I find this appalling, at least in a British society where climate change is taught in schools, where people understand the concepts of carbon footprint, and in so many Western countries who are part of the UN, and further afield. A recent report discovered that if every person on Earth lived like the average UK citizen, we would actually need three Earth's to sustain us. I imagine since the US food wastage rate is about 40%, and carbon footprint is about 25% of Earth's, that five or six Earth's might be needed.

This deforestation video shows how about 15% of the Amazon has been deforested in the last 15 years. This is another big issue.

Anyone living in the UK should read the Green's Manifesto, because this is all now becoming very serious, irreversibly so. I read yesterday on National Geographic that extinction is happening 1000 times faster because of humans, too. I don't understand how the powers that be can be happy with making a superficial effort against climate change, teaching it in schools while simultaneously undermining the progress of climatic solutions in practice.

People used to talk about global warming.

Now they talk about climate change, because they can't even prove that the weather is actually getting warmer.

When the Berlin Wall came down, there was a consequent ideological discrediting of socialism, which supplied some kind of narrative used by politicians to justify the high taxation and high levels of government intervention that they collectively seem driven to promote. So the whole 'global warming or else climate change' narrative offers politicians a useful excuse to procrastinate, when it comes to failing to come to terms with runaway taxation and the creeping influence of expensive international organizations responsible to no one.

With the decline in religion also, people still need something to believe in, so the global warming or else climate change' narrative also offers unscrupulous politicians some supposed repository of alleged wisdom that can be presented in quasi-spiritual terms.

I saw a joke of a documentary on nat-geo that started out by saying we should be entering into an ice age that would cover most of Europe and North America with a mile of glacial ice and that man was altering this NATURAL phase, and how horrible it is that we are!! These buffoons can't even see how ludicrous their statement is! EVEN IF we are causing global warming, wouldn't that be a good thing? Longer growing seasons, much less energy usage to cool a house or business than heat it, less death caused by extreme cold, AND NO MILE OF ICE IN YOUR LIVING ROOM! Please don't be taken in by these cons. It's all about control over YOU and a transfer of wealth through taxation. Scientific facts presented to children is not 'indoctrination', those kids are free to choose to believe what they like, however denying climate change, denying scientific analysis and proof, isn't being against indoctrination, it's living in a fantasy world. Nobody is saying don't believe in God, especially not me, who is worried about the carbon footprint, but at the same time, it's REALLY, REALLY, REALLY stupid to be totally against anything scientific out of your own narrow opinion that science and faith are mutually exclusive.

To the person who said religion is on the decline, last I checked, Islam and Christianity were growing faster than atheism was declining.

Actually I attempted to discuss it, and couldn't believe people still deny this like it's some conspiracy. The evidence is obvious. The CO2 level in air has, in the last 650,000 years, never gone above 300 parts per million, until today. Denying it won't make it disappear.
