suffer. Through one man's disobedience - because Adam chose to disobey - sin and death entered - good and evil entered "the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: - man separated from God.

SOLUTION:

Through one's obedience - For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life = "man must be born again" = that which is born of the Spirit is spirit = partaker of the divine nature = by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life = Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference = reconciled back to God - born of the Spirit; a child of God - after this all concerns our walk with God - will we walk by the Spirit or walk by the flesh - our relationship - our fellowship fluctuates by our walk but our standing as a child of God is eternal - as the spirit that he placed within us is eternal. Flesh profits NOTHING.

Our free-will choice - to believe or not to believe - one leads to righteousness, justification, sanctification, redemption, eternal life - one to condemnation. Those are the two choices . . . . . choose life or choose death

That spirit placed in us is not ours its God's and we must be led by that spirit...there are disobedient children you know...

  • Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
    Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

But nicely put piece...

"That which is born of the Spirit is spirit." The Lord is not making another God in us; our spirits get a renewal, a new birth. This is not the Holy Spirit giving birth to Himself.

I am perplexed as to why you quote Mat 7:21. That obviously refers to someone at the Judgment addressing the Lord Jesus as "Lord, Lord." It has nothing to do with what they did in their life.

It has nothing to do with calling on the LORD in this life and asking Him to save you.

Now are you sure you want to figure things out so as to prevent yourself from asking the Lord Jesus to save you and give you eternal life -- then trusting Him to actually give you eternal life and take care of your destiny?

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved.
Whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be saved.

So you are a real good boy, and Romans 1 doesn't apply to you. You are righteous. In that case, the Lord did not come to call you. You are out of luck. The only ones He saves are sinners.

God be merciful to me a sinner.

John, when will you completely trust the Lord Jesus for your future? when will you trust Him as your only and sufficient Savior? He paid for all your sins in the most horrible pain imaginable on the cross. He said, "It is finished."

When will it be,
"Nothing in my hand I bring;
simply to thy cross I cling."
I think OSAS is refuted by the scripture...

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Heb 6:7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
Heb 6:8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

Why did Paul think he could be cast away?

1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

He even speaks of those who have cast off their faith...

1Ti 5:11 But the younger widows rrrrrfrefuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
1Ti 5:12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

OSAS is not scriptural.
Total nonsense Atwood. Must we hear this same response from all of you ES guys? That's hardly a defense of your position, by the way.

Did I say that the spirit placed within us is 'ours'? "being born of God = "man must be born again" = that which is born of the Spirit is spirit = partaker of the divine nature". It is God's spirit in us that makes us his kids

Yes, there are disobedient "children" - does that negate their sonship? We can be led by the Spirit, of course. That is what I meant by "after this all concerns our walk with God - will we walk by the Spirit or walk by the flesh - our relationship - our fellowship fluctuates by our walk but our standing as a child of God is eternal - as the spirit that he placed within us is eternal." My children sometimes disobey me but hey, they are still my children - my 'seed' remains in them and it is corruptible - God's 'seed' remains in us and it is incorruptible.

Again, I say yes it is Satanic and heresy to deny eternal security that is found in Jesus and his completed work!

But what does a man do if he doesn't love the Lord and doesn't follow him? What if a man finds he cannot follow the Lord and is intrinsically selfish?

What if you must have a Savior, but He offers eternal life if you trust Him for it?

Had you best not figure it out?

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. -- this for those who trust Christ.

In other words, anyone who disagrees with me is a heretic.
The problem is not that you disagree with a human.
The problem is your failure to trust your destiny to the hands of the Savior, the Lord Jesus.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved,.

Note how John832 fails to quote Heb 6:9 where it is explained how the preceding apostasy is not about saved persons, but mere professors. Professors may depart; but it proves that they were never part of the Church to begin with (1 John 2).

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, unto an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who by the power of God are guarded through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

[h=3]Mark 4[/h]King James Version (KJV)

3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
14 The sower soweth the word.
15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
